They tore that old Doraville plant down about 10 years ago. It sat abandoned alongside 285 for a few years. Now the property is a bandsmartusa as well as a huge parking lot.
Probably because I’m an 80’s kid, but those body styles with the somewhat luxurious interiors always catch my eye. Had an ‘88 caprice when I was younger. Now we have the ‘89 suburban as our project truck. Have a 454 short block that would look good in the Malibu.

That was a nicely equipped attractive car when it was new: white, maroon top, body side moldings, cloth interior, air, automatic, v8, stereo. About as good as the average car got in 1981. I’d like to think the front Rally wheels were original...probably not. All that’s missing are body color sport mirrors. Nice. Love a good pressure washing video.

Cleaned up pretty good. I don't know what the designers were thinking when they put vinyl tops on cars. The dumbest thing they ever did. I had a 1983 Caprice Classic bought her new, pretty sweet car back in the day. Another great video.
Nice looking car, your right it sure would have been cool if it was a two door. I always liked that model and they looked cool with old school rally wheels.

I had one and the 267 looks like any other small block of them years. As a matter of fact I believe the 267 is still out in the barn from when I pulled it out and put a 327 in it.
You can use 3m panel bonding adhesive for patching those rust spots. No need for a welder. It is extremely strong glue for sticking panels together, and it never rusts. Good stuff. Great video once again!
Fun fact, when the g bodies were raced in Nascar the speed created a vacuum that sucked the back glass out. That's why they came out with the aerocoupe designs.
Yep, it definitely needs to be made into a police cruiser! Great video, as usual! It reminds me of my dad teaching me to drive when I was that age. It was in a '63 Impala .
just looking at all the little details such the plastic molding behind the front bumber and stuff, my first car which was an 81 olds cutlass, if you removed all the chevy emblems and changed the tail lights you could have a hard time disguishing between the two.. another great video yall and if yall wanna sell the malibu hit me up
Great video again. This Malibu is looking a lot better. It will turn out to be a great car. I wish I could find a similar one around here. Keep making and sharing awesome videos. Have a blessed week.
The black spots, I always use "purple power" to clean vinyl and leather and other spots on the metal. I use it on the outside and inside of cars when i clean them. I spray purple power on the car before I pressure wash it. Let it eat some and then blast all the grime off. It works great.
The ol' Malibu cleaned up pretty nice 😀! With a little rust repair and a paint job, some new casings and hoops, that would really be a nice cruiser! You guys are awesome, as usual and fun watching you!

It looked so good from a pressure wash. A good hand scrubbing and it’s looks so good. Southern car. NO RUST. Had to put new Rotors on the car and tires. Got offered $6000 a week later. Nope going to keep this on for my daughter. It runs and drives and looks great.

