Installing Kadee Couplers and Coupler Boxes on Atlas Masterline Cars

This is an instructional video on changing to Kadee couplers on the Atlas Masterline Series cars. The freight cars come with a coupler box that will not accommodate Kadee couplers so they must be cut off and new draft gear boxes mounted.

Robert excellent video, drill bit size next number drill is a #51, what size did you use , Rapidio sometimes needs modifications to fit new coupler boxes

So the number 2 size screw is .08" and the drill bit I used was .0625 which a 1/16" bit.

Nice work Like how you did this prodject. Why not use a dremmel to drill the hole and help cut that bolster off?

Hey Rick. Thanks for watching. When you use a Dremel to drill through thin plastic, you run the risk of it melting the plastic and enlarging the hole, so in this case where I needed a precise size, I went with a pin vise.
