This is where ADHD me would be taking all of those offcuts and making even more complex art out of them. I feel like sometimes playing with the tiny pieces is just as satisfying as building the big stuff 😁

    Nice work!
You could use magnets instead of glue for even more customisability.

Pretty neat idea, Billy! And it turned out fantastic! Nicely done!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
BTW, I'm about to turn 45 in less than a month, so... Yeah, I feel your pain. 😬

That is very cool looking. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to cut all those triangles though!

    Very neat project!
I wonder what kind of geometric art you could make with the cutoffs, as they look to be all similar 🤔

Really neat, Billy. I'm waiting to see what you make with those cutoffs. 40 is nothing - wait until you hit 74.

My first thought when I saw the design, was to cut it out from a panel, using a track saw.
Since I don't own one, I'm not likely to try that myslef 🙂

Wait, I thought having the center of the tree in a wood, it was less likely to warp? As whatever it swelled or anything would be even in all directions?
I thought the ones with circle all in one direction like the one second from the bottom at 0:41 would cup in that direction?
Have I really been doing the exact backwards way this whole time? 🤔😬

The further out from the pith the better. Quartersawn is the most stable. Rift sawn a close second. Then there's flat sawn which has those rings with the smiley or frowning face. They can cup, like you said. So imagine those next to each other and pushing in opposite directions. Too much movement.
