On "My Car Story" we're in the Western Suburbs of IL on 7-22-23.
We're looking at a 1971 Buick Riviera GS Gran Sport in Blue Paint. The car comes with the 455 CI V8 Engine and has an automatic transmission.
The car's Owner is Ted Peshia. Ted’s Father Terry bought this car in 1989. Terry has been on my videos before, and sadly he passed away. Today Terry’s Granddaughter takes me for a ride in his survivor car and she shares how the videos of me and her Grandfather makes her happy to remember him by. As we take a ride in the country, I’m glad you’re along for the ride.

Hi, If you like this video, please click on SUPER THANKS ❤ with the $ in the middle which is the SUPER THANKS button under the video. Thank you! Lou
Como siempre excelente video. En Bogotá solo he visto unos pocos pero no de este modelo, en Colombia son muy raros.
I’m glad that you let Terry know things are going well.
One of the many elements I admire about your channel is your incredible sense of community- you clearly read every comment and reply to virtually all of them. Even the ones that don’t like the car in the video for whatever reason.
Incredible dedication Lou.
Not only to do you love the cars, but you also have a huge sense of connection to the owners and their families. This is the only channel where I see this tbh. You go out of your way to get their story and this adds to the richness of the channel.
Thanks Lou.
His sincerity comes through the ether of youtube.
Hi Jeff, I appreciate you admire this Channel :-) It's a pleasure to share with you. Treat to read your comments, and connect with you. You're welcome, Lou
I was going to express similar sentiments. Lou's dedication to replying to almost all comments says something about the man. He is a class act.
One of the most beautifully shaped vehicles of any era. Thanks Joey and Lou for showcasing this one!
Hi Zach Diecast Mansur, Happy to read you enjoy the shape of this car :-) You're welcome, Lou
Unforgettable model....
Thanks for viewing and sharing.
Ok Lou, this one brought tears to my eyes. I admire her dedication to keeping grandpa's memory alive.
All I'm going to say about that Boat Tail beauty is awesome.
Thanks for a world class video and keep them coming 💚👍👍
Hi Pat, High praise :-) Lou
GS badging, a 455, and a boat tail. This Riv has it all and a matching license plate, too! What a great Buick and a great family to keep and enjoy it for many more miles. Thanks, Lou!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, This Buick has all the right boxes checked :-) My pleasure sharing with you. You're welcome, Lou
Cars are a connection to the human spirit and memories...Thanks Lou and the Peshia family. BTW, I adore Riv's
Hi CJ Design, "Cars are a connection to the human spirit and memories" I agree. Well the "design" on the Riviera's are quite nice no matter the year. You're welcome, Lou
boat tails are so nice
Happy to read you think this car is nice :-)
All Buick Rivieras 1963-1973 were primarily designed by Bill Mitchell, designer of the 1963-67 Corvette Sting Ray. The 1971-73 Rivieras are really beautiful and remarkable cars due to the wedge-shaped front ends and the awesome rear end boat-tail design, reminiscent of the 1936 Auburn Boat Tail Speedster, and Bill Mitchell's legendary 1963 Corvette split-rear-window Sting Ray sport coupe. Love this one, Lou! Thanks for sharing! The classic Buick Rivieras are 1963-73 only.
Hi Dejael, Happy to read "Love this one" :-) You're welcome, Lou
WOW, beautiful from every angle. With your vids and the excellent camera work, we can study cars that we like more than ever. I really took my time looking at the front end. What a beautiful automobile! I know some people like a car that is all original...I would like to see this car restored. The motor sounds fantastic. The exhuast sounded GREAT! I'm glad they kept it in the family. Great vid! As always, thumbs up. C'mon everybody - give this a thumbs up!
Hi Brian, High praise :-) Appreciate the kind words. Thank you for the "thumbs up! Lou
Very nice Riviera - I think that they were greatly under appreciated at the time. Too radical for the era I guess.
Now, it looks like a larger C2 Corvette and has an iconic presence.
Beautiful survivor. Thanks Lou and Joey!
Hi Jeff, The boat tails came at a time where the 1960's styling of the Riviera was SOOO GOOD, that I think it was hard for any design to be able to compete. Good news is cars get better looking with age, and I think the boat tail will continue to get attention on its own as people see this car as is, without the thoughts of the 1960's Rivira. You're welcome, and I'll let Joey know you enjoy this editing :-) Lou P.S. Here is a little sneak peek. Joey might do a feature on the Channel with his Buddy's car. Stay tuned. Hmmm, does that mean he'll want me to edit?
One of the most beautiful cars ever
High praise :-)
A lovely car and a lovely young lady.
Nice to see a car that is not a show queen but still just a member of the family.

