    I was introduced to two stage spring with Neapolitans and later Green Jackets. At this point, every future switch of mine will have a two stage or three stage spring. Spring swapping is cheap and easy too so you don't have to limit your choices to the switches that come with these springs.

    I'm not gonna lie, anything that JWK makes sounds amazing and looks amazing.

      Fair enough, this definitely does not break their pattern then! haha

      Interesting, I definitely get being tired of supporting brands with constant issues out there. At least theres a ton of options in the keyboard world

    I don't know how to explain it but, it doesn't sound bad but it's a bit loud and the part I can't explain, blocky or a bit hard.

      hmmm interesting, wonder if its me being too aggressive with testing them out haha

      @Cixos ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TactileTalk nono, actually the more aggressive you press the better it sounds for some reason, but it's just blocky, I don't know how else to explain it.

      @@Cixos ah gotcha, yea describing sounds gets me all the time honestly, especially when trying to be more descriptive outside of "clack"

    baby kangaroos or voyagers?

    • @TactileTalk
      @TactileTalk  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's a tough one because I love them both. They are very similar, I think the kangaroos have touch crisper feel to the tactile bump where the voyagers feel a touch smoother. You won't make a bad choice with either. I use the voyagers in my main keyboard and have been using them for months and before that it was the baby kangaroos. The Voyagers I think sound a little better, but I also have them in the zoom75 which sounds incredible

    I don’t think the double-stage spring does anything, that’s just marketing crap (although there’s an argument to be made for increased stability at the cost of possible increased spring crunch, but in the context of a switch housing I doubt it means much)
    What DOES do something is the increased length of most multistage springs, which provides greater force at the top (closer to bottom-out force) and snappier return. Basically the opposite of progressives? (or what progressives are supposed to be… many people have measured them and found little to no difference versus springs’ shape in the context of already being compressed within a housing

      @TactileTalk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting and fair point for sure, I should pay more attention to force and spring length to see how those vary. It could just be a happy coincidence (or to your point marketing crap :) ) that the double stage spring is something that has worked out well for me

    • @jammies701
      @jammies701 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TactileTalk sure, you’re not wrong. I have triple-stage springs in some switches that I really like compared to the stock springs, but I attribute the snappier return and better feel to the increased length rather than staging
      Oil Kings are an example of how longer springs can achieve the same feeling without being marketed as “multistage”

      @@jammies701 for sure makes sense, I'll have to check out Oil Kings. Appreciate the info, love learning from everyone through this!
