Ive never played Xenoblade but i dont think ive ever seen a games dialogue (specifically jrpgs) be so aggressively British that as a British person its giving me severe whiplash and an incredible amount of serotonin. Also the wing headed girl is my new favourite character.

Just thinking about the repercussions of such an event like how would the military respond, would most of the technology still work, or even how people would adapt to the conditions of the new world.

Yeah this is the most character focused of all the Xenoblade games, and not just focused near entirely on just the protagonist and his girlfriends(s). I mean the weakest character for this game is problemly Sena, but even then the Sena moments are bigger than the majority of XC1 and 2's non-protag party roster
They felt like friends who've known each other since they were 4, so are completely comfy crap talking each other for giggles. As much as I like the first game, the dynamic was less friendly and more like coworkers for most of the group. A few specific pairs felt like genuine friends, but the party more or less revolved around Shulk. The second did better, thanks to Nia and Zeke throwing their filter in the trash, but it felt more like 5 pairs of 2 traveling together. They really picked through the individual strengths of 1, 2, and X to make something really golden here.
I think people who say that XB2's cast is better despite everyone basically being a stranger to one another and sticking to their cliques (Zeke and Pandoria never do anything with anyone else for example) are utterly insane. XB1's cast felt close, XB2's cast is even better. Though I've got a soft spot for X's cast even though they never interact with one another at all.
Eunie and Lanz had the best moments in the game personally. Eunie is feisty and a complete bitch and loved it lol. She had a vulnerable side to her which showed she had a soft spot for her crew and she is one hell of a wingman to have by your side in a battle. This is how you write characters, there were layers to all of the party members.

Team Ouroboros have about six brain cells between them. Taion has 4 at all times, Noah, Mio, and Eunie share the other two, and Lanz and Sena make do without.
Sometimes Lanz activates an Ouroboros-Braincell, like when Eunie tells him: Eunie: "Excuse Lanz and his threatening display of Idiocity..." Lanz: "I'm not threatening!!!" Eunie: "You missed the Point..." Lanz: "I didn't miss the......Oh...." Pure Comedy Platinum that scene.

They have fur so it's fine, and most Nopon clothing doesn't cover much anyway. And it's also not like this is new, you can strip Riki the moment he joins, Tora has several scenes where doesn't wear anything, and I'm sure there're plenty of nude NPC Nopon (or with just a hat) as well
Because it's a thing ever since Xenoblade Chronicles 1. Nothing special really. And Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Torna the Golden Country has a sidequest that completely revolves around that thematic, and even in universe nobody is giving a single sweat drop about it.
I want to say he's really dedicated to that hat, as seen with the classes having his hat. The other classes don't change hairstyle (as far as I'm aware) so so I think that's a hat, another factor is nopon fur tends to be uniform in color, Riku's hat would have to be more his tone rather than that dark gray. Sorry if the explanation was a bit excessive, that's my two cents and if it's hair, well I think I would be dumbfounded and quit trying to understand nopon.

I just love how the localization of the Xenoblade series has grown onto people. When Xeno2 released the internet was bitching about all these different accents and cried for the Japanese dub. Monolith stubbornly kept it like that and nowadays everyone just embraces it.
did anyone said anything about the first xenoblade? cause if memory serves me, everyone there is pretty much brittish as well. xeno 2 had 2 americans (pyra and mythra have no accents), and xeno 3 is all out uk.
1 is all English accents, 2 uses Northern for Leftherians, Welsh for Gormotti, Australian for Urayans, Scottish for Ardainians, some kind of English for Tornans and Tantalese, and American for Indoline and Blades. 3 just uses those accents based on the nationality and race of each character.

