My dad had this exact Riviera G.S. the 455CID 4bbl supposedly had 270 sae-net horses, which was very decent for the era. No catalytic converter, true dual exhaust, limited slip 3.00:1. No lies,it was a great long distance traveler, but THIRSTY. RELIABLE aswell. Load level rear. A bit tight inside compared to Electra. Back then GM was pushing for SUNROOF (STEEL), on the rumors Convertibles were on they way out. The didn't leak til you aggressively braked . '70s technology . True luxos.
I think the wheels are the wrong series for this car. In 1971 they went to the flatter wheel center cap, and the opening diameter that the center clipped into was a bit smaller. The longer cone style caps shown here didn't interchange with the later wheels. I've owned Rivs from 1966 to 1981, including a 1971 and those are my recollections. All that said, this is still a beautiful example. Enjoyed the vid.
Very nice car. Hard to maintain the good looks and performance of the earlier ones with the mandatory emission Controls that had been imposed along with the ugly bumpers but Buick managed to pull off these Restrictions better than most others.
in my own opinion gm`s best styled car since the corvette,im in love with the buick rivs,it would be my 2nd choice for a classic car to own, i know that not realy a muscle car
It breaks my heart I can, tbuy that car from you right now, after christmas debts have me cash strapped, ever since I saw one being trashed in the movie thunder bolt and light foot(1974) clinteastwood and jeff bridges I,ve liked those cars ever since

This model is almost as beautiful as a Cadillac, or a 1967 CHRYSLER Imperial Crown Coupé, or a 1966 FORD Galaxie !
