    Is there any wonder why everybody loves this girl? She's a big Serena fan. On the court she's a tennis player. At the net, she hugged Serena and reverted back to a fan. Sorry to see her idol lose. Overwhelmed with emotions, she tears up and cries. Wow!

    What a lovely human being. If only there weren't more of her. Reminds me of Yvonne goolagong. Lovely person but a huge will to win. It can be done. You don't have to become nasty to be a champ.

    Osaka is a gift of god, particularly for the youth that seems sometimes lost. She is a gift for all who have negativ thoughts on the present and on the future. She gives anyone the joy of life.

    Listen I know I am the Ultimate Serena fan...i even reprimanded Ebony Magazine for not mentioning Serena in a 2014 piece they did on power athletes, (they had omitted her from the list!), however, if Serena's doesn't realize, acknowledge, and understand the GENUINE LOVE this Young Lady has for her!!!! I have Sooo Much adoration and respect for Naomi! She put herself aside...wow I'm speechless...but those of you who understand and feel what I'm saying...I know you get it. I have more tennis to watch now! Thank You Ms. Osaka!! You deserve it!

    She is the exact opposite type of personality to that of Serena's. Her archetype is one that we should try to emulate. Internal fortitude, with modesty... yet able to play hard and fearlessly. And did I mention cute as button?

    In this young lady there’s a lot of innocence and youthfulness. She hasn’t experienced the harshness of her Blackness by the judges, linesmen, or society. Hopefully things are improving to the point whereas a player will be judged by their talents, character, and attitude. Believe it or not, when positivity, affirmation, and your countrymen are behind a player they can achieve the unachievable.

    • @MrJm323
      @MrJm323 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      "She hasn't experienced the harshness of her blackness by the judges, linesmen, or society."
      She's lived in the United States since she was three. How much you wanna bet she's gotten more flak from blacks who probably think she doesn't behave "black enough" than grief from whites about her blackness. She hasn't "experienced the harshness of her blackness by [tennis officials, cops,] or society" because white society usually bends over backwards to accommodate blacks in this country. ....I don't know, maybe if she goes to Atlanta and goes shopping, that some white or Asian merchants (or store detectives) will follow her around, scrutinizing her more because of all the experience they've had with black female shoplifters -- maybe something like that.
      It's stunning that you even mention "linesmen" considering that Serena Williams once threatened a diminutive Chinese lineswoman with bodily harm at a Grand Slam event. ....The "harshness of blackness" indeed!

    I understand people like her and other Asian girls, which is termed as having yellow fever, because they are servile. However, being servile should not be an exception. It should be the norm. Being servile, humble, modest, honest and not being brash and unruly.

      @Clay It is permitted if you are a "hafu" like Naomi. In fact any Japanese embassy outside Japan will be more than happy to make you a japanese passport regardless of your other citizenship as long as one of your parent is japanese. Even if you're over 20.

    I understood the question about her name, we in the west expect names to come down from the males but in much of the world it doesn't work like that; however, it is curious that her father is only mentioned lightly and rarely as an influence. My guess is her parents are divorced and he is the ubiquitous absent parent.
