I think the reason why lecrae got so much backlash was Becuase his content was barely dark. It was full of life and Jesus and he even lead a whole cliqe dedicated to romans 116 being UNASHAMED. It was the bloodline. It was the motto. NF had "moments" wich was straight up a Christian album with some dark stories but mostly a resolution and "start over" with flame as a start but thats it. He never had a cliqe or lead a team to Christ and never had merchandise that started a whole 116 movement to inspire millions to not be ashamed of Jesus. And as obviously shown hes not the happiest person so we didnt expect much exclusive Christian content as we would from crae. Hes a very motivated talented individual who struggles greatly with depression. Alittle more heavy than lecrae seeing as you compare their songs together and sound 100 percent different. I guess when lecrae started to talk about Jesus less people felt like this just wasnt the same lecrae. Thats just how i see it
Not the happiest, yeah, I definitely agree with that. Not the brightest? Nah nah nah, at least musically he's right up there. Has he made a bad business decision or comment or something?
white evangelicals really started to hate Lecrae when he started speaking in ways that couldn't ignore the fact that he was a black man that grew up an environment / neighborhood that meant he had and saw more negative encounters with police and random white people than positive. In the traditional black church he was never really accepted as saved or a Christian because he rapped and that was just not acceptable behavior. Once it was starting to become acceptable he had risen to a level of fame that he could sit at the table with people we knew not to be Christian and once again in the traditional black church, you can't openly associate with non believers. Prayerfully and gratefully the black church is moving away from a lot of those traditions and white people who are true Christians are separating themselves from politicized branch of evangelicals, where saying and being seen as a Christian despite ones behavior being antithetical to the two greatest commandments, and the only two given to us by Jesus.
Yeah probably. NF isn't, as someone mentioned in an earlier comment, in Therapy Session he says 'this music is not just for people who sit in the pews and pray at the churches, nah!' he also says in "All I Have'" 'I'm a Christian but I'm not perfect.' 'I don't live for the world, I live for the King, I live for the King, focus!' At the end of Therapy Session, once the music stops, he talks a little bit and says: I mean, I think sometimes people they confuse what I'm doing I write about life, I write about things that I'm actually dealing with Something that I'm actually experiencing, this is real for me Like this is something that personally helps me as well I'm not confused about who gave me the gift God gave me the gift and he gave me the ability to do this And he also gave me this as an outlet And that's what music is for me When I feel something, whether it's anger Um, it's a passion about something, or frustration Like this is where I go, this is, that's the whole NFrealmusic thing man This is real for me, I need this, this is a therapy for me So I think that for the most part, NF's rapping wasn't about rapping 'for God' necessarily, but it was what God gave him and it was his outlet. His way of processing the things he'd gone through, his Therapy Session. BTW, if you haven't seen many of NF's videos, I wouldn't really suggest doing so. I listen to his music but I haven't watched many of the videos at all because they make the songs a lot darker than what I take them to be. I did see Outro fully and I liked it, and everything made sense because of the bits and pieces I'd watched from various videos.
Lacrae, I got a lot of respect for what you do. Loved your new book "I am Restored." As someone who gave up music after a nervous breakdown at a young age, I've seen on a microcosm the pressure of being in the spotlight and the importance of getting healing for your trauma. Your book reassured me about getting therapy and helped me to move past some of my own church hurt.
I’ve listened to lecrae for years, and don’t really understand why lecae went there with the idea on why NF didn’t get hate but he did. Hopefully he wasn’t trying to pull a political/racial card on that one ;) The reason NF didn’t get as much hate (if any at all) was because he never identified as a Christian artist. His music was never about preaching the gospel or anything of the kind. Like many artists (even those who aren’t Christian) they mention God and a few other common things that relate to Christianity, but are not producing Christian music. NF isn’t a Christian artist, and as a Christian, I’m thankful for that. I think too many rappers are either hardcore worldly/explicit, or simply too Christian (yes that’s a thing) . It’s one thing to produce music that’s solely about the gospel and another to create music that’s about character and life experiences that people can relate to. I prefer the later. I still enjoy Christian music, but just don’t enjoy the repetitiveness of it
“ tell his people to reach out to my people” ... If Crae wanted it he would reach out and viseversa. So lets see if it happens . NF, Crae, KB & Gawvi in one track will be dope!
