It’s because of the constant changes of the rules (I don’t call them ‘laws’ because rugby is a sport, not a posh saying from a lawyers’ institution) it continues a struggle to gain new fans = don’t know what the heck is going on, on the field. That’s why there is not much money in rugby 😢compared to the most established pro sports that earn way more cause the rules in their sports is easy to understand to the masses.

Such a good point. The regular changes add to the already complex rule book and as you said perhaps put new followers off. Even for the biggest fans, this can sometimes leave us 🤯

Problem is rugby has always struggled financially. Also because there is no recognized permanent global calender for whole world it's hard to attract new fans, it's also a young professional sport.

Totally agree. Hopefully the sport can find a way to push on. Many domestic leagues are struggling too which is cause for concern

You may not rate him but he is a popular member of the international player community and coaches like him because he follows gameplans . Aside from playing he has a fantastic rugby brain tipped as a future coach and provides experience and leadership. Sponsers endorse him because of his rugby achievements , profile and marketability.

Man, it's sad to see the low salaries, especially with all the wear on the body with the physicality of the sport... Thank you for the video, it's sad but shows that they are willing to play for low wages for the love of the sport..

Not one Irish player in the top 10, yet over the last 3 years they have been the most consistent team in world rugby. Truth is Irish and french players are all extremely highly paid and thats why they don’t need to go in search of big money short term contracts…
