Really pleased for him, it was very harsh to be sacked by Bournemouth, he did a great job there. Wishing him all the best, he deserves to manage in the premier league

I dont think O neil is a bad appointment for wolves, obviously its a downgrade on loptegui but the job he did at Bournemouth last season shouldn't go unnoticed!

@PythagorasinBoots I am think gary has a good squad people say we are selling all our players but neves was the only starter think we have a good squad been good in preseason and we have a lot of good players not getting relegated imo but it's football never know so hopefully yh although didn't know much about gary but he seems a good bloke and a good manager aswell inexperienced but how else you gonna get experience

Neville & Carra have a brilliant understanding of the game and surrounding mechanics..they said Julen will resign before september and here we are..he has already resigned and wolves have a replacement as well.

I don't know why Bournesmouth sacked him. I thought he was an excellent manager for them last season.
If I recall, they lost 4 of their last 5, with the one win being against another struggling team. I thought Bournemouth showed real foresight in sacking him in the off season instead of waiting until November to do it.

@@ohyouhandsomedevil I mean Wolves have barely spent and most of their quality has walked out the door. Bournemouth have spent well and Iraola is a much better manager than O Neill who will do a much better job I mean come on he made SF with Rayo Vallecano and beat Barca and Real last season. Don't compare him with someone who had less than a 30 percent win rate last season

However, Cherries, Luton and even Sheffield doesn't have the names and quality that Wolves, Everton, Forest or Fulham does.

There is no demise lol we are trying to adhere to FFP, wish the same could be said about the rest of the clubs in the league. El Stropetegui can do one, he showed zero commitment and the board spent a fortune backing him already.

And lets be honest we actually prepared for Neves leaving with good midfield aqquisitions. Most people saying we will struggle don't know anything about Wolves. Lets ignore the negativity and get behind our new coach.
Like you I'm hopeful that the 1st team squad looks mid table to me if they avoid suspension and injury. More concerned that we have not rid of guedes (injured). Neves plus Mouthino, traore Jimenez, coady, Collins, Giles, Sanderson, sarkic and others loans out hoever, chinquino, cundle and others . Huge chunk of wages off the books, shows transfer fees is only a small part of the numbers which have to comply with FFP.

@@colinfrancis8213 Joao Gomes in my opinion replaced Neves, remember how he was suspended and we got the points to survive last season (people don't want to admit this). As for striker's give Sasa a chance we havn't even seen him play and also Fabio who is a much more mature player. Is Doherty a worse back up right back than Jonny, I think not personally.

I really like this guy, and hope they stay up now. And I wish Bournemouth to go down the second the got rid of him. Too much chopping and changing without reason in football. This may just save Wolves.
What this tells you: the owners are no longer interested in investing in the club and hope they can stay in the PL on a shoestring. It may work but probably won’t.

Why appoint a Championship level manager , yeah he did well with Bournemouth but he is still a Championship manager at best , i see Wolves getting relegated this season just because of this appointment.

The players we have are very good, the only thing we have to watch out for is the dodgy FA/Refs/Var who penalise us far more than any other team ... maybe that's why Fosun are adhering to the FFP shite.

Literally yesterday, poor guy was promised by our owners he’d be backed and would be allowed to buy players, then it went to being able to sign youngsters on long contracts, then went to free agents, then was told he wasn’t allowed to sign anyone at all due to FFP

Wolves can have him, he isn’t that good of a manager, at times for Bournemouth, he looked like he didn’t have a clue, half the time, Bournemouth looked awful, a league one team, but all credit to O’Neil, he did managed to keep us up, but every Bournemouth fan would agree with me, we needed a better manager than O’Neil, and we have.