Man i love nf and crae man nf did some amazing things for my city of memphis. Aye crae don’t let the haters get to you all that matters is how god sees you
Lecrae and NF are saved by God . What I hate to see is when the devil intervenes people’s minds into thinking different. They both are still speaking the Gospel of Jesus Christ! They are both speaking life and neither are consumed by death. If you have anything negative to say about either you need to check yourself and pray for them instead of throw stones.
What is blantaly obvious to me with both lecrea and NF is when they rap they talk about issues and topics that are true and alot of don't wanna talk about. There both amazing rappers and give glory to god
I can’t understand people who call NF or Lecrea sellouts or say they are less Christian. In my opinion they were doing music with these mainstream artists to get attention and get people to start listening to there Christian songs. also there was nothing of the world or unchristian said in the songs that were with mainstream artist
easy answer to his question is that lecrae was a MUCH bigger influence on the CHH culture and rap game while that wasnt the case with NF. just a matter of lecrae being more of a name and influencer in CCH than NF was and i also think NF's content is a bit more built for mainstream while lecraes content was more for those in the christian community
I feel Lecrae is insinuating the differential treatment is because of race but it’s easy to see they have had vastly different careers and different fanbase.
No NF has gotten a lot of slack and was often called a sell out...he talks about it in a couple songs. I think Nathan saw and experienced a lot of negative things when he was a Christian rapper that is why he decided to leave. A lot of Christian artist are actually unhappy in the Christian music world. Nathan was able to cross over and stay true to himself and still be successful. Not all Christian artist can do that unfortunately.

He didn't really cross over though. He was able to expand on who he was without being told how to be after leaving Capital CMG. He kept doin him and he got better. Quality gets attention eventually.
I haven't listened to CHH since SFC was poppin lol and even Sup the Chemist said some stuff about the CHH scene in his book. I also heard the gospel music industry could be just as or if not even more treacherous than the secular music industry.
@@diggadirt393 Absolutely! I saw a gospel artist say like a month ago that he was thinking of going independent because the Christian music industry and labels are not what people think it is....very sad.
No one's life is perfect, I may have grew up in a Christian family but dont mean we still face hardships in the family. NF is great to listen to when your down or feeling depressed, but it's also a positive way. Lecrae uplifts me back to reconnect with God.
I feel like Lecrae did catch more slack for crossing over because he was so much more immersed in the 'Christian Hip-Hop' scene while NF distanced himself from that label once he was signed. also NF communicated his message more clearly IMO especially in his songs All I Have and Therapy Session.
Well did you ever hear Nate make songs with illuminati artist? Or with anyone really?? Lecrae got criticism cause he was 1st artist to reject being lqbel a Christian artist. And wanted people to hear him.. collabs as Ty Dollar Sign, Torir Kelly, and etc. Artist that are main stream. NF didn't do anything like that. He just got noticed and been saying he was a Christian but a Artist. He just happened to fit under CHH cause he talks about his Life and it has to do with God and struggles
@@Jo.3yy I mean the gospel isn't just for people who are already Christians so it does make sense... And when Lecrae collaborates with secular artists that's totally biblical. Paul had plenty of highly ranking friends in the Bible.
I think you paved the way. I can only listen to your music and aha gazelles music consistently because you guys are different. Your message is pure. I was on 1kphew when he made “like a birdie like a plane”. So I attract to realness. And your real. That’s why artist will collaborate with you before somebody else that’s a Christian / or believes in God . 100
I say if an artist is trying to follow God's calling for them then they already know the path or 'lane that best suits them and have a peace about it... Being about the Father's business is muli-faceted and in time... paths will cross and oportunities will present themselves.... just press on and let go... and let God... He got this!... ;)
Vut thats just the thing... do they really know the lane that best suits them? Maybe God wanted lecrea to stay in his lane. Maybe he didn't. Lecrea changing his mind about his music doesn't mean God helped him make that decision .
You should celebrate with NF your music is a mixture of Old school Hip hop banger with the Sunny Days and NF music is Deep and dark but will good vibes to his Songs. Lecrea is like Superman and NF is like Batman but when you put them together they will be and unstoppable force to be reckoned with
Since NF and Andy Mineo have a friendship I'd like to see them collaborate too. That would be interesting since Andy isn't as serious usually as NF, but they are both very honest and authentic.
