I actually love the form factor of the Hori Alpha, I find it super comfortable to rest my palms on, there's plenty of room and it's not too big for me. As for the Qanbas, I think all 3 should be $40-50 cheaper, the drone 2 for $80-100, the Titan for $170-180 and the Obsidian 2 for $250 would make a lot more sense and the sticks would be a lot more desirable than they are now. About the Victrix, as you comment it's a shame they didn't take the opportunity to add the L3/R3 buttons. It's also worrying that it seems that the new PS5 versions tend to have a higher than expected fail ratio. However, just because of the chassis and its construction they play in a different league.

    • @Aignith
      @Aignith ปีที่แล้ว +8

I think the absence of L3 and R3 on the Victrix is unforgivable. It's like they know how to build stuff but they have no idea about fighting games.

@@Aignith you can program the pro button to be either L3 or R3. I was about to return mine till I found that out. It's a feature of the stick so you don't need steam configs or third party apps.

Hori Alpha is just a all around great stick that you previously brought up with price and how easy it's to mod. I'm in the process of customizing my Alpha sticks and the easy access it offers to do that is fast. I do want an obsidian 2 but would have to save up for that bad boy but for now the Hori Alpha will be my main for the time being😊 Love your videos and thank you for the hard work you put into your videos to keep everyone informed.

My two favorite commercial sticks are Victrix pro fs and the Nacon Daija. The Obsidian 2 is good, but the cable is not detachable, changing the artwork requires you to purchase a clear plastic cover (they have them at Focus Attack), there’s not a lot of room for the joystick so I was unable to use the crown 2d 3D lever and the black plexiglass gets easily smudged. It does have a nice weight to it though making it stable. The Victrix and the Daija took into consideration that your wrists rest on the joystick after hours of play. The Victrix curved aluminum is comfortable and it stays cool. The Daija has a pad to rest your wrists on.

Thank you for checking all of these fight sticks. i was sold on the Drone 2 til i read your review, then after your Drone 2 explanation i was sold on the Fightstick alpha, and after that i was sold on the Titan and that's more or less where i am - because the reason you stated, it might feel wrong as i hold it on my lap and im 6'2. but i also get a bit of wrist pain in my current situation with the Razer Panthera, which mind you is an amazing fightstick. i paid $200 for it years ago, and id consider it to be a "heavy weight" stick. so i figured if i go with something a bit lightweight, maybe more ergonomic id be able to play more comfortably. Titan looks amazing for that, and the quality of the parts are good too, its more or less a better version of Drone 2 if your review is anything to go by. in my heart sure i kinda want the obsidian 2, but i fear id run into the same issues as the razer panthera causes me now.

I have the titan and I bought it because I forgot my controller at evo, someone lended me a titan and immediately felt comfortable playing with it, so I went to a booth and got it for 200.
Love the weight and grip vs the drone, the stick separation is a plus for me as well, besides that it is an overall upgrade. I didn't even know it had the new jlf sanwa lever until after I had bought the thing. I also like the matte black look
I think you can't go wrong with the titan

Fightsticks are outdated overpriced scam trash. Basic ps5 controller dominates in fighting games now, and to think something less than 16 switches on piece of plexy glass is $300 is hilarious, get with the times guys, anyone under 35 never “played arcade” so thats what their used to, you played console at home on your pads.

It's strange how the games and sticks have kind of inverted this generation.
SFIV/PS3 era - high-quality game with a ton of high-quality arcade stick options
SFV/PS4 era - Street Fighter was very bare-bones and Esports focused, but tons of high-quality sticks with their own characteristics.
SF6/PS5 era - the game is insanely over-the-top, polished, high budget and loaded with content, but so many of the arcade sticks this generation, particularly from qanba, seem to be very bare-bones and straightforward, even with Quality Parts.