my parents had a mid 1970 malibu 4 door with an inline 6. I blew the motor in it, it had been acting up and of course it decided to throw a rod through the block when i borrowed it. God bless my mom when she said, she knew something was wrong with it and didn't blame me
The slot is on the bottom of the bumper on those, that slot car jack is correct we had one NEW is 1979/1980 was what I learned to drive in yes I am old LOL.
Sitting here so envious because i have been searching for one of these or the Olds version. I had the Olds version in high school we pulled the diesel out of and put a built 350 in. Awesome clean up and video as usual!
Love the videos man you and your family do a great job! I could just imagine that Malibu would look like a GNX if it was blacked out and a turbo was put in it!
Hell I wouldn't mind having that Malibu-tay. I'd fix that roof, the various dents, replace the tail lights and that front turn signal, replace the brakes all the way around, yank that 305, clean and possibly repaint the engine bay, fix any holes in the floors, build a nice high compression LS for it with a Tremec 6060, and I'd probably slam it on Tarmacs and daily it (that's an old Haggard Garage reference). It'd probably get a nice suspension upgrade all the way around (not slammed, just lowered an inch) with some of those steel wheels that are on the front driver side that look like they're off of an old Camaro RS. It'd be a cool old cruiser.
hard to believe how clean those bumpers came out, look like they just come off the line. what were you using to clean the interior? looked like "tough stuff" i couldnt really tell, seemed to be taking alot of the mold off the back seats though. love cars like these, nothing fancy, just gets you where ya wanna go.
This is my first experience with your channel (This Malibu). I love G bodies but most importantly I love that it's a whole family affair. Rocky is what caused me to sub, tho. He's the true star.
Another great video, Josh. There’s something about the cleanup videos that’s very satisfying. It’s amazing how much damage could be avoided if people just cleaned out the cowl, door jams, and hood and trunk surrounds each time they wash the car, especially if it’s stored outside under trees etc. Also, making sure the drain holes in the bottom of the doors are clear is huge. I just thought of one more question for your livestream, I don’t recall you ever telling us what your wife’s first name is? I know you refer to her as wifey, honey, mama, etc. but I’d like to know her name. Maybe I just missed it? Take care.
Next time you clean/wash a vehicle , try using MR CLEAN sponges. I've used them a truck that had alot of rust on the painted surface. After that just washed and it looked great.
Even knowing those folk were not mechanics, they passed on few dollars rather than to clean it up so it was worthy of a rescue. Good for you and dumb of them. Was our economy not in the tank, body parts would be of little troubles to locate and make it a pride of the fleet. "Old mans garage" is building a 81 Malibu and its looking more like a car anyones proud to own/drive. I myself had one as told to you before. Pop the rear door panels off and hook up the window cranks should you want to. I think since its not a show car, I would do the cat hair fiberglass on that roof as it is easier to get some terrible places looking fine. Take care Josh
In 1981 it was available with either the 267 with two barrel which made 118 HP or 305 with quadrajet which made 150. In 82 the 5.7 Diesel was added as an Option.
Use the spray bottle of, Simply Green. Spray it on , leave over night, respray, and let stand for an extra 30 mins. Then remove with clean shop towels that is Hot. Repeat if dark mole still is remaining. And next time you do the seats and carpet, wait till you power wash your door jams inside. You make your job twice as hard.
The best stuff I've ever used for cleaning vinyl interior stuff, and was suggested by a local auto trim shop, Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner. That stuff works wonders.
I think rocky make the show half time he like to go for a ride and he will eat Everything all the time big fan of the channel keep up the good work and hopefully you’ll put one of these vehicles on the road so you can drive it
Just found this channel. This video is a trip down memory lane for me. First car I ever drove was identical to this. Year, make model colors everything. It's like my brother in law parked it in the woods and forgot about it. Personally I hope you save it. I've daily driven alot worse cars than this lol. Keep up the good work you, Ralphie, wawa and beautiful wife. New subscriber here

