The modern Bond movies are trash. Daniel Craig Bond movies are as enjoyable as a trip to the Dentist. The Roger Moore films achieved a good balance that made them enjoyable.

Govinda didn't die. On the way down he used the knife to kill several eagles, quickly skinned them, and used their hides along with his turban as a makeshift parachute just before he hit the ground.
Love this movie, but I do think Khan should have jumped out the plane at the same time as Bond. Then, a really interesting fight scene could have been done. Personally, this is probably my favourite Bond movie. Roger Moore is not perceived as a classic Bond - more of a "box office phenomenon". However, he really kept the series going, and if you think about it, he acted consistently well in each of the Bond pictures. As much as I idolise Dalton - would he have been capable of doing seven successful Bond movies?
I agree with u there...also if the fight between gobinda and bond was more physical in mid air instead of waving the knife at him, it would have been great, along with the interesting fight u mentioned between bond and khan

Add the legal issues which prevented him from doing The Property of Lady and GoldenEye and you can see why he dropped out altogether. Besides, I like both Living Daylights and Licence to Kill.
I'll take this imaginative "real stunt" over CGI any day. Octopussy is an awesome movie and only gets derided by some critics because of a few corny moments here and there that if they were edited out would add up to like one minute of the 130 minute film.
That yell from Gobinda was the same from the assassin at the beginning of Moonraker and would later be used for Necros as he fell to his death in The Living Daylights.

they had so much luck while filming this, they only had one model for the plane to crash and when they tried, not all of the cameras were rolling and they were lucky to get some pictures out of the scene at all!

"A View to a Kill" was almost a copycat of Octopussy in several ways: Kahn is not so psychopath as Max Zorin (wich was a nazi-experiment product) but the character of Kabir Bedi/Gobinda, tall, athletic, exotic and mysterious, has been totally reprised, in female version, by Grace Jones/May Day. The final battle, for both movies, happens in the sky, here on the Khan's airplane and in AVTAK on the Zorin's Airship, in both movies Moore is outside trying to get inside and saving the bondgirl, the battle on the Golden Gate with Zorin's falls is clearly inspired to the battle with Gobinda wich in fact, fall down just like Zorin. In the end of the day Octopussy is a better movie than AVTAK but as villain, Zorin is unforgettable compared to Khan. Probably was better to use the way more iconic Bedi/Gobinda as villain, since his monumental presence, and Kahn as henchman. Obviously IMHO and with all due respect.
Yes, and imagine a world where people actually had judged the Stuka dive bomber from its actual effectiveness. Its bark was a lot worse than its bite so to speak. Dreadfully slow with poor maneuverability. The British even shot them down with outdated pre-war biplanes such as the Gloster Gladiator. But fair enough, fears aren't rational and some people fear barking dogs even though they're never bitten by one.