The Hori Fighting Stick Alpha was an easy choice for me. Just affordable and has everything you need. Qanba has really inflated their products to way beyond afforadable means. The Drone started as a good beginner stick and now it's asking for a premium price. The Titan and Obsidian 2 are close to the Dragon price, but the Dragon definitely felt more luxury. Victrix on the other hand...I don't know what they're thinking. The fact it plays on PS5 natively suddenly makes it worth $100 more than the PS4 equivalent?
TBH if you don't have a stick and want one. Hori is the way to go. If you have a previous fightstick from the last gen then just get the Brook PS5 converter it's cheaper. I bought the Hori before even seeing information about the converter. I hope Hori comes back w/a more premium version of their sticks like they did with the Fighting Edge last gen. I know it'll probably be a better choice and still under Qanba's price offers.

There's also that Nacon Daija 2/White PS5 stick but I understand that it's more of a European market only item (it's like a Razer Panthera but slightly smaller) for about 290 euro.
Yeah for price and brand, I would pick the Hori FS Alpha out of all of them due to familiarity of the Hori Real Arcade Pro.N, it's form factor resembles a thicker box shape to the FS Alpha and I believe that Hori also has a companion app for it to custom profiles and bindings. My current sticks for this generation are my Padhacked Victrix replicate and Hori Fighting Edge (2017/PS4).

If I could have features. I loved the way MadCatz TE2 stick was done. They did make the TE3 but it won't work with the PS5. Would love to see a version created for with a selector switch for PS5, 4, 3, and PC. Have a True 8 Position Joystick included with a selector for Thumbstick, and Left Joystick. Lockout feature. I loved the screw on locking feature for the USB cord of the Madcatz TE2. Same idea could be applied for a USB type C. Have the Ball or Bat Top screw on top for the Joystick and have the ability to lock it so it won't unscrew. Dewalt makes a great design of how the phillips bits are held in the drill. DEWALT 8V MAX Cordless Screwdriver Kit, Gyroscopic, 2 Batteries, Electric (DCF680N2). Have the locking and unlocking ability to remove the stick like this drill does would be an awesome feature. It holds in 8 sided bits very well and they don't wobble at all. Buttons that can be back lit. They could light the position of the joystick as well with arrows that light up. Extra buttons on the top is the best placement vs back buttons of the TE2. The ability to have artwork installed on the front cover like the TE2 has. Fingerprint resistant plastic. The wideness over too vertical. Slide proof padding underneath. A mounting stand that is adjustable to ones sitting height that is stable or standing height and can lock the controller to it and be able to adjust the pitch of the controller from flat to slightly tilted and is very stable. Can collapse and be put into a carrying bag. Access to the parts inside and can fold up the USB cable and joystick tops inside the case for transport or storage. Also make a version of the hand held controller that is like the same layout as the 8 buttons on top and the left thumb controller. The miniture joystick on the left side is harder to control in street fighter series like games on those kinds of controllers. Can still have all the other buttons like they normally are for other games. Just more options for configuring what is most comfortable for each person of where they like certain buttons. Maybe the others could be used to program for two or 3 buttons being hit at the same time for one button for the extras. Since Street Fighter like games give those options. Such as two buttons at the same time for throws could be one button. They could always add more buttons to the sticks to allow for programming those ideas as well. I noticed in SFV that there were more programming button configurations than there were buttons available. So making a controller that can have more buttons to cover everything would be a great idea. It is just a matter of finding where to place them that would make the controller the most comfortable to use. Spacing is a key thing and button size is also something to consider. Don't want the buttons to be too big so that people with small hands have trouble reaching them. 3 rows of buttons would be great and the ones used the most should be at the bottom two layers. Less used buttons for multi-button combo press ones could be positioned at the top row. I've seen controllers in the past that has the ability to rotate knobs to control the rate of rapid fire before on NES and SNES systems before. I created my own modification for the Sega master system. It allowed the sega genesis controller to be plugged into it and it worked. A, B, and C did the same thing for D, E, and F buttons. All I had to do is cut the traces and wire up 555 timer circuits and place pots and capacitors in and solder and I had a way to create adjustable rapid fire. I did the in the Rocky Game for Sega Master System. The Speedbag training I was able to get max and got my skills up to max before I had to verse Ivan Drago. It was a project I did when I went to Eastland Career Center in electronics. Was a great learning experience applying what I learned in school, before controllers like this were being created.
