Just in case you didn't know, there is a thing called the "rubber band trick" for broken hinges on the DS. Simply take a rubberband and fit it in a way so that the rubber gets stuck in the hinge part. You can look this up for a better description of how to do it but it works like a charm
Nice video. Here is a hidden gem you aren't gonna hear about anywhere else: "Puzzle Expedition". It's a shovelware title that is really good. The premise is that you switch between two characters to move blocks to escape each stage, it plays really nice and the puzzles get annoyingly difficult.
I still have my old collection of DS and 3DS games all in a big box under my bed. I probably have like 50+ games but they're mostly DS games since I also went through a gap era and didn't play many 3DS games. But ever since I've started to play Switch last year, I've been thinking I should try getting into my 3DS again sometime too and trying to get more games for it.

Nice video! I subscribed ;) Just a suggestion: I would look into a way to 'decouple' or remove the mic from the table you are leaning on. Now you can quite clearly hear low level bumping sounds when your elbows and arms touch the table or when you put objects on the table. Just set the mic on top of something that absorbs the shocks in order to 'decouple' the mic from the table or simply suspend the mic on a mic stand/boom that is separate from the table.
YES collecting ds handhelds and the other ones (game boy and switch) is soooo much fun :) I always set alerts that notify me when there is a new ds listing and wait for a super cheap one, and now i have a huge collection that i have spent like not that much on.
I hope to one day have a large collection! I have been adding a lot of games to my eBay watchlist. It's just so much fun being able to collect physical media for a console you love, seeing the shelf slowly fill up with games is really rewarding~
7:19 mario party DS is one of the few DS games that you can play with friends with only one cartridge! you should try booting it up and doing ds download w some pals and ur extra consoles (ds download works on 3ds systems as well!)
I didn't really get into gaming till AC New Horizon on the switch (which I first 2 years ago) but I am now slightly obsessed.. I bought a 2DS in feb to be able to go back and try out AC New Leaf, Fantasy Life, Ever Oasis, and recently started Pokemon X to prepare for Pokemon Legends Z-A next year. My first game on the 2DS was fantasy life - I was instantly hooked and will never regret spending money on the system in 2024 solely because of that game. I'm looking forward to experiencing more of the 3DS catalog AND to follow your journey with it!
Gaming is such a fun hobby! There are so many games that I want to play on so many different systems! With the amazing library on the DS and 3DS, I have yet to see anyone regret picking up a 2DS, it's so nice to see so many people excited about this console recently. Honestly if you're up for small repairs, you could fix most of your consoles. Also 100% homebrew your consoles. Specially now, it breathes new life to the systems
I would love to fix the 3DS XL and DSi! And I will most likely get around to homebrewing at least one of my consoles since so many people have said it's really simple even for beginners!
DSi XL screens often go bad starting from the edges, tho most examples I’ve seen occur on the touch screen. A shame since they are IPS and the big pixels make games like Pokémon look great
See I would understand if it was at the edges but it was the middle of the top screen. It went from perfectly fine to most of the screen was black in, so not sure what happened there 😔
Take the back plate off , remove the battery and there should be 4 screws that you can see & 2 screws under the little rubber pads + the small screw at the cartridge slot! (Set aside screws) don’t forget to remove your SD card! Gently lift the back up watch out for the ribbon cables these can be disconnected by gently lifting the connectors on the motherboard! Set aside the console since all you need is the back shell! There’s some screws holding the L & R bumpers remove those and the bumbers should be free (watch out for the little springs they can fly away) clean em up & that should do it! There’s a bunch of videos to walk you through it! For beginner repairs it’s not intimidating! I hope this helps get your bumpers bumpin again 🤘🏽
Go through TH-cam and find a very in depth clean/refurb video. I learned a lot from other hobbyists and refurbishers! Don't worry if you have to fully break down the bottom half, it's not awful to put back together

