Congratulations on the subs. I’m gonna add my two cents now. It’s really a matter of preference and knowing what you want look wise and offset wise that’s important I like them all you can always add your own weight even to plastic wheels. I really like probuild wheels there hot I don’t have any yet. But SSD is hot Treal also and Amazon is the king of cheap 😁so it all boils down to what look u want as the builder. Ok I’m done thanks gr8 video 🦾

Been using injora 1.0 and 1.9’s since I got into rc crawling not to mention tons of other injora stuff. No complaints, $50-$60 Canadian for a set of wheels… common and just as good as wheels twice the price or more.

I bought a set of vanquish wheel a while back and never again. Sure they are pretty sweet but they ain’t $150+ sweet. Treal is about the level I like. They look cool and don’t break the bank. I’ve bought some cheapy amazon wheels in the past and they weren’t worth the savings compared to treal. Anyway congrats on the channel!!

It depends on what the part is, as to how much money I'm willing to put towards it. New transmission case for my SCX6, I shelled out the money for Vitavon parts. Wheels, and things like that, if I like the looks of it, and it does the job of holding the tire on, I'll go cheap. Foams and tires, I'll put some money towards.

I started with just the basic beadlock wheels and still have one set, but I've switched over to using treals because after the hub us mounted its literally six screws to change a tire. If you are old like me lol makes a difference. I do factor in the weight width and color. But only having to remove six screws is a big eye catcher for me. Love your content keep up the great work.

Only have one 1/10 scale crawler so I splurged on wheels and went with a Treal set specifically because I liked the look and color. The vintage look resembles RTR plastic wheels with a pop of color. I noticed thickness and offset specs when shopping for wheels but quickly realized that I didn't care haha(the stakes are not nearly as high as shopping for an automobile). Ended up putting some knock off Hyrax tires from amazon on them the fitment is OK, the tires that came with the Sendero SE are skinnier than most of the aftermarket ones so I just pulled the trigger on the tires based on price point and tread design, but now I'm kind of wishing I went with a "name brand" on the tires too. I also have a trx4m and went with a more "budget" route with wheels and got an Injora brass set MOSTLY for weight, they're mostly black with drill marks that look like beadlock bolts, they're so small I don't even really know what the spoke design looks like if I'm not staring at them you know. The tires I got were DJ Crawlers and they were so worth it compared to the no-name Hyrax set set I got for the Sendero, the rubber compound is good and the inserts that were pre-installed actually work quite well.
Watching this 3 weeks after posting and it looks like you've already gained a lot of subs! I guess it pays to be honest. Congratulations on the channel growth, keep up the quality content. I don't buy expensive wheels. I have 1set of vanquish wheels that came in a trucks of fortune. If I had seen a benefit to the $150+ wheels I would buy more. $35 Amazon wheels work just fine and still look good. I do like to support American companies when I can, but I'm not rich so I also have to look for value per dollar.

I'm after looks and performance from a wheel, so I replace plastic wheels with metal in the look I want. If I change to a new body and/or colour, then chances are I'll get new wheels to suit the look I'm after. All of my wheels come from aliexpress, whether they're Injora or some other brand. I buy quality components such as servos etc, that can be a bit pricey, but worth it. But I don't see the benefit in expensive wheels. I have the cheap wheels on my Capra, SCX10.2 and SCX6, and they're all great.

I’m not into the expensive wheels or the scale hardware. I got a set of new SSD stamped steel wheels with scale hardware from a trade and I immediately traded them for other wheels. I wasn’t about to remove all of those screws to add locktite. I still have my first set of bead locks. They came on the crawler I bought used. They are now missing 6 of the scale screws because of no locktite.
I just want descent looking durable bead locks. I keep different tires on different beadlocks ready to go so I can switch tires easily when conditions change. I’m also trailing the trx4s in dirt, mud and water more than rock crawling lately.

