I remember buying this for £19.99 at a video game store called "4 play", clever naming. A great port but the Amiga version is the definitive in my opinion.
This game scared the absolute shit out of my brother and I, when we were kids.I'm not sure that I even made it past the opening scene. For some reason we rented it multiple times and had the shit scared out of us just as much every time...
Yep, although the beast was somewhat iconic as a 11 year old in 1992 it scared the living days out of me to the extent I was reluctant to play the game, knowing full well the beast would be waiting 😆😆
Really tricky game to play, requiring split-second timing. Also... that ending is really weird and is kind of a cliffhanger. I need to get the MegaCD sequel to find out what happens.
The sequel is not worth playing. The story is not that interesting, the gameplay is very frustrating, and the ending is just crap. Eric Chahi had no involvement with it, and disowns any connection to it. I liked Chahi's concept art better where it shows Lester eventually becoming a ruler of sorts in the alien world.

Sega is superior to all other ports. While it doesnt have the best graphic, it has best sound design and music. Just compare cinematic music of sega and remaster. First has a soul put into it, it gives you goosebumps. Remaster is just another uninspired synthesizer .
You are joking, right? This port doesn't even compare to the Snes in all aspects, ESPECIALLY the music. Have a look at that version and behold the best console version of the game.
