Wow LightBurn should be worried. The amount of time I spend with that software and now we have an OS that has everything built in this is a game changer all other engravers are going to go to this in the future.

This operative rating system is a tremendous step forward.
A new user can do amazing things with just this operating system. It is no substitute for light burn.
There are many features that I use as a more advanced user that I was unable to do with the software built into the laser. You're unable to choose crosshatch or directional burning, you're unable to invert images when burning on dark materials and I was unable to find where I could put in a speed and power setting that I chose instead of selecting one of their preset options. Don't get me wrong. I still feel that this is one of the best most capable lasers I have tested, but I will still be using lightburn for some tasks.

Yes, this one is very user freindly. You have to update the firmware to get all the pre-made projects. It seems they keep adding new ones. It had, I think, around 30 on the firmware it was shipped with. It is super easy to load from a USB drive or app. I think it is great to give you something to start with and get comfortable with the machine. I run Lightburn. You can do a lot more advanced things using LB. That is how I was able to get it to cut like that. CO² lasers are more made for cutting thicker materials. This one surprised me with how well it cut. Until I get more time with this machine, my recommendation has been diode lasers are for engravinging and cutting thin material. A 20w should cut up to around 1/2" thick. I was able to cut 5/8" red oak with this one. I did not test any soft wood, but the further you get away, the more out of focus the beam is. If you do get one and have any problems, email me, and I will be able to help.

It cuts better than my 30w. I may even get an extension kit for it. I have been very impressed so far.

Yes, it is. Is there anything you think I should have covered more like the phone app?

@ I use my phone app a lot. It probably wouldn’t be a bad idea. The touch screen seems pretty comprehensive and, in my case, would be a welcomed improvement over what I have.