I love it when I see younger people who are enthusiastic about the classic cars. Especially the one's we grew up with. It's also great seeing the pretty young women in the videos! Tell pop and grandpa to stay home. lol
Hi Automated Electronics, "I love it when I see younger people who are enthusiastic about the classic cars" Me too :-) Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou
My best buddy in High Schools Dad had a 71 Riv GS. He owned a British Leland car dealership (1955-1981) but always drove special ordered Buicks and Pontiacs. He let us borrow it on the weekends sometimes so we could double date with our girlfriends. He was a super cool Dad! Much fun was had in the Riv. It would smoke the tires at will. It had the bucket seat/floor shift option. If you really hammered it hard and manually shifted it would break the tires loose going into second gear. Miss my Friend (R.I.P.), miss his Dad (R.I.P. "Stubby") and the ultra smooth, fast, comfy Riv.
Hi John, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Best Buddy in High Schools Dads car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
This is a car that one of my uncles use to love and buy these Buick Riviera's and they had this special kind of back glass in it that you've never seen before and it's quite a classy ride❤❤ I love them myself since my uncle has gone on to his final resting place with the Lord 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Victor, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Uncles car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Love the Color! Blue is my favorite color, and that shade of blue is the prettiest color I've seen on a Boat tail Riv.
Happy to read "Love the Color!" :-)
Love it! 👍👍🤙✌️
:-)
Car is amazing.
yes, i teared up at the end.
Great offering.
Hi Glen, Happy to read this one touched you, Lou
Hi Lou. I had written you on the comments on another Riviera you showcased about my dad's boss having owned several throughout the 1960s. He had bought a 71' boattail just like this one. He was a man with money and with taste. Imagine my dad having a 1968 Valiant and his boss coming to our house in that impressive yatch of a car. It simply always stood out.
Hi cellpat2, I get the feeling right now I'm more like your Dad :-) However....."He was a man with money and with taste"....hoping one day soon! Lou
Such an awesome car , great story and family . Thank you Lou and her too

This surviving 1971 Buick Riviera GS looked fantastic, with that metallic blue color! I was struck by that rear part, boat style, similar to that of the 1965 Corvette Stingray. A very nice interior, with blue upholstery, similar to the exterior, with chrome and wood trim (special mention for the curious instrument panel in the form of two arches that rise in the middle). Of course, it already has its wear details, but it's nice to see that everything is original. Nice day, to ride in this family heirloom through those relaxing rural roads... Also, an emotional final dedication, to his deceased grandfather. Hugs, Lou, and blessings from afar!
Hi Jaime, Happy to read you think this car looks "fantastic" :-) Glad to share this ride with you. Hugs, and blessing to you too, Lou
Bought a 71 GS STAGE I 10-31-84 in ft worth TX @ a Toyota dealership....2k. All it was worth!!! Divorce in '98 sold it for 4k WHAT A F'N IDIOT
My father was a faithful buick man, I'm 62 years of age. I can remember some of the cars he had and they were buicks. He had a 1959 Electra 225 convertible he had that car for years that car got in a car accident and I can remember 1966 Wildcat convertible

