    Great content, thanks. Would love to see some eBike trail etiquette included as the eBikes have brought in a lot of newbies to the mt biking sport. Above and beyond regular cycling etiquette I advise eBike riders to be EXTRA courteous to EVERY OTHER trail user out there. The last thing we need in the mt biking community is more conflict that could result in trail restrictions for all 🙂

    You can ride the Shimano e8000 switched on but in "off mode", I ride down hill like this sometimes. With one click of the mode change button it will change to eco and then again to trail or boost with no error message.

    Nice video, it would be nice to see more content with the Yamaha/Giant Sincdrive pro motors, it's a great piece of equipment and it would be nice to see more comparisons with the Bosh and the Shimano, maybe a long day ride with the same size battery to see which one is more power efficient and capable for the big hill climbs.

      How far will you go in Trail riding with ups and downs with your Ebike?

    • @Birne0007
      @Birne0007 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marilakay4902 it depends on more factors: your battery 🔋 from 500 Wh to 700 Wh, your weight, how much you are pedaling, how much support from e-motor are you using. One example, my battery is 504 Wh, my weight 90 kg, plus 22 kg ebike, I use on my Levo only Eco mode with only 20 % support, when I ride cca. 1.000 hm, then my range is between 50 to 70 km. And I don't want to come home 🏡 with absolutely empty battery 🔋, it remains always 10-15%

      ANY lock or chain can be cut, especially if some fool is running around with a battery-powered high-speed grinder, so keep the bike in sight or inside of the vehicle. I insured my e-bike against theft anywhere in the world, I paid a LOT of money for the e-bike, no sense trying to save money by not having insurance. The controller will usually tell you when the e-bike needs servicing. Women e-bikes are often smaller and have curved top tubes. (All of this is just what I have learned from having an e-bike, I am certain that different opinions will vary. Have fun!)

    With my Levo, i find myself switching the motor off altogether quite often lately. For instance on flat trails or roads or simply periods i just want to enjoy nature and drive slowly anyway. First thing i did when i got the bike was lowering the Eco Mode settings to 15 % assist with 30% peak using the app. Default Eco was just pushing a little too much for me. In Eco, i just want the extra weight of the bike to dissappear when im exhausted or a trail gets really demanding. Trail and Boost are for going steep upill or simply ... speeeeed and fun ... which are commenly the same thing :-D

    My question
    Would you add the same amount of psi to your fork on a 20 pound heavier e bike (than your regular bike )as you would if you were heavier by 20 pounds heavier around the girth , in other words does the weight distribution make a difference as to how much additional psi you put in your fork and shock?

    • @scottamolinari
      @scottamolinari 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For an eMTB and depending on the manufacturer and bike type, you'd typically want to go for a sag of about 20-25% of the stroke of the fork or shock. And, to get that sag, it will differ between bikes and riders.

When I can't keep an eye on my e-bike I'll probably remove the front wheel and stuff the whole e-bike in the car. Pain in the a@@ for sure, but e-bikes are a prime target for thieves.

    You go twice as fast at the same effort, assuming your bike has the wattage. Ek = 1/2 mv^2

    My ebike cuts power???
    I recently got a 48 V rear 1000 watt
    Dumb down factory to 750.
    A 58 ah battery.
    All I hook up is the motor wires and the battery. No ebike brake. I use mine no power. It flaps the breeze.
    No peddle assist ither.
    It ran fine a few days then the power cut out. checked fuse. OK
    Replace same fuse. Power came on lights on.????
    1 mile later the same musical fuse.
    Then half mile then quarter the blocks.
    It's getting worse and worse.