So Nintendo wanted to save money, they just ported the European version over and decided to not redub it for the west. So at this point its just tradition to keep the voices this way.
If I hadn't read the comments, I wouldn't have realized that the wing-head female speaks with an english accent. It just sounds vaguely non-U.S. sort of fancy canadian/australian/euro/etc. Yes english isn't my native language. All of those accents/dialects sound basically the same, is my point.
Muppet as an insult really is a weird word. Depending on the manner of speaking a person uses when saying it, it can sound simultaneously like a very posh and a very common way of insulting people. e.g. "Oh, heavens! You Muppet!" "Shit sake! You fucking Muppet!"
Well, we're (and Eunie here is) definitely not saying 'asshole'. The R is there, it's just softened. A lot of British English dialects when speaking casually tend to slur words into each other and emphasise words by slowing down and enunciating them more. Americans (at least those on TV) tend to emphasise with volume instead, which I think is why you perceive us as more calm and we perceive you as more shouty or emotional.
For those that don't know, Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) was originally only released in Japan and Europe. A fan campaign called Operation Rainfall was launched to get Nintendo to release it in North America, along with some other games back in the day. Since the game was localized only for Europe at the time all of the voice actors were European, and thus the dub gave everyone British accents, along with some related accents. I don't think this was intentional or anything, it was just what naturally happened. Eventually this just became part of the series identity, hence why Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3 both have a distinct British feel not only in the voice acting, but also the dialogue (e.g., "muppet" is British slang for idiot if memory serves). I'm not sure how strong that feel is in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (or if this applies to Xenoblade Chronicles X as well), but it seems like they really embraced it with Xenoblade Chronicles 3. So yeah, this is like a "bug became a feature" moment, except with voice acting instead of game mechanics. Feel free to correct me if I misrepresented any details.
It's a huge part of Xenoblade 2. Each country has their own unique accents based on actual countries across Europe, such as one country having Welsh accents, another having Scottish accents. It's a really cool piece of world building that really sells the feeling of multiple countries.

I just love how the localization of the Xenoblade series has grown onto people.
When Xeno2 released the internet was bitching about all these different accents and cried for the Japanese dub. Monolith stubbornly kept it like that and nowadays everyone just embraces it.
did anyone said anything about the first xenoblade? cause if memory serves me, everyone there is pretty much brittish as well. xeno 2 had 2 americans (pyra and mythra have no accents), and xeno 3 is all out uk.
1 is all English accents, 2 uses Northern for Leftherians, Welsh for Gormotti, Australian for Urayans, Scottish for Ardainians, some kind of English for Tornans and Tantalese, and American for Indoline and Blades. 3 just uses those accents based on the nationality and race of each character.
I only know the name of this game and the name of the girl (Eunie) because of the comments here, I never played any Xenoblade game before and don't even know why the youtube algorithm decided to suggest this video for me, but I'm glad for it, in just 33 seconds Eunie made me love her hahaha

Im on the 3rd chapter and it would be interesting to see Eunie as a romantic partner to Noah, given her personality i feel like she would question Noah of some of the ambigious things that they are doing like, what if the city is not real or how about the people they left behind if she was in Mios shoes which probably make more sense and interesting if you ask me.

I wonder why they chose this type of english for the Xenoblade games? Like, is it also a different type of japanese in the japanese version? Not to say it's a bad thing, I just find it curious because most japanese games have an english cast that goes "oh, I see, well then, it can't be helped, let's do our best tomorrow" in the mosst average-ass accent and not this lol.
Beats me but it helps the series stand out compared to other RPGs, and it kinda grows on you IMO.
It’s because the first game was localized by Nintendo of Europe since initially there was no plans for it to be available in North America. Now I guess it’s mostly a tradition of the series
Because the first game never came to the states, it was only released in Japan and Europe. The fans petitioned the first game to come here for the Wii. So Nintendo wanted to save money, they just ported the European version over and decided to not redub it for the west. So at this point its just tradition to keep the voices this way.

Well, we're (and Eunie here is) definitely not saying 'asshole'. The R is there, it's just softened. A lot of British English dialects when speaking casually tend to slur words into each other and emphasise words by slowing down and enunciating them more. Americans (at least those on TV) tend to emphasise with volume instead, which I think is why you perceive us as more calm and we perceive you as more shouty or emotional.
The subtitles are really accurate to what they say like straight up what they say is written

For those that don't know, Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) was originally only released in Japan and Europe. A fan campaign called Operation Rainfall was launched to get Nintendo to release it in North America, along with some other games back in the day. Since the game was localized only for Europe at the time all of the voice actors were European, and thus the dub gave everyone British accents, along with some related accents. I don't think this was intentional or anything, it was just what naturally happened. Eventually this just became part of the series identity, hence why Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3 both have a distinct British feel not only in the voice acting, but also the dialogue (e.g., "muppet" is British slang for idiot if memory serves). I'm not sure how strong that feel is in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (or if this applies to Xenoblade Chronicles X as well), but it seems like they really embraced it with Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
So yeah, this is like a "bug became a feature" moment, except with voice acting instead of game mechanics. Feel free to correct me if I misrepresented any details.
It's a huge part of Xenoblade 2. Each country has their own unique accents based on actual countries across Europe, such as one country having Welsh accents, another having Scottish accents. It's a really cool piece of world building that really sells the feeling of multiple countries.