What's ironic is that Lecrae STILL references God, the Scriptures and the Gospel MUCH MORE FREQUENTLY in his music than NF does. Yet he STILL gets criticized and picked on more harshly. I do agree with everyone saying that it's mainly because of Lecrae having a much larger, stronger Christian fan base early in his career than NF did. Lecrae's my man if I had to choose, but NF has some dope jams too and I think a collab between them would be fascinating.
Preach it!! I feel like with lecrea? He gets alot of flack because he's rapping about christ but also goes into areas that may seem ugly ? But are true. God is good all the time, but the bible clearly states that were gonna go through trials and tribulations. And it's gonna feel like there's times when he's not there.i feel like so many other Christians shy away from him because all they wanna hear is the bubble gum stuff.and I'm not saying God is bad? But they only wanna hear the stuff that makes them feel like if they love and serve the lord nothing will ever happen to them. Rain falls on the just the unjust. It's sad that nowadays people are listening to what they wanna hear and not what there supposed to hear
Cause nf music was always fire and his crowd never changed. He never stood up mid career to hold up awards making people second guess his motives. He never made tracks with well known degrading lyricists at least not to my knowledge. His music was so fire it was put in video games before he was even popular. He’s so good at what he does and he’s like me in my home made fun raps because he doesn’t have to mention Jesus or god every 20 seconds and there’s still no question. Obviously whenever a well known degrading lyricist mentions god in their music it’s well understood that they don’t know god and they’re just calling out to anything including possibly the universe which is still more accepted by the mainstream because they’re lost and reject direction. Nf found the crack and made it look like a chasm.
I am a huge fan of your music and I think the reason why they told you what they told you because they see greatness in you brother more power to you I think you should do what you want to do because you Poppin man .
He might reach out if he gets an idea for a collab. Hard to collab if you don't really want to, but even then I'm sure he doesn't want to completely shut down the chance. Give it time.
Although NF started like Lecrae, they were different in a lot of ways. Lecrae was more into theology than NF and that's why we were shocked by the sudden shift. Man used to rap with Flame lol, the most theological rapper i know. Now imagine after SOLA FIDE , Flame suddenly shifts and collabs with Lil Pump THAT WOULD BE CRAAAAZZZZY LOL
Exactly people dont understand that NF really doesn't see this as a career but a therapy like him talking to God thats why he didnt get as much slack but Lecrae was more of theological rapper and more ministry thats the difference between the 2 one was a theological gospel rapper while the other saw it as a way to communicate with God and a self therapy for his problems
I absolutely love both NF and Crae Their content and their characters...as we've seen at least But this comment section seems surprisingly petty, for a Lecrae and NF discussion
Amen to that and NF never came out the box saying I’m full on God. He said I’m a work in progress and I’m still working through it. You started Lacrea when you did Rehab and it fills like now that I’ve done the Jesus thing let’s see what the world has to offer.
@@tknighton23 At the end of the day they are both christian artists, coming from the same foundation. Scrutiny should've went for both sides. Lets not make excuses!
@@builtbyelohim9593 naw naw NF stated that hes a rapper who happens to be christian. where lecrae has said hes a christian rapper subtle diff but definitely a diff.
@@tk3venestros697 I'm still trying to figure out why should it matter if you flip the words around. If they don't care about labels what difference does it make. ijs
1:36 I think maybe you were the initial pioneer and it did raise a lot of questions because it wasn't the norm but I'm glad you stayed faithful through it all.
I would say NF didn't get the slack Lecrae did is that many people didn't find out about NF till he was out of that CHH box. As a young Christian I was first introduced to Lecrae so Gravity, 13 Letters, etc is what helped shape my Christianity is some aspect.
NF was signed by capitol but was never exclusively a Christian artist he's said that from the beginning. In therapy sessions, he stated his music isn't for people who sit in the pews. Whereas Lecrae started off Gospel Rap or whatever you want to call it and gained fame including a few grammies in that category so that is where he rose to acclaim but then he went a different way presumably to find a larger/different audience. So I think that is the difference in the treatment of these individuals. Nf at this point is mainstream whereas Lecrae still is more of a niche artist. I don't see them collaborating since NF doesn't like to be labeled a Christian rapper and doing a song with Lecrae doesn't help that perception. Plus NF is selective in his collabs which makes it more interesting when he does. I think he and hopspin are collaborating which is interesting to me since they both spoke openly about their mental health issues and suicidal thoughts.