I have bought a couple Vanquish sets as I like quality and looks, and I like supporting the one who (as far as I know) developed the system so many have used. I also like they're US made, and you can shop between two widths. Them using two hub standards is total bullshit though.
I also run some ProBuilds in 1.9 for the looks and features. They're pretty lightweight for anyone who's looking for that. The 1.9s tuck nicely over the brass on my capra axles, narrowing things up. They're nice, but I wouldn't say they're worth the extra cost unless you have a particular reason for them.
I have more Injora than anything. They're quality for the price has really impressed. I can't affod to put Vanquish on all the rig's, even if I really wanted too, and Injora is a solid option even if they are basically ripping others off.
The essentially no-name amazon stuff has been hit or miss. Crappy screws or threads, unsated variances in screw and hub compatability, etc. I have found some hubs and hub weights that are identical to Injora branded ones for a good bit less and stocked up.

Great video....that rig hugs the rocks like a spider. As for wheels I tend to go with the inexpensive wheels that I get off Amazon. Couple of reasons for that. First I think they look and perform just as good as the high dollar wheels for a fraction of the price. Second is that the big name brands are hard to come by up here in Canada and to order them from the U.S. the shipping is often as much as the wheels themselves. Not cost effective at all once you add in the exchange rate too.

Only time I see a use for expensive wheels is when you either need or want huge amounts of weight added. For example there's a set of quality solid brass beadlock wheels available. They cost $100. But they weigh 240 grams per wheel. Combine that with 3brc antifoams and a bunch of tuning rods. And I have a set of wheels that weight 1 pound per wheel. Then by the time you add axle brass and the sort, you can get a super low center of gravity. My use case however is aimed at making a 16 pound trx4 bronco. I simply like the heavy feel of the vehicle and it's extreme towing capabilities. But these wheels would be equally good for competition crawlers.

the only reason i will pay decent money for a set of wheels is if they have some feature (like fitment) that other lack, like high clearance for example (cheap options landing now tho). weight does play a little factor too, i like a light wheel that i can add weight to if needed, and will pay a little extra for that. i get no loss or gain in performance from a $100+ wheelset vs $40 copy of that same wheel, so i go cheap there, but if im looking for something specific in weight/fitment, ill happily pay for it

No, the center face bolts into the wheel barrels so you can move it front and back or flip the barrels and the hub bolts in so you can use different one of those also. Just need to have 3 long scews to make bolting the wheel together easy then its just a matter of tossing in all the others.10-12min each by hand.

I buy vanquish parts all the time I have 3 sets of their axles and I have at least 5 sets of they’re 1.9 wheels the difference between the name brand stuff and Chinese stuff is the type of aluminum vanquish starts with a higher stronger grade of aluminum does it matter in rc no but it’s just like full size rigs there is premium parts and there are tons of cheap knockoffs they all work but what really matters is customization not everyone can offord the best parts when I started rc crawling I was using micas battery’s and only brushed motors everyone has a different budget as long as they customize and are able to rc crawl that’s what matters

I go for the look I want for each rig, try to customize to my own style. Prefer a nice wheel like Treal or Boom Racing, the amazon cheapies are ok but the finish quality isnt as nice and cheap hardware in comparison. All seem to perform fine, dont care about weight in a wheel, and wide is cool too. Wide and deep gives a nice aggressive style.

    Great question...
Wether or not a wheel is expensive is up to the individual but from my experience the look and quality of Vanquish or Boom racing Probuilds is a higher quality, more scale sized hardware and in the Probuilds case can be built in multiple offsets.
Ive got cheap wheels aswell and as a wheel they are fine, its actually hard to judge a wheel on its performance apart from weight. Its really about knuckle clearance, style, scale appearance, finish quality and colour and ease of mounting...
Great time time to be in the hobby as there is a product for everyones budget and needs, I guess the company you support and wether you want a legit replica licenced wheel can sometimes add to the decision and yes price..
Ive got to pay even more a premium as im in Oz so you guys get a better deal.

Vp wheels aren't overpriced taking into account they are made in America with associated production cost. They are also a licenced replica wheel that has a fee tied in.. Inora wheels are made in a cheaper manufacturing country with a lower standard of living with no regard to cloning or IP theft in some cases.
