I know a lot of people don't like them but I absolutely love my rekluse on my 300. I'm an older fellow so it's a bit of a crutch but I won't ride a bike without one. Glad you like the 350, saw a similar review on the same bike. Might consider one next time. I've always loved 4 strokes. My old 450 just got to be too much and the switch to a 300 2 stroke has been awesome.
The new-gen KTM motor and chassis is legit - in all trims. The '24 bikes with their closed cartridge forks make them even better. I have a '23 350 XC-F alongside a '24 300 XC-W and if it weren't for the AER fork, the 350 would be an excellent option for a do-all woods bike.
Agree. All the talk about how stiff the frame is I don’t get. It feels great to me and honestly, 95% of us probably can’t really feel the difference in the flex the frame has. The new CC forks are fantastic.
Afternoon Greg, I’ve had 3 different 350 over time. I’d recommend that your friend use 6 silver springs in that Rekluse. That will give the bike the best clutch response, it will also make it retain hook up down hill until almost idle. Then ride it like the Rekluse is not there. You’ll love it even more. 😊
The KTM 350 is likely the most versatile model every produced. With a rekluse it looked docile and sedate on those low-speed single-tracks. Yet, the bike is a BEAST in open high-speed situations like GNCC or NEPG. When pro-racer Josh Toth was asked if he had to choose just one bike what would it be (Toth races everything discipline: hard-enduro, motocross, national enduro, sprint enduro, and cross country) he said it would have to be the 350.
After I put a boysen super cooler kit on my 350 then it maintained temps better in the slow stuff. Before super cooler the fan kept up but bike runs hot when slow
My buddy just got a 2023 FX350 (same motor) and yes vastly improved on the power delivery. The old 350's I rode were all mid to top on power and weak on the bottom which makes them not so great in the tight twisty stuff. The new motor seems just about perfect for just about anything. Should tighten up the Rekluse. Mine rarely freewheel
I would 100% state that the only reason you felt that bike was so soft was because it had the recluse. I rode several 350s over the years and thought they were all slugs until the new one that came in 2023 and these new ones are beasts. You put a recluse on one just like with a 450 and it tames them right down.
Great review as usual. Good to hear some positive feedback about the new chassis from an experienced and highly competent rider. 350s are great but at 73kg and 51yrs of age I'm starting to think 250f. Would like to see you review a 250f but they aren't that popular for enduro. The new ones are just so powerful compared with the old XRs etc from back in the day. Thanks for the reviews.
I'm 200lbs and the 250XC-F is awesome for me. The powerband is so linear and up top they still make tons of power. Little more clutch work but the bike feels like a mtb on trails
That rekluse is set up wrong i can tell by how early it signs off when youre free wheeling and talking about it over heating, hes gotta put the softest softest springs in there turn the idle up and get the 450 spring washer so it only unlocks with the back wheel locked and use the clutch regularly. Also if you ride them that low its gonna over heat.
So is this your top pick for a four stroke over the beta 390 and the Sherco 300? Always on the fence about getting another two-stroke or trying a four stroke, change my mind daily. Great video. Great review.
Try it in the hot map with the traction control "ON", she's a sweetie. This bike needs a rekluse if you ride in the tech. Don't like them on a 2 stroke but they rock on the 350.
I had a 2012 and could not stand that bike, raced it for a little over a season put way to much money into suspension trying to get that turd to handle, glad to hear this one sounds better.
I'm picking one up next month, just like that one. Moving from my 2022 450sxf FE. Also adding Rekluse and fan, steering dampener. My question is what did you think about the gearing? I do ride MX track 1-2 times a month and I have seen some saying to go up to a 49 on the rear, so third is the gear, curious to see what you thought of gearing.
A properly set up Rekluse absolutely transforms the 350. All positive except for the freewheeling backwards down hills, but you will quickly learn to keep a little throttle applied on failed hill climbs.
That’s surprising. I wish I could ride a xcw and a xcf with xact forks. Other reviews have said the xcf is too stiff for st but xcw is perfect for a experienced rider.. did you notice much of a difference between the two ? I know you’ve road both many times now.
Thats not true, if you set it up engage 100% right off idle with a 450 Bellville washer you won't even know it has a rekluse other than it wont stall with the back wheel locked mine doesn't even free wheel if I pull the clutch in and let it back out on a down hill.

those trails look so much like what we ride back east!
also, it's insane how good these 4t's track.
That's a modern day "Toat Goat" right there! You were kickin' butt on that thing!!!

I don't get why anybody would want a 4stroke for off road riding,unless it's like an old-fashioned XR 400.
Got the same bike and love it i also put the new connectivity unit on it

Yes, I would have preferred to try it without the Rekluse given the opportunity. As is it’s a great bite to ride through.
@@PNWEnduro. Ya the recluse is like having a flywheel weight.

Thanks. Yes I'd really like to test the 250XCF as well, you don't see a lot of them around though. Megs is loving hers.
@PNWEnduro if you're ever in Colorado, you're more than welcome to give my 22 a shot. They are a blast, severely underrated

250 f is like 5 pounds lighter
Try a 250 two stroke be prop 25 pounds lighter
Great review man, Try the ECW 350, a bit smoother and linier, especially when you're on the gas 👍

Yes, I'd pick it over the Beta and Sherco. I would like to try one without the auto clutch first though.
Good to know thank you.
@@PNWEndurohow do you compare these too the two bikes in question? Looking at changing to a 4 stroke

Now do a back to back with a 24 yz250fx!

Gearing was perfect IMO. Rekluse may be a factor as you don't feel the need to shift as much.
Would love to own one of these 👍🏼

Hah I spend 100 hours on a an SEF 300 but I nearly crashed 3 times trying to find all the levers :) amazing how much we get used to our setups
I didn't think my lever setup was that different lol. You do seem comfortable and are riding well on both your KTM's.
A properly set up Rekluse absolutely transforms the 350. All positive except for the freewheeling backwards down hills, but you will quickly learn to keep a little throttle applied on failed hill climbs.
Please quickshifter test
Whats your thought on the 350 xcf for a 250 lb rider vet 47 years old or a 450?
350 will be plenty of power. 450's are a lot of power for woods riding and run hotter in slower trails.
Did you ever ride the Beta 390 RR racing ? would love to see a review between that and the Beta 350..
The 390rr back in 2018. I preferred both the Beta 350 and 430 over the 390, short stroke vs long stroke motors.
@@PNWEnduro Yea, need to rev them more, think the latest 390 is a kill tho
do these have the same motor as the EXC model but without smog gear on it and a different ECU profile?
Was the suspension soft enough for st? If you go full soft on clickers do the trick or you need a revalue? Trying to decide between xcf and xwf …
Clickers are still midway out and it feels great on the trails already.
That’s surprising. I wish I could ride a xcw and a xcf with xact forks. Other reviews have said the xcf is too stiff for st but xcw is perfect for a experienced rider.. did you notice much of a difference between the two ? I know you’ve road both many times now.
with a rekluse, you are better off riding like the lever isnt there, clutch will never work the way it should anyway.

@@lukekelly5115 if your putting around sure.
@@billypulsipher1544 all I do is race i use the clutch 95% of the time, pretending the lever isn't there is the definition of putting around
@@lukekelly5115 it doesnt matter for racing either, its just a bigger waste of money.