"Half of the things i think would.... take six years" ---snippet. "Perpare for the chance that you may have might show up to your door. One night like..(knock, knock) im here" "Gonna let me in or just stare, Its clear, yea six would opt out and not come close to the content of my ears" August 5th 2014🗝 August 5th 2020?🗝
August 5th 6 years ago. NF put his first album. Which was an EP. EP is half of an album. And Music is NF thoughts. NF also put out a video on may . The beginning of May. And it was 30 secs. And it showed 3 balloons 🎈 (black balloons) and in each balloon was 8. 5. 11 . He then deleted it very fast. He later on that week put out his latest snipp👌🗝🧊🗝
I think for all the things Crae would normally say about a different artist... everything he DIDN'T say speaks volume here. He didn't say a word about NF's music or style whereas I think he'd normally say 'he's got some dope music. I rock wit it." Seems sort of obvious he isn't a huge fan of what NF has been doing and/or they haven't gotten along in the past. "He's doing his thing" haha. Either way he doesn't have to like NF or his music or anything, just thought it was interesting.
Crae paved a way for NF. He did take the bullets for NF especially. Lecrae gets criticized because people loved an idea of Lecrae. Being the Christian rapper they go look to, cause they can’t look at theme selves. They need a hero an idol. They put Lecrae on a pedestal. NF people don’t put him on the same pedestal because many Christians didn’t look to NF to be a hero. They look to him for relatability. Unfortunately many didn’t look to crae to be relatable in struggle. Many look to him to be the guy that has it together when they don’t.
Nah, it's the style. Lecrae has more of a mainstream style whereas NF seems to consistently subvert expectations while living up to expectations. I also think that NF was able to reach a new base of people that almost all christian rappers couldnt. My opinion.
They should deff collab. NF caught a lot of flak for his crossover though. His fan base is hella loyal a pops hard when he drop even a hint of something. And when he does. I do think the come up was similar though. Not the same, but similar.
I feel like the main reason why Christians came at you lecrae is because you were the first person to do something like that, at that point of time we still have a lot of old school believers who just don't want anything to do with connecting non believer artist, but now it's like calm down so when NF came around it wasn't that big of a deal, you definitely open new doors for ways to minister through your music and yes that means do music with non believers, it's part of paving the way for the Lord.
I think the reason why they haven’t worked together is because their styles don’t match at all. They’re both rappers from the same “category” but the way both do their music is very different, I hope they collab one day
God chose to extend and prolong Lacrae's journey to peace, success, and restoration and he is a better man for it. Often we compare ourselves to another and wonder why someone else's journey appears to go more smoothly, forgetting to thank God for taking that extra time in order to refine us. The more obstacles Christ walks us through... the more our character is tried, tested, and shaped into someone great.
@William Lattimore mind you criticism is criticism, don't try to make one seem more than the other they are the same period. Also all races have privilege of skin depending on where they are from sadly its not neutral to white people. Love how race is brought up in context it doesn't matter. Especially when its religion and doesn't come into play within this conversation. But since you brought it up nf had to come up on music in which the rap industry caters to non white artists over any other. All while your wrong. Cute with the opinion and making race an issue. ;) do better bud.
@William Lattimore I don't think it's the race thing. More people just vibe with NF outside the CHH circle and he tends to have his strongest fan base on the other side. Plus the young man is good too! Don't forget that people compare him a lot with Eminem and this is a publicity addition for him. Crae on the other hand, even when he went mainstream, had more CHH fans and church people. But this circle that is meant to be the most graceful tends to be the most toxic. Funny!
@William Lattimore Just my two cents- I get peeved when I see people saying NF is one of the goats because he's just not even close. Likewise Lecrae has songs chock-full of relavant and biblical ideas all displayed in these great raps and people pass him up as being a little "too Christian". Anyways what you said is very accurate. I always feel Crae is underrated for his bars, just like any Christian rapper (rapper who professes faith, blah blah blah), and you can see it in the listens on Spotify. People like Andy Mineo, too. Most Christians want a very specific type of music from a specific type of person. With Andy (who is a pretty great lyricist, and WOW have you seen his freestyles?) people only want gym music with clean lyrics. Which is sad. These guys have so much more to offer than that, especially when you have the freedom to go listen to a Kendrick, JID, whoever song whenever you're working out. People just put themselves in boxes even though the law was abolished literally 2000 years ago, which is a shame for the artists.
