in Indonesia.. is very important to communicate with neighbor when you have a plan to build something.. it's to have mutual understanding between each other.. so there's no problems between our and neighbor's properties in the future .. cuz there's a saying
" our neighbor is the closest family that we have"
that is why bali or Indonesia still have solid community
love your country mate such beautiful people
@@courbard enjoy the beauty, respect the diversity
Just some information: non Indonesian citizens are not allowed to own any freehold land in Indonesia. So foreigners who built their villas in Indonesia usually are entitled to use those lands for a period of 10, 20 or 25 years. So any foreigners who wished to own it any longer better think again.
If negotiated, you can extend your leasehold two additional times after the initial acquisition. Indonesian law allows these extensions to be up to 80 years in total (30 years, 25 years, 25 years). So for many, if negotiated, owning the land itself isn’t too big of a deal. If you are looking for something to pass on to your grandchildren, then this isn’t the place to build, otherwise, it can be a great option for ex-pats or investors.
@@ChristopherNips81so you pay again each time you extend lease?
Never investing in sth that is not 100% freehold anyway…
@@galopoulo75 Yes. You are buying the right to use the land for X number of years. If you secure a 30-year lease, you won't have to buy the lease again till the end of that thirty years. In Bali, you can extend the lease twice, maxing at 25 years each, in total for 80 years between three leases (30 years, 25, years, 25 years). For each renewal of the lease, you pay market value.
@@ephilippos What is "sth"?
Wow! This is going to be absolutely amazing when it's done! We love all the details that you are incorporating into the design like the LED lighting in the pool. So cool that you have the 3D renderings so you can have a clear idea of what the finished product will look like. All the best for the rest of the build!
i LOVE seeing this process - keep pushing those boundaries, that 'nothing is impossible' feeling is so inspirational and communicable!
Sooo inspiring. I’m so proud of you for following your gut and intuition and sticking to what you believe should be! When it’s finished , I’m looking forward to Lost Villa being featured on The Local Project, Architectural digest etc.
From acquiring recycled wood to using your neighbor’s carpentry skill set to emphasize your facade. It makes the word, motivation live on! As an upcoming 4th year undergrad arch student in nyc, it’s so fun to find videos like these thank you!
Ive officially watched almost 80% of all of your videos, and I gotta say. Nothing seems impossible with you. Good luck with the new project, and I hope that someday after I finish my degree, I’ll be able to achieve my dreams and to someday have the honor to meet you. (Fingers crossed)
Christian, first of all congratulations on creating this mind blowing villa. I watch a lot of youtube. Your videos about your projects in Bali, especially your villa is my favourite videos (in recent times). Your videos have impacted my perspective of life. I am obsessed with creating a new life in Bali, and having my own home there. Just everything you seem to do, and say resonates with me. I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful informative content. For sharing your discoveries (which I wish more people put that sort of effort into creating the best vibe, the best content) you are living my dream, and your vision for your home is the bench mark for my vision for my home, and what I want to do with my life. I'm going through a tough time. It looks my 15 years marriage is done. I have to move on, and leave my wife behind, and as painful as it is, and emotional, I know I tried very hard to make it work, so I can move on with no regrets. And I look forward to my new exciting life (hopefully in Bali). SO thank you. You have inspired me more than anyone on the planet, and we probably will never meet. But (if you read this) I just wanted to thank you for helping me find clarity in where I want my life to go. I am so excited at the thought of living there, and building a home, I feel invigorated for the first time in many years. BTW, you got a jacuzzi (with glass surround, like your pool) Ive seen this once, and it looks really good, (to stop the wind)
Leave Bali alone. Its now becoming a concrete jungle with all these modern structures.
Beautiful! Love bringing the outdoors inside.
Your contractors are smiling widely... Thank you for investing in Indonesia and using locally sourced materials...
My favourite part was “Arjun animations to be added” 😆
Great video mate and definitely giving us holiday vibes just seeing all the content filmed in Bali. Have lit one of our 500 incense sticks we took home from last visit and feeling very chill 👌
Oh definitely. That was the cherry on top 🍒 😂😂😂
Your creativity knows no bounds. Inspiring!
As a builder in Australia and soon to be building my own new home I will be coming to stay at the lost villa to steal some design ideas from this build for sure. Nice work
No need to steal details ;) we are open for discussion:) we are currently starting also a project in New Zeeland so why not Australia?!😜
You're killing it! Can't wait for more.
Wow - hats off to you for taking risks to create your dream. Looking forward to the final reveal.
Thank you 🥹

Wow! Stefan is the best arhitect and designer I have ever seen
Omg facts
The Tulum style courtyard is SO you! Love the new look Christian 🌴
I am a tile setter id recommend looking at Hardwood tile for the floor aswell, can look amazing and is basically bullet proof lol
Incredible! I love how your neighbor is adding to the project too.
Honestly living for this series! There's something so cozy about it.
don't worry you got this! u are the best
Amazing beautiful looking forward to the finished villa
Coming soon (if I stop changing things 🤣)
I saw your construction site in Tumbakbayuh accidentally and was confused because you said before it's near Uluwatu. I built a bamboo villa near yours in Buduk and I'm happy you changed your original boring plans
Love these videos more than the travel videos, how long to the next one .
Looks amazing and a lot of fun!!!
Nice build. Thanks for sharing your life and passion.
My favorite part is Ruby chilling in the background of your couch narration shot.
I really love this vid! Please keep making these 🤩
So happy to hear that. Many more to come 🔨🔨🔨
@@lostleblanc awesome keep up the great work! Hope to visit you one day!
So excited for you! Sad I’ll be in Bali this August and it won’t be done 😢 yet.
Amazing! Keep building the dream!!!
As long as you pay for all the changes, the contractors will be more then happy to make all the changes 😃
Looking forward to seeing the final result, great edition, friend.
the synthetic wood can be the better choice too because I had wood and so many termites after 10 years all had to be replaced again!
Yes! But luckily Ulin (ironwood) is too dense for termites so you won’t have that issue there either
Ulin wood from kalimantan & sumatera island
If you would like help with the best signature stone carving available in Bali I would be happy to share contacts and make introductions to my friends that specialize in that Art.
I saw you guys during my last visit to bali near Pererenan Beach but you guys were leaving and i was parking the bike so couldn't meet u guys... u guys are building an amazing villa 👌🏻🙂🤟🏻
