Hell yeah, dude! This is an amazing Babymetal classic. By the way, all harsh vocals are tracked and from studio musicians (with a few exceptions, e.g., the song Distortion ft. Alissa White-Gluz, or Pa Pa Ya ft. F.Hero). However, recently, with the newest 3rd member Momometal, she actually does some harsh vocals. Especially evident from her special version of this song, affectionately known as *Momobanger* at her 21st birthday show, Legend MM, in March 2024. You should definitely react to that one too! This was song 12 of 14. The first 9 songs, including the Gimme Chocolate (live debut) video in your previous reaction, had tracked music with a fake actor band, known as "Baby Bones" in skeleton costumes. Babymetal's actual band, The Kami Band (East) came in for the 5-song encore with live music. Babymetal just got big in Japan by the time of this show (still relatively unknown internationally), so they did not have the budget for a full band yet. The Kami Band (East) became their full backing band starting in 2014 for all live shows. Kami Band (West) was added in 2019 and is now their sole backing band as of Apr 2023. Kami = "God" or "Spirits", therefore, they are the Gods of guitar, bass, and drums summoned by The Fox God to assist Babymetal's endeavors. Hence the white face paint and robes, later face masks and black robes. Legend 1997 is the name of this concert. It is lead Su-metal's 16th birthday show in Dec 2013. She is the "Legend" born in 1997. Next suggestion - *Road of Resistance (Official Live):* The most epic power metal battle anthem, from Jan 2015. Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforced had a hand in the guitar parts and played the guitar sections for the studio version. 🤘🦊
Welcome back.🦊 Yes Su-metal was born 1997, this was her 16th birthday celebration in December 2013. 6 months earlier they had a concert called Legend 1999 celebrating Yuimetal's and Moametal's 14th birthdays. The instrumentalists are the Kami Band. Kami means god or spirit, so in BABYMETAL lore they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums, summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL in the Metal Resistance (ie in all live shows). As such they were wearing traditional white burial robes and corpse face paint. The Kami Band first appeared in October 2012 when they played the 2 encore songs at the Legend I concert. From there on they played a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows in preparation for when BABYMETAL would separate from their parent group (Sakura Gakuin) to become an independent band in their own right. Legend 1997 was the last time they played only the encores - they came on for the last 5 songs, 'Headbanger' was one of those ... so no, this was not the start of the concert, this was about 12 or 13 songs in - and the girls had been keeping up that same energy right from the first seconds of the concert. Although this was Su-metal's 16th birthday 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, but 15 is significant in Japan as compulsory education also ends, so the girl is realising life will never be the same. She is having to grow up, she will no longer be considered just a child and her first 15 years passed so quickly, so she etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget. There are other versions of 'Headbanger' from special occasions as well. The Legend D concert in December 2012 for Su-metal's own 15th birthday and this Legend 1997 concert both started with a (very obviously and deliberately lip-synced) dance remix version ('Headbanger - Night of 15 Re-Mix'). At concerts on or near their own 15th birthdays in 2014 Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) took over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' half way through when Su handed them the mic and stand - she took their place in the choreo. Only fancam videos exist for those performances. The same thing happened in 2019 at the Legend M concert celebrating Moametal's 20th birthday (20 is (or was) the official age of majority in Japan). Moa once again took over lead vocals after Su handed her the mic and stand - and the lyrics were changed to "...this special night of my 20th...". Most recently in March this year at the Legend MM concerts celebrating Momometal's 21st birthday we got her version on the day before her 21st (she was not an official member the year before so she did it to mark the last day when she was still 20).
Great reaction again, and thank you very much for following the recommendation 😉 1997 is indeed the year of Su-Metal´s birth. This concert, "Legend 1997 Apocalypse Su-Metal Seitansai" (full title of the concert) was held at 21st December, 2013, at Makuhari Messe, Chiba. It was one day after her 16th birthday, so it was her sweet 16 party 😄You should definetly watch the end of this sweet 16 party some day, most awesome way to celebrate a 16th birthday 😉About 9k people attended the concert. The "screams" were always backtrack until April 2023. At that time BABYMETAL got a "screamer" (to be more precise: a growler, some call it "fry vocals"), finally 😉 But Su-Metal did a quite fine scream here, including some slight gravel on her voice. She never did it with gravel again, clean scream only. If you like to watch a MV, try "Megitsune". Otherwise my recommendation would be - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL), 2015 OR - Road of Resistance (PIA Arena 2023 live) The first one is the most iconic performance of that song. Epic are both of them 😉
@@CasualReactions You´re welcome! Dangit... a typo that happens to me all the time, I meant "8k". I thought that at the beginning of my BABYMETAL journey, too. Official numbers said "8k" though. As soon as you watch "Road Of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL)" you will know how 22k people visiting a BABYMETAL concert look like 😉There is a long shot of the arena, excluding only a fraction of one side. They were up in the nosebleeds there. There were about 14k people at the PIA Arena MM Yokohama in 2023. BABYMETAL did some HUGE concerts very early in their career already. You should watch (and react to!) a performance at one of the "Tokyo Dome 2016" concerts. "The One", maybe? 😉
If you are liking the japanese metal.. go for some Nemophila. Live or Studio. Original or Cover. All awesome. Suggest Oiran or Raitei. Like a grown up babymetal that with some harsh/clean vocals

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 This wasn't the concert opener, but it was the first song of a five song encore with the live Kami Band. Even though Su has a beautiful soprano voice, I love that she sings a lot of this one in a lower register. That always sounds great. 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' was one of their early hits, and a BABYMETAL classic. Even though the song is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, Su was only fourteen when this was first recorded. It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was performing on stage, rather than taking the train to see concerts. For something newer, you want to check out 'Monochrome' from PIA Arena.
@@jimnusbaum3589 I do enjoy the EDM version. It is unique even for BABYMETAL, and it fits into the theme of the 1997 concert: "Babymetal - Headbanger Night of 15 mix (Legend 1997)(2013) Eng Subs" 🦊 🖖❤
Oh no, the first song/intro to their live shows is never that "boring"... That's just in the middle of the set xD. Their liveshows are practically unmatched in terms of epicness/theatrics - comparable to that of Rammstein's I would say.
Nice reaction. I now recommend reacting to BABYMETAL - Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL), which is the performance that legitimized BABYMETAL worldwide.

I would recommended at least one more from their earlier years before diving into recent stuff. For that, I would suggest the music video for Megitsune, which is one of the few times that a music video is ever recommended for Babymetal. For a recent song, would go with Monochrome, either live at PIA Arena or Piano ver. The First Take, or better yet, a dual reaction to both versions. They do have a song that came out this year that is a 50/50 collaboration with another band. However, I would wait till you've reacted to a few of the other's bands stuff before reacting to it. With the band in question being Electric Callboy. Which for them I would start off with Hypa Hypa or We Got the Moves.