I just enjoy music. All this "They came from that way" and "They did this and that to get here" or whatever people talk about is just gossip as far as I'm concerned. Just listen to music and enjoy it without getting pulled into the drama behind it. No disrespect to anyone at all whatsoever. Some people just take things way more seriously than they need to, especially when it doesn't apply to their life.
Both great Artist. I grew up listening to CHH and Lecrae is still one of my favorite artist. Lecrae I heard the gospel or Jesus with alp most every song. Lecrae did cross over to more secular. He got backlashed for it. NF started out as a “Christian rapper” but I rarely heard the gospel or Jesus in any of his songs. I think that’s why NF didn’t get backlash because his music was already on the Secular side.
Idk why I just kinda get this vibe that Lecrae doesn't really like NF. I don't think he's jealous or anything I just don't think he and NF get along very well for some reason just by the way his tone sounds when answering some of these questions. Just my opinion tho
I will break it down lecrae why you got flack. "I know you'd probably be impressed if I cleverly used my melody To share Christ without using His name heavily But I'd rather be saying His name so much you could never get me confused Or discredit me" this was you real talk.
an nf x lecrae collab would be awesome, but they have very different styles so idk... but at the same time it would be such a huge collab i doubt anyone would care if it sounded wack
I don’t think Lecrae sees that an NF/Lecrae track would be the Christian Hip Hop version equivalent of those Lil Wayne/Eminem tracks with a Black/White unity in HipHop
Lecrea, to answer your question, you need to understand that to most of us, your the OG of Christian rap. You paved the way and in most eyes became the first Headlined Christian Rapper. That being said, (and not to compare you to Jesus but I'm using the reference for the "mentor-mentee structure...) Andy Mineo, Trip Lee, KB, Tadashi, Flame, NF, Dax, etc... are all your "disciples" if you will. All apart of the same crew and generation; all on equal footing. But the path was already made for them man... God used you as the "Daniel" of Rap and blessed you with friends that would be willing to step into the furnace with you. But as soon as the "Mentor" slips up and starts graying the line between right and wrong; good and evil... the mentee will "take a mile," to finish the quote "Give them an inch and they..." Hence why Jesus HAD to be perfect! To set those clear "wrongs and rights." Again, not comparing you to Jesus.... lol Stay Blessed my man! ~It is a choice... ✌
Just foune lecrae and so far I like him. . Im no christian tho. Actually I've seen few ppl give nf flack for being "A sellout" bcuz he doesnt mention jesus n god as much. N honestly he's said himself that he doesn't talk "to god" as much and his music isn't Christian but abt his life n mental health or whatever he's going through. He doesn't want to be labeled as christian rapper either. He may had his start as christian rapper but like any other person.. his growth took a different turn over the years.. he even questions alot abt his earlier music like his first album of things he wish he wouldn't have written or should. Just watch his NME interview and all questions will be answered.. Tech n9ne however wants to collab with lecrae!
LOVE CRAE, LOVE NF. Both are super talented and both have been purchased by the blood, as fruit seems to show. I think NF didn't get the backlash as bad though because Lecrae was a way-paver. I think Lecrae was/has been more obviously vocal with his love for Jesus Christ. Pretty simple. That doesn't mean NF isn't a Christian, duh, but the more you align your audible speech with God's word and call others to change/repent/follow, the more scrutiny/backlash will come your way. "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus to all of my haters. To the ones who think I forgot Him and the ones who won't let me say it. I ain't scared..."
I think NF didn't get as much flak as you for going more mainstream because he wasn't as popular when he did the Moments album as you were when you did Rebel. They just didn't know him like that first. I did. But I like any uplifting rap and hip hop. Love both NF and Lecrae.
I think regardless of NF maybe going more mainstream, he never lost his sound. Where as Lecrae may have started adopting other sounds, and it was easier to call him a sell out
JJ Kingman JJ Kingman that’s very debatable. Every time either of these artists put out projects, the critics come out when it comes to the direction they’re going in. It’s never not happened with either of them.
JJ Kingman it is debatable because nothing you’re stating is factual and anytime these artists drop projects they will be met with the same critics. It’s quite simple to understand. Neither NFs nor Lecraes critics have gone anywhere. And this is just in reference to the ones who criticize their “going mainstream” and branching away from “CHH”. Overall NF is the more criticized artist in various ways and that’s evident. NF has an overpowering fan base to come to his defense but that doesn’t stop the critics from coming out, that just means his fans are passionate.
