I have a guinea pig who rolls onto his side (very rarely his back but it has happened a couple times) whenever I pet him after refilling his hay or giving him veggies. 😂 The first time he did it I got scared because I'd never seen a pig do that before. His little legs will kick and everything when he does it. I thought he was having a seizure or something the first couple times but he does it Every Time I give him food and then pet him gently down his back. (I always stop well before the "booty line" so he doesn't think I'm going to mess with his bum and get scared/mad about it) This is the same piggie who got so excited he popcorned backward out of a temporary bin he was in while I was cleaning out his cage and broke both top teeth off completely. 🤦🏻♀️ Nugget now gets hand fed his veggies in strips that are easier for him to manage, though he can eat his hay perfectly fine for some reason. 🤷🏻♀️
@@FlashandMcQueenguineapigs That's not normal, guinea pigs don't naturally roll onto their backs like that as it's painful, and they can damage and snap their spines. Sides yes, but if he's rolling all the way onto his back like that (not by accident) and you haven't trained him to, then supervision is needed and potentially advice on a guinea pig care group if he keeps doing it! xxx Just be very careful. You're obviously a good owner because I can see how happy he is here, and that's lovely to see. But yeah, I've seen guinea pigs end up on their backs before and turns out they've had nerve or spinal issues, and the previous owner had tried dumping them in a field or something so they wouldn't have to pay for the vets bills. Also don't let them chew the rug with thin fibres like that. We had one who was a menace for doing things like that, back in the day when we were new pig owners. He had to have an operation to remove it all from his intestines as he couldn't pass it, and it was matting up there. We thought we'd trained him out of it, but he had just been eating it in secret. Thank you for sharing your lovely guinea pigs with us! xxx
Today I've witnessed something unheard of in guniea pigs. A guniea pig voluntary, through his own will, roll over with his back on the floor. Popcorning is one thing but i never thought i'd see this. ❤ Amazing.
lol my Nugget kiicks like a horse too, he even kicks me sometimes when Im holding him. I love your piggies! I think sideways popcorns are amazing. Also chewing on stuff we're not supposed to chew on is equally amazing. Its a guinea pigs goal in life to find an exploit to every object we can. When Im cleaning my piggies cage they find the duct tape hidden under the mats and try to chew on it. Anything to cause trouble
Loved watching your two very happy boys popcorn all over the fluffy rug and under their favorite table. Watched many times, smiling and laughing at their excitement of floor time.
Cracotte va bientôt avoir 3 ans et Cookie vient d'avoir 1 an.
Yes, I was surprised myself that he was spinning like that and I was very scared at such moments. But if he does it himself, then it means he is so comfortable
Such cute boys! 🐹🐹🤗 We love guinea pigs, but after the death of our beloved Juliet, for whose life we fought, sparing no effort and money, we are unlikely to be able to afford to buy more guinea pigs... We loved her very much... 🙏❤
This is really cute because it definitely seems like it's out of happiness but are you sure it's not a medical condition messing with his popcorns? At the end of my boar's life, he was trying so hard to fight that he was popcorn seizing which looked kinda like this. Guinea pig backs are sensitive, not meant to be in that position, so this is just so weird to me. This is the first video I've seen from this channel so I don't have much info and my ptsd from losing my boy makes me worried about this one 😅

I didn't know guinea pigs could roll on their back. They're so cute ❤
Only McQueen does this, and only when he is very happy :))
