I got the album when it first came out. The orchestration on the studio version was a bit too lush for my taste, so I really appreciate this acoustic version!
I've been looking for this for 20 years. I'd originally gotten from....yes....Napster, and burnt it to a CDR. Lost both the file and the CDR eventually and have checked periodically since then to no avail. Thank you.
Happy to oblige! But looking for twenty years? Damn! Why not just mail-order the compact disc from Discogs or eBay? Hell, I've never even had to order it to find this CD, and I have like three copies. It turns up periodically in like Amoeba or Rasputin's. It's out of print, yeah, but a fair enough amount were made that it can be found pretty cheaply ($10-20) and easily - considering that it's not incredibly sought after despite being his best recorded concert in common memory.
You are, I'm afraid, indisputably wrong against the reproach of hard fact. The album title is There and Now: Live in Vancouver 1968, this is true - probably due to a mistake or perhaps to sell on '68 being the most important year in Phil's career. The concert is, however, plainly documented by all other sources to be from March of 1969. It's mentioned in my description, as well. You can look it up, too. Happy listening! :)
Thanks for sharing great Phil Ochs songs. Great channel.
He’s so great at weaving great poetic lyrics with lovely melodies ….

This is one of the greatest songs of all time.
Fantastic CD. My favorite live set by Phil Ochs.

I could have sworn it was 1968; maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