You need to manipulate your trainer ID and secret ID my resetting your DS clock AND the game on the "perfect tick" He does link a video so you can search "How to do the cute charm glitch in 25 minutes or less" by "im a blisy" He said it can be really quick if your good with the timing, or it can take hours like it did for him, so if you try it our I wish you luck!
I have a few recommendations off the top of my head! If you like monster-taming games, Pokemon SoulSilver/HeartGold is a great pick. I love all the Kirby games; they are fun platformers that aren't super challenging. If you want to go a different route, The Legendary Starfy is a good choice. I loved Donkey Kong: Jungle Climbers for a spin on typical platformers. For racing, Mario Kart DS My friend loves all the Ace Attorney games so if you like games that make you think, grab any of those

i started out my collection with my og blue dsi, blue 3ds xl, majoras mask new 3ds xl and pikachu 2ds xl, now.. i have added 2 japanese white dsi xls, 2 pearl white new 3ds xls both with dual ips screens for my girlfriend and i to use to play, two japanese white new 3ds (faceplate version), animal crossing japanese 3ds xl, japanese pokemon yellow 2ds, japanese white dsi, japanese silver ds lite and a custom translucent shell dsi to my collection. i have a problem...🙂 the physical ds games i have are mostly mario and pokemon games and some that i had a lot of memories with from childhood. i hope you don't go down the same path as me buying too many consoles 🙃 unless you find some good deals
You have so many amazing consoles!!! I am trying my best to stop (at least for now) at the consoles that I already have, but I have to admit I have already been tempted by some nice looking 3DS and 2DS models (like the Animal Crossing and Eevee models most recently). I might dabble more into console collecting after I get more of my games collection gathered~

Don’t feel pressured or offput by others telling you how “expensive” or “hard” it will be, buy what you want, when you can afford it for the price you are comfortable paying for it. If a DS or 3DS game is too expensive on the market, you can always play it with a flash card in the case of DS, or through 3DS Homebrew. I love collecting too, but at the end of the day it’s the most important to have fun with the games, not worry about missing out on buying at a certain price. Disclaimer, I love collecting physical games and have all my life, but if there’s a title I really wanna play and the physical game price isn’t in my price range, I’ll play it and wait until an opportunity for me to get it cheaper comes. I wish you lots of fun playing, the 3DS is my fave console and there’s such a massive library of amazing games between it and the DS!!
@@UravityJenna I have really had to think about how badly I want specific titles when it comes to the DS. There are certain ones that I really wanted (like Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn) that I am fine with paying a bit more for. But, I know my limits, like the 3rd Yo Kai Watch game will probably never be mine due to how high the English release is going for. No matter how many games I add to it, I love my collection (physical games that I can display is always something that I crave because it is a showcase of my hobby) and I'm okay with slowly picking up a few games rather than dropping a bunch of money for EVERY game I'm interested in~

My pokemon games gap is gold (2000) to sword (2020)

These break by itself over time despite you taking great care. Some break sooner than others.

@@MoonPieSanctuary That´s the spirit but the longer you wait, the more expensive some games will get over time. That´s how things work when it comes to collecting video games / consoles

@@MoonPieSanctuaryI enjoyed watching your video and I’m happy to see another person getting into DS and 3DS gaming again!! Don’t feel pressured or offput by others telling you how “expensive” or “hard” it will be, buy what you want, when you can afford it for the price you are comfortable paying for it. If a DS or 3DS game is too expensive on the market, you can always play it with a flash card in the case of DS, or through 3DS Homebrew. I love collecting too, but at the end of the day it’s the most important to have fun with the games, not worry about missing out on buying at a certain price. Disclaimer, I love collecting physical games and have all my life, but if there’s a title I really wanna play and the physical game price isn’t in my price range, I’ll play it and wait until an opportunity for me to get it cheaper comes. I wish you lots of fun playing, the 3DS is my fave console and there’s such a massive library of amazing games between it and the DS!!
@@UravityJenna I have really had to think about how badly I want specific titles when it comes to the DS. There are certain ones that I really wanted (like Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn) that I am fine with paying a bit more for. But, I know my limits, like the 3rd Yo Kai Watch game will probably never be mine due to how high the English release is going for. No matter how many games I add to it, I love my collection (physical games that I can display is always something that I crave because it is a showcase of my hobby) and I'm okay with slowly picking up a few games rather than dropping a bunch of money for EVERY game I'm interested in~