@JJ. Well did you ever hear Nate make songs with illuminati artist? Or with anyone really?? Lecrae got criticism cause he was 1st artist to reject being lqbel a Christian artist. Im sorry but do uou know what the illuminati is. They are arent followers of God and they make hand symbols to explort that they are Part. And they are all main stream. Ty Dollar Sign you telling me is not illuminati. Everyone knew Kanye, Jay Z and famous people were part of it. Kanye I believe got a changed of Heart cause he was never like this. Tori Kelly did seem to come back. But main stream artist are part of it💯
No didn't take the same slack as lecrae did because that's how it works it takes one artist to break a barrier lecrae was the first Christian rapper to cross over and it was controversial at the time but after he did that he paved the way and opened ppls minds
I think NF started with less Christianese and really built his following after he switched to mainly talking about depression and his life in that light. I respect it, making art in that way that is still clean and Godly but not necisarily doing it as ministry by the lyrics. I think what Lecrae did in Restoration strikes the best balance. Being bold in telling his own story of redemption but not being abrasive or cocky about it.
Nah Lecrae has bars he's just not white and isn't a speed/battle rapper so it's less recognized. Same goes for a lot of the secular hip hop community, white people get into rap because of eminem but they don't realize there are different kinds of talent in the rap game and Em is only one kind.
Morgan Freeman no I think Lecrae is talented I like his older stuff way better I think is new stuff isn’t very good he’s kinda conformed to the new style which I think is kinda trash I personally think NF lyrics are better and his music sounds better that’s my opinion
I disagree!!! NF can only rap about being depressed and wanting to be the greatest rapper ever. His last three albums he talked about the same stuff over and over!! Lecrae is diversed and his music is by far more enjoyable!!!!
@@GodzWarriah NF doesn't want to be the greatest rapper ever? He's literally said in multiple songs that he doesn't want to be the top, he's happy to be the underdog
They gave NF slack because NF blew up with more secular listeners with songs like “All I have” and “Wake Up” that aren’t so clear cut Christian where as in Lecrae start with Real talk and blew up with that and Jesus Muzik
Lecrae built up a following over 10+ years with very Christ-centered music, then started to cross over. NF had no where near the following Lecrae had in "CHH" - his first album release had a more secular feel (even though it was under a Christian label), so in a sense he was introduced to the world as secular. ....that's why.
Reading all the comments, y'all act like you never heard his song old mix tape song bout Jesus before he was sign and his testimony about going to he pastor how he should stop rapping secular. You all claim to be NF fans but don't know his true self before all the dope music.

I’d like to see Lecrae and NF cross genres into rap rock or rap worship. Those would be so tight. Do a collab with Skillet or Elevation. Maybe a duo with Lindsey Stirling or Sarah Reeves. That’s how you get more fans.

@@codyc9197 what happend?
white evangelicals really started to hate Lecrae when he started speaking in ways that couldn't ignore the fact that he was a black man that grew up an environment / neighborhood that meant he had and saw more negative encounters with police and random white people than positive.
To be fair I think NF has more secular fans and Lecrae has more Christian fans and that’s probably why his flack is and was more than NF’s
Exactly 🎯
Yeah probably. NF isn't, as someone mentioned in an earlier comment, in Therapy Session he says 'this music is not just for people who sit in the pews and pray at the churches, nah!' he also says in "All I Have'" 'I'm a Christian but I'm not perfect.' 'I don't live for the world, I live for the King, I live for the King, focus!'
At the end of Therapy Session, once the music stops, he talks a little bit and says:
I mean, I think sometimes people they confuse what I'm doing
I write about life, I write about things that I'm actually dealing with
Something that I'm actually experiencing, this is real for me
Like this is something that personally helps me as well
I'm not confused about who gave me the gift
God gave me the gift and he gave me the ability to do this
And he also gave me this as an outlet
And that's what music is for me
When I feel something, whether it's anger
Um, it's a passion about something, or frustration
Like this is where I go, this is, that's the whole NFrealmusic thing man
This is real for me, I need this, this is a therapy for me
So I think that for the most part, NF's rapping wasn't about rapping 'for God' necessarily, but it was what God gave him and it was his outlet. His way of processing the things he'd gone through, his Therapy Session. BTW, if you haven't seen many of NF's videos, I wouldn't really suggest doing so. I listen to his music but I haven't watched many of the videos at all because they make the songs a lot darker than what I take them to be. I did see Outro fully and I liked it, and everything made sense because of the bits and pieces I'd watched from various videos.
bruce tenhave the first part what song is that I don’t remember

@@matthewcooley4258 what do you mean? sorry I don't know what you mean
Andy & NF collab is my dream!! 😭🙌🏾🔥
Coming In Hot
100% agreed
I’ve listened to lecrae for years, and don’t really understand why lecae went there with the idea on why NF didn’t get hate but he did.
