As a heads up, you can buy the belt and tensioner as a kit (or separately) for £30ish off the well known auction site, you can also buy just the tensioner wheel for around £12 as it simply bolts onto the tensioner.
Yes Martin you are :), so many tat yards pre-strip the cars of parts and charge accordingly for off the shelf now, many a fond memory of my dad taking me to the big breakers yards looking for a part for his MK2 Cortina, i used to collect badges whilst bird nesting :) those were the days mate :)
@@andylarner7167 wont let yo do that any more,,, for Health and F**king Safety ,, I used to walk about a bike yard,, and I did scrape my leg,,, and it was awesome :)
My mate has a 2.2 tdci ghia x that I think needs the belt kit. I did it on my 2.0 duratec ghia x and it's now nice and quiet. It cost me about £55 all in which is pretty good. Your saving people a lot of money with your well constructed videos! Keep up the good work.
Great video once again. Keep it up as everyone enjoys these videos am surprised u don't have a tv show as this is more entertaining than anything on TV.
Brilliant. My son recently bought a 2007 Mk3 2.2 st tdci and had a problem with the central locking . went on your site and had it sorted in minutes. Keep up the good videos
Thanks for the very instructive video. I'm about to change the power steering pump, so I guess replacing the tensioner and the belt at the same time would be a good idea.
As always another awesome video Martin, it's great watching your how to videos and you never fail to cheer me up. thanks for sharing that with us and it a thumbs up from me
Can't find the exact one but this is similar www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cardioid-Tie-Clip-Microphone-Compatible-Sennheiser-AKG-Shure-Audio-Technica-/301331392644?var=&hash=item4628c02884:m:mp6Fg3QtXOACK-iKPf-SLwg with the 3.5mm jack 1.2 meters long.
Dear, thanks for this great video. I have the same problem with my mondeo tdci Duratorq 2l. Do you have please a description of the tensioner removal because in the video we can't see this step. In advance thank you for your help! You are the best!
Nice cheap, fix Martin, you must have a decent breakers yard near you as the ones round here are all, rubbish. We used to spend hours in scrap yards ripping bits of cars in my younger days! Nice video.
Great video Martin. That car certainly has had nearly every job imaginable done to it lol what's next ? lol. But good work getting it sorted Martin and getting the tensioner cheap. look forward to more great video's Martin. Cheers, Jeff.
top job martin.. surprising what you can save when you do some research.. another job you've done made to look easy.. look forward to the next :) all the best - Mark
Will make a good used car one day to someone, it's had loads of new parts on it lol. Least you have done all the work yourself as it would of been scrap if you didn't. Another good vid Martin. Look forward to the next one
retrorestore cheers for reply Martin. I'm heading your way next Friday as got a lodge at bainlands near woodhall spa for the weekend. What's jimmys Facebook page?
Hi Martin, bit of a different subject, I have a Mondeo mk3 2.0 petrol and the engine management light is not working, it never comes on when I turn on the ignition. My question is, could it be a fuse? If not is it a single bulb that can be replaced? Thanks Steve
my mondeo have the door open light on on dashboard. when i open the doors its the key all open , but to close, only the drive door closes. the command doesn't work...any idea??! please..
thanks for you answer. I saw some videos but i+m not sure if any is about the same problem it's strange the the two problems at the same time. the issue wit the door and the rear turn light without any power. may be a broken cable?!?!? don't have tools too check this weekend. if i get some useful information about this i will share. Regards
Hi, great videos . I watched all your mondeo videos .Can you help me with a problem .I have the same engine and my mondeo revs at 950 not at 900 like it shoud .Can you please tell me what is the problem ? Now at start it jumps at 1000 and 950 and after few seconds it's stops at 950
This is one of the times when it is worth fitting a used part from a breaker. It is easy enough to check the condition of the part and at that price it was worth a punt.
Yes, it's a joke. As Brian said, they should have said there might be a cheaper option by just buying the jockey wheel but they are not interested in that. Cheers Martin
love the vids Martin that's why I love going to the old scrappies for cheap parts lol 150 bucks way you go. since I have been watching and subscribed to your channel am always looking for broken lawn mowers :-) lol keep up the good work and also the same to jimy :-)
OMG! That is outrageous. I always go to the salvage yard first thing. I'm glad you did the same and that is a bargain. I looked up your engine and same as a Ford Focus 2 L TDCI over here so I found just the pulley replacement as well. www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,2010,focus,2.0l+l4,1444693,belt+drive,idler+pulley,6956
Yes, it's ridiculous Bri. They don't let you know there might be a cheaper option but the breakers yard is 5 minutes away so it was the thing to try first. Cheers Martin

Yes Andy, I found that out afterwards. I'm lucky to have the breakers yard on my doorstep and saved the day. Thanks for the comment.
Cheers
Martin

Martin
Love the breakers yard, they are sadly dying out around here. Sound is good, I can't get mine to sound as good as that Martin.
Yes so do I Bri lol. Bit muddy yesterday though lol. What sound Bri?
The sound on your video sounds good, I can't seem to get the sound right on mine, it sounds crap when I use H1 Zoom
I always use a tie mic and the Zoom H1. I got the mic from Ebay for around £12.00
You got a link for it?
Can't find the exact one but this is similar www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cardioid-Tie-Clip-Microphone-Compatible-Sennheiser-AKG-Shure-Audio-Technica-/301331392644?var=&hash=item4628c02884:m:mp6Fg3QtXOACK-iKPf-SLwg with the 3.5mm jack 1.2 meters long.

Nice one Martin - another good result on the Mondeo. Those main dealers just take the p*ss with charges for parts - thank God for breakers.
Yes, I really didn't want to pay that so it was handy to have the breakers so near.

I went from fixing my car to meditating in my engine bay
Its a TDDI engine, not TDCI.
Yes, I realised what I said after filming but it was too late then
