I've cut the cord and use an antenna + streaming. You have to love the writing in the old comedies. The rules were so strict - no sex, definitely no nudity and special effects were done with wires. (I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched). The writing HAD to be good. There wasn't anything to fall back on.

They ruined Gilmore Girls for me with that extension. I legitimately can't watch it anymore because I just cringe now.
Ugh yes! I loved how pretty much all of the cast came back, but a lot of the writing really missed the mark. What was with the scene that was an homage to 'Across The Universe' which was already an homage to the Beatles? Oh well, I still love Gilmore Girls no matter what
That revival was such a disappoinment. They could have done so much more with it.

@@rite2bcreative the problem was that it was written as if #1. Season 7 of the show never happened and #2. ten years didn't pass. The most generous thing one can say about it was it was written so Amy Sherman-Palladino the creator (who was kicked off the show for the final season) could have the last word. She always said that she was going to end the show with those four words.
My daughter and I watched it from beginning to end. We loved it because we saw a single parent family represented.
Loved the original lovable characters on the show.
The Netflix’s? Oh man I was so let down. Rory and all the main characters were off and horrible, while all the sidekicks for some reason were spot on 100%. Don’t understand how they got it wrong,..

USA is a country with the highest percentage of single parent households in the world, so it was nice that the show showed this version of parenting.

Lauren is a profoundly amazing actress; just when you get used to her playing the chatty, perky Lorelei Gilmore, she’s also the bubbly, quirky, easygoing, loving, semi mother hen like, boy hapless Sarah Braverman on Parenthood....and oooh boy, that scene with Sarah and Amber fighting and Sarah gets shoved down on the floor gets me…every…time …I …see…it 💔 And Sarah’s emotionalism when getting the call about Amber’s car accident-- how has Lauren never gotten an Emmy? 😥
I own every season of Gilmore Girls dvd sets. It is my "go to" when I need some cheering up.

We bought all the seasons a long time ago and they collect dust thanks to Netflix, but we always have them as a backup in case streaming lets us down.
Gilmore Girls was such a meaningful show for my husband and I growing up! When we started trying for our second child my husband said if we have a girl we should name her Lorelei, and now we have 5 month old Lorelei Luna. 🥰 We decided to go with the traditional German spelling of the name, the myth behind it is absolutely amazing! A strong name for a strong girl. 💪🏻💜

My 81 year old dad found GG a few months ago. He and my stepmom were hooked. Lol he was just like the man in the video. Miss this show and we need a final series where Rory reaches the potential she always had (and marries Jess of course 😉)

If you feeling down for some reason, especially in this day and age, just watch Gilmore Girls. The show just makes you feel good. Thankfully there are seven seasons to enjoy.

I watched the show with my now 27 year old niece and then she watched the show with her mom. I have literally watched it through more than a dozen times with the first four seasons probably hundreds - I’ll start it from the beginning and use it to sleep at night because I can’t sleep in silence and it’s the only show that calms me.

I was the "Friends" girl, but CONSTANTLY heard how I needed to watch GG's, I started watching it about 5 years ago and am now OBSESSED....had not heard Netflix picked it up but I will be heading over there as soon as this comment is posted. There is no other series that I am actually grateful for, it comforts me. ❤︎
Me too, loved my Friends and hated when it ended, but I caught GG late afternoons on reruns, I liked it it a lot, and started watching the series weekly when Friends ended. By then Rory was in college. Many years later I watched it on Netflix from the pilot.

I just finished binge-watching it for the first time and absolutely BALLED MY EYES OUT that it ever ended!! I could have written at LEAST 3 more seasons!!! It was just the kind of show that made you feel that we all lived in Stars Hollow together, I LOVED IT SO MUCH! I think I'll have to watch it again!

I watched GG while going through a horrific & long illness. Lorelei was so quirky and funny. The show brightened my darkest days & for that I’m grateful! I can literally watch old episodes over & over again!

I started watching Gilmore Girls with my mom and grandma when it was on the WB and I was only 6-years-old. My mom raised me as a single mother, and she is one of my best friends. We always compare ourselves to Lorelai and Rory. I am so grateful that it's on Netflix, I rewatch it at least once a year. Whenever I am stressed or can't sleep, Gilmore Girls is there to comfort me, and so is my awesome mom. :)

I love her so much. I actually have watched Gilmore Girls a few times from beginning to end, and have decided that the only main character that I really like is Lorelei, so last time I rewatched the show, I only watched scenes with Lorelai and skipped everything else. Saved a lot of time.

I got a Neilson ratings survey around next to last season and I filled it with mostly Gilmore Girls! I hope it gave them a couple more seasons😁. I loved the show and found it comforting.
I can't count how many times I have watched Gilmore Girls from beginning to end. I Love That show!
i first watched Gilmore girls in 2015 and/or 2016, binged the whole thing start to finish. Came to a point that was the only thing i would do besides school😭 It was one of the first shows i REALLY ever loved, now, 2021 i still rewatch it for the millionth time(i legitimately lost count but I know it’s well over 10) even if i watch other shows and movies you can go into my netflix and see it in recents. I know everyword to the theme song and can recite lines as if I were an actor in the show. I can not explain to you how much joy G.G brings to me, the vibe, the humor, the realistic relationships, the small town and even the time period it was filmed in. Over the years of watching it religiously i can even point out holes in the plot or when sets change. One day i was sitting next to my mom watching my all time favorite show, looked over and noticed she was entranced too, needless to say she fell in love and it became a topic in our everyday conversation. I don’t know what i would do if netflix took it off💀. Let’s just say i’m a SUPER fan and an absolute stan to Lorelai :)))

Gilmore Girls was one of the few shows I watched in the 2000s. I had little time for TV but the combination of humor, love, being true to yourself and conflict (yet love) with your parents resonated deeply. People wonder why the show keeps finding new generations but those themes and the special talent of all the cast (especially Graham) made it a classic. I love the cool mom aspect but the dynamic between the generations of Gilmore women was epic!
I just started watching Parenthood this past month and in my opinion, Sarah is Lorelai Gilmore, just a few years older! She is a tremendous talent, she has a unique charisma. She makes everything she appears in BETTER : )

Yeah, her face looked puffy and frozen in the GG movies, like she was unable to make expressions. So sad to see.
Rec. for newbies. Watch Season1-4 then go straight to season 7of GG. And skip the rest. At its peak, it was utterly delightful.

Ah, how lovely to see this gorgeous lady again! And I doubt she'd ever be frightening to children unless she meant to be, I've got a feeling she can do whatever she sets her heart too. And she is very beautiful. I didn't know about Gilmore Girls until several years ago (I'm more of a book reader! I was also very late in watching Friends), and I was hooked the second I watched an episode and even watched it again not that ling ago - it's timeless and that's a real compliment to the show and its actors. Plenty of humour, good acting, beautiful scenery and all-round feel-good stuff. This wil become (already is?) a cult classic, and you should be proud as your gift will keep entertaining people, what a wonderful thing. x
