@@ActionFigureAtoriummaybe but that’s not something the retailers decided. That was a sale by the Four Horsemen. You’re just speculating and know nothing about this line. It’s pretty obvious from some of your ignorant statements in your video.
@@rabidhamster8884 I don't disagree with your comments. To be clear, I was using prices of New In Box figures being sold on eBay by sellers who aren't guided by the 4Horsemen but by what the market will pay. Keep on keepin on. You are always welcome here.
I've been suspicious for awhile that Cosmic Legion isn't doing well, hence the recent 20% off sale and literally no sell outs, but I thought I was the only one who thought this. Thank you for making me not feel so alone with my thoughts.
The heavy reuse probably accentuates the tropes problem. I do really like many of their alien designs though. Unfortunately any criticism will fall on deaf ears, the Horsemen have created a community that literally discourages any negativity around the line so they can hang out in an echo chamber.
The worst behavior I have observed is by their product photographer who actually attacks negative commentators. Attacking the customer is a big no-no if you work for the brand.
I am a fan (and buyer) of the Cosmic Legions line, specifically because they ARE space fantasy. What is missing in he market is a pure "space exporation" line, there is none, along the lines of my old favourite, Mattel's "Major Matt Mason" from the late 60's and early 70's (which were 5 inch but with cool space vehicles). I like Cosmic Legions because they can either be space 'war' or space 'exploration' based ... plus I love a good space suit =o)
I think third party sellers saw the success of mythic legions and over invested in the Cosmic waves. I believe the fan base is growing but the over investment in stock have saturated the market. I also think the horsemen are content with their inward marketing to their community. The weekly communications and lore explaining and readings really do help capture peoples imagination. One more thing. You showed ebay one dud of a figure that community did not get behind at all. The other cheaper figures were cheaper builder figures with fewer paint apps so they were initally £26 anyways
They needed something else to expand business and put creativity into. A space line seems like the next logical step. Ultimately competing with Star Wars at this point.
The reason Cosmic is selling for less at the moment is because there is currently a 20% off sale
and the reason for the 20% off sale is ......overstock not selling.

I'm just one man hanging out with his toys. I need commentators such as yourself to help guide the discussion.

I'm starting to get into collecting astronaut figures. There is something cool about the space suit look.