Hopefully he wasn’t trying to pull a political/racial card on that one ;)
The reason NF didn’t get as much hate (if any at all) was because he never identified as a Christian artist. His music was never about preaching the gospel or anything of the kind.
Like many artists (even those who aren’t Christian) they mention God and a few other common things that relate to Christianity, but are not producing Christian music.
NF isn’t a Christian artist, and as a Christian, I’m thankful for that.
I think too many rappers are either hardcore worldly/explicit, or simply too Christian
(yes that’s a thing) .
It’s one thing to produce music that’s solely about the gospel and another to create music that’s about character and life experiences that people can relate to.
I prefer the later.
I still enjoy Christian music, but just don’t enjoy the repetitiveness of it
And Boom you've have said it all..
“ tell his people to reach out to my people” ... If Crae wanted it he would reach out and viseversa. So lets see if it happens . NF, Crae, KB & Gawvi in one track will be dope!
Angel Arzuaga bruh i would play that daily
Is what it is, but yeah, he easily could. Just have andy and nf do a collab, as he said that they're tight, nf and andy can SPIT!
Exactly
I feel Lecrae is insinuating the differential treatment is because of race but it’s easy to see they have had vastly different careers and different fanbase.
Lecrae: Breathes
"FANS:" Throw a tantrum... 🙄
Honest
Exactly. It's infuriating. People with limited understanding about life, ministry, and Christ have no right to talk about him.
Barely. Do dont even come with bs

NF for when I'm depressed and in my own head. Lecrae when I have reconnected with the Universe and I'm happy 🙏❤
Connect to the Creator, not to the creation. We praise and thank Jesus Christ, the Song of God, our Father. He is our hope, our future.
Dude yes I really would love to see them make a song together!!!!
Crae paves the way for people like NF and parris chariz and the whole new wave of CHH having more mainstream sound
How? By basically saying they are not Christians artists, but are Christians just so they could become more popular?
Joey Gutierrez Ah you’re one of those. Do me a favor stop listening if you don’t like em

Lecrea is like Superman and NF is like Batman but when you put them together they will be and unstoppable force to be reckoned with
Bro We need Lecrae and NF to make a song
"I didn't say that, YOU said that!" Love how lecrae said this 🤣.
Much love to you Lecrae!
Definitely 2 of my favs
You paved the way legend. That's why
💯 💯 💯 💯
Nf found the crack and made it look like a chasm.
i loved this video Crae, much love
I am a huge fan of your music and I think the reason why they told you what they told you because they see greatness in you brother more power to you I think you should do what you want to do because you Poppin man .
Someone has to reach out to someone. Each side is saying they're waiting for the other to reach out to the other. Nothing will ever happen like that.
Artists pride..
She said lil pump😂😂😂
I absolutely love both NF and Crae
Their content and their characters...as we've seen at least
But this comment section seems surprisingly petty, for a Lecrae and NF discussion
They did say that. People called him a sell out.
I don't like that... LeCrae still my man.
not as much as crae
Good questions.
We still waiting for the collaboration though
Great point Lecrae.
Lol. Lecrae. You're held to a higher standard theologically. Keep at it. It makes you stronger.
Its probably because you blatantly said that you would never stop talking about jesus in your music basically.... No hate, js.
Amen to that and NF never came out the box saying I’m full on God. He said I’m a work in progress and I’m still working through it. You started Lacrea when you did Rehab and it fills like now that I’ve done the Jesus thing let’s see what the world has to offer.

Lol. Praise the Lord!
NF and Hopsin are collabing on NF new album👌

Crae carry your cross great you got this
Crae paved a way for NF.
I know that feeling way too well
Lecrae, Andy Minio and NF? That sound would make my phone blow up from the 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nah, it's the style. Lecrae has more of a mainstream style whereas NF seems to consistently subvert expectations while living up to expectations. I also think that NF was able to reach a new base of people that almost all christian rappers couldnt. My opinion.