my parents had a mid 1970 malibu 4 door with an inline 6. I blew the motor in it, it had been acting up and of course it decided to throw a rod through the block when i borrowed it. God bless my mom when she said, she knew something was wrong with it and didn't blame me
That’s cool
I think it would be interesting to see what the “draggy” numbers are on the ol’ gal and, compare them to some of the other cars like your turbo coupe.
I have been thinking the same thing
The slot is on the bottom of the bumper on those, that slot car jack is correct we had one NEW is 1979/1980 was what I learned to drive in yes I am old LOL.
Ok thank you that’s cool
Wow pretty decent vehicle this time, even got enough change back for some veannes. Great video 👍👍
Thank you
Thank you
Sitting here so envious because i have been searching for one of these or the Olds version. I had the Olds version in high school we pulled the diesel out of and put a built 350 in. Awesome clean up and video as usual!
My dad has a 81 olds diesel it’s light green
That's so cool lol. I might was a dark maroon. The things I wish I hadn't sold. Lol
Love the videos man you and your family do a great job! I could just imagine that Malibu would look like a GNX if it was blacked out and a turbo was put in it!
That would be cool
the old beast cleaned nice ....Rocky and family great as always
Yes it did thank you
Hell I wouldn't mind having that Malibu-tay.
That sounds good to me
You pluged the vacuum that goes to the brake booster love your videos
Thank you
hard to believe how clean those bumpers came out, look like they just come off the line. what were you using to clean the interior? looked like "tough stuff" i couldnt really tell, seemed to be taking alot of the mold off the back seats though. love cars like these, nothing fancy, just gets you where ya wanna go.
Yeah the bumpers surprised me too, it was tough stuff
This is my first experience with your channel (This Malibu). I love G bodies but most importantly I love that it's a whole family affair. Rocky is what caused me to sub, tho. He's the true star.
Awesome thank you
Another great video, Josh.
Take care.
Yes that’s true people should do that more often
Next time you clean/wash a vehicle , try using MR CLEAN sponges. I've used them a truck that had alot of rust on the painted surface. After that just washed and it looked great.
Ok good tip thanks
👍👍👍👍👍👍Good 👏👏❤️
Thanks
Two and a half men naa 2 MEN AND A 🐐&A GR8 BURN-OUT👍⭐👍🌟keepem Rollin 🎥😁
Thank you
I like that car on the inside .
A friend of mine had a 79 Oldsmobile all red inside .
The bumper look like new after cleaning .
Fun to watch this .
Yes it did thanks for watching
Congrats guy's on washing and cleaning-up that 81 Malibu. Give Ralphie two animal cookies for helping clean it. give Rocky some too.
For sure thank you
Even knowing those folk were not mechanics, they passed on few dollars rather than to clean it up so it was worthy of a rescue.
Yes sir thank you
In 1981 it was available with either the 267 with two barrel which made 118 HP or 305 with quadrajet which made 150. In 82 the 5.7 Diesel was added as an Option.
Ok interesting thank you
Use the spray bottle of,
Simply Green. Spray it on , leave over night, respray, and let stand for an extra 30 mins. Then remove with clean shop towels that is Hot. Repeat if dark mole still is remaining. And next time you do the seats and carpet, wait till you power wash your door jams inside.
You make your job twice as hard.
Ok thanks
YOUR WELCOME AND HOPEFULLY SOME YOUR FAMILY HAVE GREAT WONDERFUL SPRING SEASON AND MORE IDEAS TO WORK FOR YOURSELF .
Yes thanks for watching
I miss my Malibu 4door with a 229 v6 and a sound system it was a fun old car
I bet it was
The best stuff I've ever used for cleaning vinyl interior stuff, and was suggested by a local auto trim shop, Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner. That stuff works wonders.
Ok thank you
Dutch Miller Chevrolet is still in operation in Huntington, WV Not far from my house!
That’s awesome
it's really not in bad shape and could still make a decent DD
Yes it could
I think rocky make the show half time he like to go for a ride and he will eat Everything all the time big fan of the channel keep up the good work and hopefully you’ll put one of these vehicles on the road so you can drive it
Thank you
That body was used for Buicks, Oldsmobiles, and Pontiacs. Great to see one saved!
That’s true thank you
@@Sleeperdude Might find that missing body panel on one of them.
Thanks!!

She's coming along nicely!!
Thank you
Enjoyed this a lot. I drive a 69 chevelle Malibu 4 door. Regards from north Germany
Thank you
Just found this channel. New subscriber here
That’s cool, thank you I appreciate it
@@Sleeperdude I have a spare Dutchman panel for my 80 regal. The panel that's missing between the rear window and the trunk lid. Sadly it doesn't fit the Malibu you have, otherwise I'd donate it to you
Ralphie for president 2024 he’s got my vote!
That’s funny
Yo dude, great turnaround👌 Wheel acid gets rid of rust stains and other hard to shift stains great on bodywork👍
Ok thank you