nice ride nice time in life, rest in peace original owner
Hi Frank, Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou
1970 was close to the peak for the 455 Buick torque mountain. Found myself needing an engine quickly for a dirt track car, got it from a 1970 Electra 225. The race began and by turn 3 things got really quiet. I twisted my head around to see everyone else just coming through turn 2, and the Buick wasn't revving high at all, not making a lot of noise but pulling like a freight train.
Hi Mark, Thanks for sharing your 455 Buick engine experience, Lou
This car looks like what my old blue Corvette and my blue '65 Wildcat had a Baby!
Hi David, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your cars :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I liked the Buick better. I really miss it.@@loucostabile
Thanks, Lou! My Car Story always features the personal viewpoints of the cars' owner - but this one is really special. Great episode, man!
You're welcome Rick. Happy to read "this one is really special" :-)
Nice!
:-)
Always enjoyed seeing a boat tail Riv back in the day and this example, a GS no doubt with a beautiful shade of blue paint, looks like a great summertime ride. Nice video too, thanks for sharing folks!
Hi Bruce H., Glad to share this "boat tail" with you :-) Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
Hello again Lou! This time, you decided to feature one of my favorite '70s cars - the Buick Riviera Boat-Tail. When I first saw one in the fall of 1970 (I was all of six years old then), I was truly amazed that Buick actually put this car into production. That is a beauty - a far cry from the '70 Riviera (you featured a '70 Riv just recently). At the front, I can see a slight resemblance to the full-size '65 Chevys (yet another car you featured recently; yes, I keep up with your channel almost daily!), and at the rear, the '63-'67 second-generation Corvettes. Bill Mitchell was definitely at work in those days!
Thanks again once more, Lou, for another incredible car story! _(8/21/2023)_
Hello Know Bodies Full, Happy to read this is a favorite of yours :-) Glad to read "yes, I keep up with your Channel almost daily" NICE! Make sure to watch the commercials (or at last the ones you can) as that's how I get paid so I can keep sharing with you. You're welcome, Lou
The best classic in this podcast is the Wonderful daughter/grand daughter who so lovingly honored her family. I have 3 daughters and would give the world for 1 like her.
NICE !
Love that model Riveriera!
Nice !
The side design is a classic 👍👍
Happy to read you enjoy the side design :-)
"That boat sounds like a boat", lol. Sure does, and man does Joey know how to rev that engine properly. Sounded great
:-)
Can never go wrong with a Skyblue car with a white top. Perfect luxury car colour combination. More impressive in person.
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
Thank you for your review on this unique automobile. I remember when these cars first came out either people loved them or hated them. I personally liked the styling because it was so different than anything else on the road. I'll bet even the car's worst critics wish they had one now.
HI GMP NY, You're right. Cars have an amazing way of looking better with age. So I think today, most people enjoy the looks of this car. You're welcome, Lou
Great car and story. Thx for sharing Lou
You're welcome Keith
Hey Lou! Whoosh>>>>>WHOOOSH>>>>>here they come, man, and I see your super sharp Batman-like relexes come into play as you extend an arm out the window and catch both of my projectile-like floppy sneakers-IN ONE HAND!! Me? I'm in my tubesocked 100% Robin-like chick crazy stocking feet, man. Teetering on the side of the road in my Ozzy Osbourne tee shirt and sweat pants pulled up to my knees to (of course always) show my tubesocks lol 🤣😜.Completely blown away by the beauty and majesty of this old Buick Riv. WOW!, that is a real, very well taken care of survivor, and in a gorgeous color. Stunning, man. And I am really touched and moved by what you and Joey shared, and how you included the photo of her Grandfather🥲. Ya got me with this one, Lou, and solidifies the fact that you are indeed my big hearted big brother from another mother. Thanks big bro Lou, JV Johnny ⚾
Hey JV Johnny, THE DOUBLE CATCH ONE HANDER! NICE! Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Glad to read you're touched by this video. You're welcome, Lou
What a great and inspiring story on a beautiful Buick. Just amazing listening to this young girl talking about the car , her grandfather and what it means to pass it on from one generation to the next one . Im sure her grandfather is smiling and proud of her . As a lifelong Buick enthusiast, i ve owned 48 of them throughout the last 40 years the 71 Rivie is one of my favorites this one bring back a lot of memories as i owned 2 of them, one was the same color but with a white interior. Another great video by Lou whith a great story behind it .
Hi Rosalinda, Happy to read "What a great and inspiring story on a beautiful Buick" :-) 48 OF THEM! WOW! Glad to read this is one of your favorites, Lou
Thank you for your response Lou . And yes 48 Buicks throughout the years . My husband converted me to a Buick Nut like himself LOL. He still owns 6 of them including a 70 G.S.455 4-speed conv. and a 65 Electra 225 all original which is his pride and joy .
What a beautiful car ❤
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
Hey Lou, Love the Grandpa's to Grand daughter 71 Riv story. So nice to see the family heritage story get so much traction. Nice video on the car...your work keeps getting better👍
Hey Larry, Happy to read you enjoy the story of this car :-) Appreciate the kind words, Lou
Love the Boat Tail Riv!!!
NICE !
Thanks for this wonderful video. There are usually a good number of these beautiful machines at the Buick GS Nationals in Bowling Green, KY. Going fast with class, the motto of the GSCA. Swing by one year and bring your camera.
You're welcome spooley :-) Sounds like a great show. If the Car Show Promotor wants to Sponsor me to be there, then who knows, I might be there. Lou
Great story. I also remember the other woman who restored a 71 in red on your channel. I like when women are into cars. Both my late father and I each had a 1971 Riviera. I would like to own a 1970 one day.
Hope you're behind the wheel of the right Buick for you again soon.
I say 'hoot anna holler' all the time ;-) beautiful car!!
NICE!
Thanks!
Hi Tim C, SUPER THANK YOU FOR THE SUPER THANKS! Your support is appreciated, Lou

