First trip on the new Hobie PA12 360! Lake Kissimmee bass fishing

- I’m so happy that I decided to get the new Hobie PA12 360! Everything about it is amazing. I don’t get into much detail about the kayak in this video. I just wanted to take it out and get the feel of everything. A review video is coming soon though! It was a nice day but didn’t catch a lot of fish. Mostly because I was playing around with the kayak all day lol. Now that I got everything situated, its game on!

Congrats on the new boat, nothing comes close to what that 360 can do!
I just upgraded from a 2016 Outback and I swear the PA12 360 is so much more efficient. I avg about 0.6 mph faster, although I can't get the PA up to the same max speed as the Outback.

How bout a vid comparing the pros and cons of your Bonafide against your new Hobie. I have the Native FX13, I've considered the Bonafide as a backup, I love the Hobies too, but $$$$, one of my first considerations is ease in standing from a seated position.
Will do a comparison shortly! Its very easy to get to the standing and sitting potion in the Hobie and the Bonafide. I feel like the Hobie has more cockpit room which I like.

Do you feel safe in the kayak ? I was going to try fishing in a small 12 foot jon boat....I know that I cannot go far from the boat ramp but I am just curious how it is in a small vessel because it is such a big lake and I know big bass boats and airboats tear through there
Yeah I feel completely safe. I’ve been going there for a while now so I know the patterns the boat traffic goes. Make sure you don’t go on super windy days though. It gets really rough out there. Other than that the boats out there will see you and stay away. Airboats usually have their own trails near the shore so they hardly ever come close to you.
You still have this yak? If so how is it holding up?
I don’t have it anymore. Didn’t have it long cause I wanted to go bigger to a PA14.

It’s holding up great for me. However I do know people with cracking issues right by the front seat legs. The new PA’s have plates to distribute the weight better. I’m a light guy (140lbs) so I feel like I can get away from having those issues.
Other than that, stability is great. Front hatch storage is big enough to have a yeti flip 8 and rain gear/ cold weather gear. Little quicker than the PA12 because it tracks better. I just feel comfortable in it overall.

Just around the corner from the Joe Overstreet boat ramp. I know its big for a kayak but I just love that lake so much.
I like to see when the 360 comes in to actually youse, i havent seen it yet.
The best thing for the 360 is in tight areas where you don't have a lot of room to move. I found that I used it a lot around pads, docks and hydrilla lines.
Is the water up or down on the Kissimmee?

Hello Chris that's a nice Hobie that you got. I have a question? Do you know if those straps come off the foot brace.I have very very wide feet 4 EEEE WITH FAT WIDE TOE. I know my feet would not fit through the straps. I have a pair of flip flops and I can barely fit my feet through the flip flops straps. I have to sit down and put the straps wide enough for me to slide my feet in. That's how wide my feet are. It really sucks having wide feet like this. Take it easy and have a nice day.

Chris Mitchell Fishing Oh okay that's cool that they can come off. I'm looking to buy a pedal drive kayak. And I just know as wide my feet are they would not fit those the straps. Chris Mitchell Fishing okay Old Town PDL kayaks I haven't checked them out yet. But I will here shortly. I was at a park today a guy had one of the new Hobie Kayaks and I went to go take a look at it. He noticed how wide my feet were and and could not believe it. He wanted to see if my feet will fit through the straps. NO NO NO NO would not fit. The man was shocked didn't believe it. Then the man asked me where I get my shoes. I had to tell him they don't make shoes wide enough for me and I have to go either barefooted 👣 or wear flip-flops year round even to work. That was so nice of the guy to let me try the kayak out to see. So I will try Old Town PDL kayak next. Since they don't have the straps that will work for me and the pedals being wide like the bicycles that will help. Thank you for that information I didn't know that. I appreciate that brother thank you.
