    Moving back to Costa Rica at the top of the year and I'm considering Puerto Viejo instead of Quepos this time. Thanks for the good info!

I'm originally from Jamaica but have lived here in US most of my life. Are there a LOT of Iguanas there? Volcanos? Afraid of both.😊 Thanks for the info.

    The "jamaicans" you said that live in Puerto Viejo are not Jamaicans, they are Costaricans. Their grandparents came from Jamaica and were Jamaicans but they re born and raised in CR, so they are Costaricans. Costaricans grand and great grand parents came from all over the world.

    • @naturallynam
      @naturallynam  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      They claim both Jamaican and Costa Rican heritage. It's a big rasta community, heavy on the rasta!

    • @susanafernandez4164
      @susanafernandez4164 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@naturallynam yes indeed they have the rasta culture and spread it all over the country, that's why CR is kind of rasta. Been there hundreds of times. I'm on my 40s now but when i was in my 20s (before raggaeton) , jamaican dancehall was the most popular music all over CR. Jamaican artists came to perform in CR many many times. I'm from San Jose. if u ask one of them "are u costarican or jamaican ? " they ll say "i'm costarican and my grandparents were jamaicans"

      my parents are born and raised in Grenada. I was born in America. I am a Grenadian because my family are Grenadians. I was raised as a Grenadian while I lived in America. Although I am aware of American culture I don’t connect to it because I was raised with a West Indian culture. And my children as well because that’s all we know. In fact, I relocated to Grenada, where I’m a citizen, because in their eyes I AM a Grenadian. Just as those people are Jamaicans.