Another great video, Lou. I enjoy your focus on the personal story surrounding the cars. Keep them coming.
Hi Wicked Pony, Thank you for sharing what you like. Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
We love those old Buick's, Lou! I was born in 70, and I had the good fortune to grow up with these cars as everyday drivers. I loved riding around with Grandma because she had electric windows and she would let me play with the switch.
Hi Brett, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Grandma letting you play with the buttons in her car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Lovely survivor. Like that her dad keeps not only this awesome automobile alive but the fond memories of grandpa too. Well presented, Lou as usual
Hi Joe, Happy to read you enjoy this episode :-) Thanks for viewing, sharing, and glad you're along for the ride, Lou
A stunning car!
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
Passed on from generation to generation. Beautiful example of a 1971 Buick Riviera GS. 😊
"Passed on from generation to generation" this is a nice way to do it :-) Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
grandpa had good taste!
I agree :-) Here is one of his cars. th-cam.com/video/-uxD-CxNVYs/w-d-xo.html
Great car and great story.👍
Happy to read you enjoy this car and story :-)
Very nice 🥰
:-)
Wow, Lou! What a resource you have for people to reconnect with loved ones who owned the vehicle and the family gets to have a virtual memory of their deceased love one. And then there is a boat tail Riv for us to experience! Great video and nice seeing a survivor that is being enjoyed by another generation. Kudos to you and to your channel!
Hi ultraviolet tp, Happy to read your comment :-) One of the goals of the Channel is to leave a legacy of these great cars and stories. The other goal is have FUN! Lou
A well lived in survivor.
I agree.
Great Buick Lou
Thank you acts2211 :-)
Sounds a bit like grandpa put a larger cam in that engine❤😊
Hmmm, I'm not sure.
Nice original survivor nice, to see the next generation appreciate these cars . Don't see the Blue and white vlyn roof anymore often people restore and go with black .Brother had a 70 Monte with same colours.
Hi Tim C, "nice, to see the next generation appreciate these cars" I agree. Glad to read this car brings back memories of your Brothers colour on his car. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Beautiful car 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
who else noticed the gas filler is hidden in the trunk ?. love this model. #RivieraGS
Thank for sharing what you notice.
What a great story! I know that you respond to comments because you always respond to mine. I'm glad you also responded to hers. I always liked the boat tail Rivieras, I guess it was a bit too extreme for some people. Thanks for sharing, Lou!
Hi Brian, Happy to read you enjoy the story and the boat tail Riviera's too :-) Cars have an amazing way of looking better with age, so the boat tails came out after some amazing looking 1960's styled Rivieras and I think people who liked those, had to wonder why the car changed so much. I think as time goes by, the boat tail Riviera's will continue to get more and more popular. Lou
Цікаве авто! Заднє вікно класне! Дякую!

Great episode lou ! Lou do you have children to take over one day 😉👍 Nice car with a great family history... she's a doll too ... thanks for sharing
Hi rixkafer56, Happy to read "Great episode" :-) Interesting you ask if I have children to take over one day.....my Son Joey is my Editor and rumor has it he might be showing up on the Channel.....stay tuned. You're welcome, Lou
What a beautiful Buick Riviera GS survivor! A 3rd generation car with a pristine exterior, but the interior needs a little bit of TLC especially on the driver's side seat. the 455 CI engine sounds healthy. I can tell that this Buick is a daily driver by the debris in the trunk and floorboard. I thought that it was cool hearing the story behind this car. This girl couldn't have been happier having you film her grandpa's Boattail Riviera, when you filmed not only her, but her dad and her late grandpa. A touching story behind this car Lou!
Hi Michael, Happy to read "A touching story behind this car Lou!" :-) Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
In some moments in the newer videos, Lou reminds me of Paul Newman. I would definitely like to see Lou in a cool movie, maybe as a laid-back older mobster. 👏💯😁
Hi Hans, Paul Newman......you need to meet my wife and tell her that! Bring in the older Mobster.....ready....take 1. "Hi I'm Lou with another episode of my car story" CUT! Does this Guy have another line! :-) Lou

Beautiful car and family story. That area is a special region of Chicago suburbs! I grew up on the southwest side, competed in sports against Oswego high schools. Spent a few days at Oswego Drag strip! Awesome memories, as is that beautiful Buick Rivy!
HI Paul F, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car and the family story :-) Glad to read this brings back awesome memories, Lou

Nice looking '71 Riviera, my favorite year. i used to own two '71 Rivieras back in the day, i like it better than the '72 because it has the cool looking vents in the trunk lid that the '72 didnt have.
Hi JxT1957, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your two cars :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
