Baby Keem is such a talented young artist. So far his solo music is sort of all over the place, but I can see him reaching his potential little by little and having an upward trajectory comparable to Tyler the Creator over the next decade or so. He has the passion, the talent, and the taste for it. And one hell of a mentor in Kendrick Lamar.

The album was very experimental, I appreciate it more than almost every album that’s released this year especially. Just for that, I had such a great first listen to it. Enjoyed almost every track. But, of course he did have his highs and lows and some tracks felt like there was something missing. 8.3/10

I’ve listened about three times through and there’s a couple forgettable tracks and a couple more tracks I’d consider “bad”, but even then, they’re still experimental and I appreciate the effort he put forth on the album. The biggest flaw for me was the lack of identity that the album had. I could even drop the album to a solid 7.8 because of that after a couple more listens.

I feel better about artists being experimental earlier in their career than before because with no precedent it allows them to try their hand at a bunch of things without being criticized for not delivering what they are known for. I think this is good set up for progressive artistry like Tyler where you don’t expect one thing from him and where you’ll never end up with a CLB project where it’s basically the same thing you have gotten in the past and is an indicator that it’s what’s coming up for the foreseeable future.
That’ll just lead to a lack of signature sound , if an artist doesn’t have that sound that they’re amazing at and nobody can do it just like them they’ll just end up being a footnote in the game. Everybody knows what a Kanye song is, what a travis song is, what a carti song is, what a drake song is. This is just keem doing a bunch of things not particularly well.

I was forcing myself to like some of these songs - was expecting more hooligan, 16, BULLY and HONEST - where Keem thrives best. He can destroy asw don't get me wrong, but how was this album melodic blues, I wanted that 'scapegoats' theme throughout.

Range brothers and scars could just be the 2 Best tracks of the album.... id say scapegoat, family ties, scars, issues, trademark America are the Best tracks for me.
I feel like this album will definitely grow on people more as time goes on. I personally loved this album and it's a top 5 for me this year even though some tracks could definitely be cut just to condense the album into something more cohesive, for me, there aren't any skips.
the reason people arent feeling it is cause it so different, when thing are so out of comment that you arent sure about how you should feel about it... track 16 is a pop track so its easier for people to get behind... album was a good 6/10 from an artist who dropped their first album, its can quickly become a 7/10 when a person gets used to keem cause people havent had a real idea on who he is and you can hear it in his music that he is still finding himself and who he is as an artist, we saw this with J Cole when you take his early tracks and albums when he was chasing hits vs his later albums when he found who he wants to be as an artist... Keem is in that zone but unlike a J Cole who had Jay Z who was a hit chaser for a boss, Keem has Kendrick who want to explore everything about the music which is why we have so many beat changes, flow changes and all that, Kendrick is giving the artist freedom to explore his musical ability and direction, i can say for a fact that once keem finds who he is as an artist we will have less beat and flow changes or at least a more flowing rhythm beat them like what we see from Kendrick

I like the album, I just feel like for his next album he should focus on one theme and sound and try hard to “perfect” it. Then hop to a different sound, because then he can be unpredictable while also be able to putout quality. That’s one he should take from Kendrick. Some songs were good, but again he can grow from here.

I feel like this album will definitely grow on people more as time goes on. I personally loved this album and it's a top 5 for me this year even though some tracks could definitely be cut just to condense the album into something more cohesive, for me, there aren't any skips.

the reason people arent feeling it is cause it so different, when thing are so out of comment that you arent sure about how you should feel about it... track 16 is a pop track so its easier for people to get behind... album was a good 6/10 from an artist who dropped their first album, its can quickly become a 7/10 when a person gets used to keem cause people havent had a real idea on who he is and you can hear it in his music that he is still finding himself and who he is as an artist, we saw this with J Cole when you take his early tracks and albums when he was chasing hits vs his later albums when he found who he wants to be as an artist... Keem is in that zone but unlike a J Cole who had Jay Z who was a hit chaser for a boss, Keem has Kendrick who want to explore everything about the music which is why we have so many beat changes, flow changes and all that, Kendrick is giving the artist freedom to explore his musical ability and direction, i can say for a fact that once keem finds who he is as an artist we will have less beat and flow changes or at least a more flowing rhythm beat them like what we see from Kendrick
This album gives me 808s&💔 mixed with Travis; the vocal inspiration of a Don Toliver, Roddy Ricch and Playboi Carti; and 20% of Kendrick's pen.
