please visit my amazon shop - www.amazon.co....
This video highlights the diagnosis and subsequent repair of a diesel particulate filter vaporizer, which had a blocked nozzle causing no flow of diesel fuel into the DPF. The ECU see's the lack of temperature rise during re-generation and then puts the engine warning light on. Meanwhile the DPF filter starts to fill until it becomes too full to successfully carry out a re-generation on its own.

Instead of replacing the entire vaporizer which costs alot, just remove the glowplug (if it's the original it might be stuck, just apply WD40 or similar rust/grime remover and heat it with a torch) once out, clean the inside of the globplug tube, let it soak in grime remover and scrub it after and apply air pressure in the tube until you can feel air blowing out. Then just replace the glowplug as it will be busted most likely, you can test it if it holds 1.1 ohms it's fine. Even if you replace the glow plug it's 1/3 1/4 of the price depending on where you get it from.

Is the vaporiser required for a forced static regen or will it static regen without it? My car is a 2014 2.0 galaxy tdci (138 or 140)
I originally had the service engine now warning then after a few more journeys had code 244c come up along with p246B and (conditions incorrect for regen) P2463 soot accumulation.
My mechanic took the car in and put it in a static regen which was successful. I do not think he investigated any further blaming it on driving regime.
I had the car back and now after 300ish miles I have the engine service now warning. Forscan is showing P244c and the soot load is 78%.
I questioned the mechanic as I suspected the vaporiser at fault from the beginning but his view is the vaporiser must be working for it to have completed the static regen when it first had the fault.
    Any advice appreciated

    • @SYDiagnostics
      @SYDiagnostics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The vaporizer will be used for all regenerations whether static or induced by pcm when driving. With the dpf on a 2.0 being far enough from the engine, the vaporizer is needed to increase the temperature to start regen

Between a proper clean and flow test of the vaporiser, and a proper clean of your DPF... It will work properly.
Either pay a diesel exhaust cleaning mob to clean out your DPF, or learn how to clean it yourself.
Usually you can save the DPF, sometimes you can't (ash content and too much heat in the DPF can kill it totally). They only have a lifespan of about 200k kilometers anyway.
Make sure you use C1 oil, low/ultra low saps.
      I have a 2012 Mondeo BTW.

Thanks for your input. The DPF has been cleaned before me posting about this issue, however no chance in getting the DPF_SOOT_LD value to drop.
Anyways, one day at the beginning of July, 5 months after replacing the vaporiser, I disconnected the temp sensors on the DPF/exhaust and reconnected them the next day, cleared out the errors and a few hours later I've noticed the DPF_SOOT_LD value started decreasing. I went for a ride until the regen stopped and the value got to about 30%. All good since then, yet I still have no clue why things didn't improve right after replacing the vaporiser.

usually its a faulty dpf pressure sensor, but can also be a failed / cracked dpf....depending on which vehicle

Vaporiser usually is at fault if you get regeneration conditions not reached or temperature too low during regeneration

Hi . can you please tell me how i can check the fuel pump from the vaporizer dpf.I changed the spark plug from the vaporizer and it is not clogged. error P269F: 73-24 and P246B: 00-2F appears.

With IDS the pump can be activated, or you can power it with an independent power and ground. Have you checked the fuse (dependent on vehicle)