NF is in his own lane , anybody comes at him is well u know.....
NF is truly unashamed.
I think nf gets knocked for his religious aspect and even had to state hes a rapper who's a Christian. Not a Christian rapper. That's context eh.
Funny!
@William Lattimore
Just my two cents- I get peeved when I see people saying NF is one of the goats because he's just not even close.
Lecrae dropping facts
Idk why I just kinda get this vibe that Lecrae doesn't really like NF. I don't think he's jealous or anything I just don't think he and NF get along very well for some reason just by the way his tone sounds when answering some of these questions. Just my opinion tho
I will break it down lecrae why you got flack. "I know you'd probably be impressed if I cleverly used my melody
To share Christ without using His name heavily
But I'd rather be saying His name so much you could never get me confused
Or discredit me" this was you real talk.
I love lacrea lyrics cuz he's doing for God
an nf x lecrae collab would be awesome, but they have very different styles so idk... but at the same time it would be such a huge collab i doubt anyone would care if it sounded wack
Lecrae, we saw ur transition. NF started mainstream.
I don’t think Lecrae sees that an NF/Lecrae track would be the Christian Hip Hop version equivalent of those Lil Wayne/Eminem tracks with a Black/White unity in HipHop
Yooo andy and nf 🔥
1:25 truth🔥🔥
Lecrea step away from God, NF step back to God
But as soon as the "Mentor" slips up and starts graying the line between right and wrong; good and evil... the mentee will "take a mile," to finish the quote "Give them an inch and they..."
Hence why Jesus HAD to be perfect! To set those clear "wrongs and rights." Again, not comparing you to Jesus.... lol
Stay Blessed my man!
Yes, "NF". I would love you to do a song together with him. (-: To answer your question Hmmmm.
Im glad Crae spoke on the ridicule out in the open though lol.
Lecrae needs to collaborate with Buddy too
I think regardless of NF maybe going more mainstream, he never lost his sound. Where as Lecrae may have started adopting other sounds, and it was easier to call him a sell out
NF got his share of backlash.
@JJ.

No=nf lol
You know what Im sayin!
Lacrae Funny 😅
Real question is when Andy and NF collab
please please please collab my 2 faviourte rappers
Y’all haven’t collabed because NF is on a way higher level my friend
True dat
Dude, there is beef between nf and lecrae. Research!! Listen to turn my back on hope. Its about lecrae.
Reading all the comments, y'all act like you never heard his song old mix tape song bout Jesus before he was sign and his testimony about going to he pastor how he should stop rapping secular. You all claim to be NF fans but don't know his true self before all the dope music.
Most die heard fans now don't even know NF's core Christian songs.... Flame even featured him on one of his songs.

Tbf a lot of NF's old stuff is pretty bad, though I like his song with Flame. Not to say it's like awful or undeserving of a listen, I just didn't like it as much.
@@morganfreeman544 are you a believer in Christ Jesus jw because not just what you say but your picture of a non believe but a Scientology believer. Most of NF music at first was more about Jesus but now a little toward a audience that not believer but broken and depress he want to bring the gospel to those
The person who said NF isn't that great.. they don't know his best albums obviously
haha Ooh yeah nooo
I’d like to see Lecrae and NF cross genres into rap rock or rap worship. Those would be so tight. Do a collab with Skillet or Elevation. Maybe a duo with Lindsey Stirling or Sarah Reeves. That’s how you get more fans.
Lecrae’s actually done a song with Sterling. “Don’t Let This Feeling Fade” which included him and Rivers Cuomo, and he showed up with Skillet and Tedashii at Tobymac’s “Jesus Freak Reunion”
@@natrix.555 Lecrae, Kanye, & Tauren?? Song about grace, hope, faith and love cancelling cancel culture.
The thing is you mention more God then NF does even though yall both are Christians but NF mostly dosent mention it but either he sounds like a secular rapper because the way he raps and gives his message is very deep and positive compare with other rappers
I can't say who's more holly then who but in your music you mention more your faith in your life and he mentions more about his own life with sometimes mentioning God
Let me ask you this Lecrea.... What do YOU think that is?
wow Lecrae I (was) am a fan of you but when you wanna start crying over who got shit for this or shit for that... everyone journey different focus on your lane bro. He killin his. #checkyourselfLacrae
