Hullo Gem, I will apologize for missing the stream, I have not been sleeping well and when my alarm went off I simply shut it off and went back to sleep. I have resorted to keeping a sponge and paper towel close when opening tubes of paint. I have found that if I keep the threads and caps clean I can open even the cheaper made tubes of paint! Yes, it does “waste” just a bit of paint. If I don’t lose it on clean up sometimes I lose the whole tube! A much bigger waste! I am curious about just which brand is your go to brand of gouache? Now if money is no object, is the brand the same? I am a DaVinci advocate, but it is so much more expensive due to shipping for artists not in North America. I have purchased their white gouache and used it in some watercolor paintings when I was trying to get away from my traditional training and the use of masking fluid. I have not seen many reviews of their gouache and the couple I have seen were not complimentary. It is more money than I thought I would spend on gouache! It has not been a favorite of mine. I would rather spend my money on watercolor paints, I recently purchased a curated palette of opaque watercolor paints! I have only used it once so no opinions yet! Ok back to the stream!
