@@bulldogsbob As I've explained in my prev comment, romance in Ranma 1/2 is implicit, you gotta read between the lines, like from the action/body language (bc the main couple is tsundere). Romance in Inuyasha is more explicit bc the characters are more honest w their feelings, imo. To (not really) sum up why Ranma likes Akane in the manga: - Ranma loves Akane at first sight. - She has a cute smile. - She's a tomboy, which is his type (it's been teased multiple times in the manga). - She has cute short hair, it's his type too. - She's the most straightforward, honest (in fight), and honorable woman he knows (all women around him has certain level of those traits, but other than his own mother, nobody has it all-round higher than Akane). - She's kind, selfless, and won't hesitate to help those in needs, it's refreshing to him (other characters usually dgaf, they have their own agenda). - She accepts all parts of him (inc his female part, the rest of Ranma's "suitors" only want romance in his guy/girl form, never both) - He likes women weaker than him, because he wants to be the one who protects. (personally not a fan of this reason, but it is what it is) - Everytime he's emotional, she's one of the few people who can knock the sense back into him. - She has her own silliness (can't cook, can't swim, short temper, super blind to P-Chan, rather emotional, crybaby), but those are rather cute flaws compared to his other "fiancées'" flaws. - Everyone usually manipulate him to fit their own agenda (inc. Ranma's other "fiancées). Akane lets him choose his own path while supporting him no matter what (exc. two-timing, she'd never support that. But that's fine for him bc he's not the type who'd cheat on his partner, either). *Edit: - Akane's the second/third most level-headed person in the series, everyone else are either in delulu land or extremely smart but has "psychotic" agenda (like Nabiki). Sure she may be emotional -feel first think later- but she never fail to admit her wrongs everytime she realize Ranma's true motive. - She can read his mind better than anyone else. When in sync, their teamwork in battle/competition is top class. * TLDR; Ranma is surrounded by untrustworthy people, including his own parents (Genma often beat up & manipulates him, Nodoka wants to kill him if he's not manly enough). Akane is the only person he could trust with his life. Her flaws/weaknesses are cute and he can handle that, unlike other people's flaws. Those traits may sound like "friendship" materials to you, but I read him as the type who'd have loved his best friend whom he can trust with his life. The signs of Ranma loving Akane throughout this remake is already explained in my prev comment.
@@forotherpurpose3671 Yes I’ve read the manga and they love each other so much Ranma ditched her at the wedding for a chance to get cured. The only thing Akane has over Ranma over his other suitors is that he lives with her. I personally don’t find it cute that she is always willing to think the worst about him.
Shampoo is the better girl. She doesn’t blame Ranma for every little thing and is way sexier but the creator wanted Ranm and Akane, That’s her right of course but realistic what girl would a man want?
