Adidas and Emerica have been the most consistent brands for me across multiple shoes. Looking forward to more of the Tyshawn low colors being released

Honestly the only shoes I wear are the Vans pro models...got the “ultra cusion” for high impact resistance...feels like I’m walking on clouds all day and that’s being on my feet for 8+ hours a day...stay away from the “Oldschools” though...ZERO support...not to mention I wear those EXACT shoes and love them!
Great review! I got a pair of the new Vans "skate" slip-ons, and a pair of slip-on pros because I wanted to compare. The pros were cozy as hell straight out of the box, amazing grip & board feel and just a pleasure to wear comfortably anywhere. The "skate" slip-ons are still stiff after over a month. The shank is way stiffer, the sole has a little less grip and less board feel, it feels like a work shoe, I don't know, i don't like this new direction. Can't argue that the durability has improved and the new "skate" line will take more of a beating, but I would compromise that any day for comfort and board feel.
Agree ... the new insoles pop Cush hurt my feet , I had the half cabs for a few months now and they are still super stiff ... like I walked around the mall in them today and my feet are killing me right now .. my pro classics I feel are way more comfortable the insoles and way they break in ...I won’t be buying the new skate vans anymore... I was in vans outlet today and saw some pros still around and was thinking of stocking up on a pair or two for future cuz I love the pros

I mainly only wear/skate Emerica G6 Slip ons. Sometimes they last long sometimes not so much. I think due to material shortages around the world, a lot of companies have been resorting to what is available. They're still some of the most consistent shoes I've come across and great for skating. Excellent board control with just enough comfort. (and you can always get the Wino G6 if you want laces.)

3 years later but I find the skate classics last longer than the vans pro’s when they were out, the sole and duracap lasted me way longer
The Skate version of the Vans Sk8 Hi and Old Skool are by far the best/most comfortable/most durable skate shoes out right now imo. Anywhere the have my size on sale I always buy them all up.
Ive had my Hi’s since they dropped them and they’re still going… amazing shoe. I want to try the Crockett hi’s tho.

classic old skool and the old skool pro the way to go 🙌🏼 constantly going up in price but they're simply the best
this is the new old skool pro. they cut the pro line, redid the shoes and now call em skate old skool, skate sk8-hi(that name is so dumb) and skate half cab.
personally i like classic/normal old skools the most. no idea why.
the new sick grip does grip better than before.
love skating vans but they definitely get floppy in the forefoot after a while which sucks. Ive been seeing some comments about lakai's, I skated the Daly's and the tread was super deep, didn't flop out and I never wore the soles to the end of the tread, good shoes with nice flick!
What?! Only 2 months? 💀💀 that in my opinion is normal. But everyone skates different and skate different obstacles. The waffle was made deeper not durable or stronger.

I want to know what you think of the Last Resorts! They took me a little while to get used to but now they’re my favourite shoe and I can’t imagine skating anything else. Just a perfect, simple vulc shoe that keeps it’s shape.
Half Cabs are the superior skate shoe in literally every way, Rowan Pro's are legit also.
I'd put it on a white wall for the contrast..
Got the lampin reissues and half cabs and they last way longer and feel similar to a cup sole, just took a few sessions to get used to the added stickiness
I bought a pair of Vans Ave Pro Ltd x F’cking Awesome. After 2 weeks of not heavy wearing, they are coming apart at the seams ( literally ). I paid $112.00 and wouldn’t recommend them obviously. I have a ton of vans and I do see a fall off in durability of the newer models. That sucks

I personally love the PRO series of Vans. When they did away with that and made the SKATE 'versions' of the classics I was super bummed out. Vans was a brand built around skateboarding since the begining and for them to add the 'Skate' part to the shoes names is rather redundant. The Pro line was far superior and felt better on foot. I've tried other brands and the brand I want to give some love to but can't is Emerica. I am a size 9 in Vans and in Emerica, the shoes are just wonky on my foot. They feel far too long and are basically clown shoes for me. I've tried eS and the same thing happened to me too.

Only Vans for Skating and BMX since 1983. No other shoe has met the mark and I've worn them all over the decades. Im partial to the "pro" series now for cushioning, but og slip ons and high tops still the best IMO.

I agree they break in beautifully. But part of the reduced break in is less rigid structure. I wear the Rowans and it was by accident I was given a size 9 when I am a 9.5. So I wore them round for 2 weeks and figured the front of my toe had room so it should fit comfortably if I can stretch them out. By the end of it the fit like a glove and have stretched out to accommodate my width. Now I am buying size 9s only in vans and breaking them in longer. The shoe lasts me months mind you too old to be popping Ollie's like I used to but every aspect of bowl riding and grip has remained. What I have been suggesting is to buy a half size down for vans getting rid of the extra space in them...breaking them in longer and seeing whether there is any truth to what I am suggesting
I love the adidas matchbreaks. They are so durable as I experienced and have a nice cushion and you have a good board feel in them after breaking them in.
Got those same Vans and love them, however I also bought a pair of Etnies Marana with the Michellin sole. The latter are way more stiff and harder to break in, but also very comfortable and durable. However, I still love my vans. So in sum, I have a pair of vulcanised and another pair of cupsoles shoes.
I've had over 10 pairs of Vans since 2012, and they never last a year. Within 6 months I always end up getting a hole on the sole under the heel. Very difficult to find a good shoe nowadays.
my go to is the Emerica Romero's. they're definitely not the longest lasting shoe, but they just work perfectly for me.

I bought the Vans Kyle Walker 2's a few months ago, they're the most durable Vans I've had but they're velcro and not lace up so you can't tighten them as much. Still a lot better than the normal lace up vans

The AVE’s and the Kyle Walker slip-ons have been the best vans I have ever skated. IDK if i would have put out 80-90 to try them. They are good and COMFY!!
Just got the Ave in sale last week since I can't get my beloved Kyle walker 1 in any decent color anymore. I was surprised how snug they fit even compared to the already super snug Kyle walkers.
Please try footprint shoes. I think they’re the best I’ve tried so far and I have very wide flat feet it’s hard to find a comfy shoe

Try Nike Shane O’Niels, anytime I get tired of vans I switch back to my Shane’s and they always improve my skating ✅

Nike SB Chrons impact support is awesome too but there are better companies to support before nike imo.

Hmmm I have to disagree with you completely on the vans upgrade not being worth it, the rubber on the actual outsole not just the bottom tread was upgraded as well I believe and I’ve found it to last much longer compared to my older vans, but I do a lot of flip tricks myself.
From what I’ve watched our skating styles are much different so I figured I’d just throw in my two cents.

I like my Era skate series shoes, but I don't really do flip tricks so I'm sure other shoes are better. The waffle grip keeps me coming back

Ahhh!! That's the worst thing.
i dont like paying more than $45 for a pair of shoes to skate in. so its hard to find alot of other brands that put on shoe sales. etnies and es have been putting alot of sales on lately and have gotten most shoes for around $30 and all are suede skate shoes. hopefully they grip and last at least a month. but the new sick grip is grippier than previous waffle compounds.

You should get Last resorts they have a Nike sb blazer look but thin like cons and light and grippy like vans good shoe! I have last resorts high top I have no regrets in these shoes 👟