Shampoo is hella attractive woman indeed. She's sexy, straightforward with her affection, doesn't beat around the bush, knows exactly what she wants and she'd get it no matter what, manipulative, can cook delicious foods, sexy. Though, if you wanna be Shampoo's man, you gotta beat her, her great-grandma, and Ranma first. Be the #1 in any martial arts. That way she'll proudly show you around her village as her trophy husband. But you'll only be a trophy husband if you only excels at martial arts, so you gotta satisfy her in bed to make her even more hooked with you, bc from what we can see, she can handle the bed no problem. You also need to be romantic, she really loves that (ofc you can naturally do that if you love her). Some of your favorite spots might be lame for her if it's too boyish, so you gotta do your research to romance this girl. If there's any danger like natural disasters or enemy attack or anything, you can't be a coward; you gotta be the first one who step up and protect her. She's strong, but she loves being protected. That way, she'll feel your love and she can brag you out again. She loves validation, afterall. If you do that, she'll cook you even more delicious foods than the usual (even tho the usual is already delish). She'll happily do that because you manage to make her look like the luckiest girl in the world. She also loves to be a trophy wife, so if you have a respectable job and brings her loads of money and jewelries, she'll want 20 cute babies with you. If you can do that, she'll be head over heels in love with you and will be a great wife, but beware: the amount of her love is proportionate with her hate if you cheat on her. She can be petty, jealous, and hella posessive; if you show a slight hint of unfaithfulness, she won't hesitate to beat you up, just like Akane who beat up Ranma. She won't hold back because she knows you're strong, you can handle it. She will fuck you up. Heck, she won't hesitate to kill the other woman you slept with, because how dare she seduces her airen. But don't worry! If you can dominate her forcefully, I'm sure she can bow down to you. But you'll lose her love points significantly. She's still proud of you, she'll still brag you out as her trophy husband, and she will do her job as a wife dutifully, but you'll notice she'll just do the bare minimum. She won't be playful with you, and she'll start dreaming when will a stronger, more romantic & caring prince will come to take her away; unless you can win over her love again. If she loves you again strongly than ever, and you attract too many women you can't resist them, with the help of a "few" magic gadgets, she can lock you up in her room so you will only look at her. She'll manipulate and brainwash you using her gadgets for 3 days and 3 nights. She'll let you see the sunlight only if you promise you won't look at other woman, and you will only out for a short amount of time (long enough for her to brag you out, not enough for the women to flock on you). She will chase you to the end of the Earth if you run away. She will never let you go. But if you die, she'll avenge you, then find another man who can replace you; the new #1 ultra gigachad. TLDR; Everyone always says Shampoo is the best waifu, but Shampoo is one heck of a strong character; are you ready to have that kind of commitment with her? Just be prepared for all of that if you wanna be Shampoo's husband. If you're just gonna be a loser, than you can just dream on because Shampoo will never look your way. You'll be lucky if she looks at you in disgust like some kind of a bug, because at least she feels SOMETHING from you. Source: Trust me bro. (lol I'm a manga reader, the OG anime did her injustice bc they mischaracterized her a lot, this manga Shampoo is the most valid version of her imo)
In Rumiko’s defense, she already did something similar with Urusei Yatsura so I think she took her experience from that venture into account when making Ranma 1/2

- She's kind, selfless, and won't hesitate to help those in needs, it's refreshing to him (other characters usually dgaf, they have their own agenda).
- She accepts all parts of him (inc his female part, the rest of Ranma's "suitors" only want romance in his guy/girl form, never both)
- He likes women weaker than him, because he wants to be the one who protects. (personally not a fan of this reason, but it is what it is)
- Everytime he's emotional, she's one of the few people who can knock the sense back into him.
TLDR; Ranma is surrounded by untrustworthy people, including his own parents (Genma often beat up & manipulates him, Nodoka wants to kill him if he's not manly enough).
Japanese is better
Well, duh!!! It's a Japanese show after all, so what you'd expect??
For the Eng Dub, I much prefer Weseluck's (Spike from MLP - FIM) broken English version of Shampoo.
100%.
Share is better from choose 1😂😊
Shampoo is the better girl. She doesn’t blame Ranma for every little thing and is way sexier but the creator wanted Ranm and Akane,
That’s her right of course but realistic what girl would a man want?
No more broken English? They gotta PC up this show? There goes her personality and comedic charm.
What do you mean? It’s still broken 😂
Just watch the Japanese version, don't watch the far inferior English dub
What language she speaking? Chinese, This is gonna be weird😒😒😒
Not weird. Shampoo is Chinese, so she speaks Chinese.
@Spikero2 I meant it's weird and maybe irritating reminds me in other animes.
@@kavishangopalakrishnan7906whats ur problem dude
It's Chinese but in a Japanese accent
@@kavishangopalakrishnan7906its Chinese but in a Japanese accent
Broken speech or not, Shampoo still seems like a foreign stereotype. Don't care what you say.
Why does that matter?
What a racist.
By that logic, no one should care what you have to say either.
