    My husband was born and raised in Panama. We were planning a trip before the virus hit. I have never been to Panama and it will be our first vacation once everything is under control. We love watching .

    I haven't yet been to the Boquete area (only been to Boca del Toro in Panama so far) but from my experience with volcanoes in nearby Costa Rica and elsewhere, the key to increasing your odds of getting to the summit when there are less clouds is to get there earlier in the day. The reason for this is because land warms faster than water and as temperatures rise over the course of the day the moisture in the earth evaporates rising up in the air and forming clouds at cooler higher altitudes. Maybe next time leave for Cerro Punta much earlier in the morning (or even head to Volcán the night before and overnight there), go straight to Cerro Punto in the morning and then just stop at Aqui va la Niña on the way back to Boquete instead.

      Brilliant suggestion! Thank you! 🙏🏽

    • @ProlijoWT
      @ProlijoWT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think its wild that somplace thats only maybe just 10km from Boquete as the crow flies takes nearly a 2 hour 100km ride to get to by car. Maybe next time you go you might also check out Finca Dracula, which is a botanical garden in the Cerro Punta area. I'd also love to see you do a video of a hike to the Lost Waterfalls, which are just north of Boquete.

    • @AdventureRich
      @AdventureRich  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ProlijoWT My guess would be because you have to drive around the base of the volcano to get there. It's considered a national park, so you can't just drive through 😅

    • @ProlijoWT
      @ProlijoWT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@AdventureRich I'm sure you're right about the reason and that's probably a very good thing too. Imho, it's best to keep such a beautiful natural areas pure and unspoiled, although perhaps only accessible by more adventurous types like us.
      As long as I'm offering unsolicited suggestions, I hope you don't mind my making just one more. In looking at Google Maps I found one barely discernable road on the west flank of Baru. If you Google either Vista a las Estrellas or Faldas del Volcán (near Paso Ancho) and zoom in you can find it. I have no idea about the condition of that "road" but you certainly have the vehicle that could try it.

    Thanks for the Cerro Punta follow-up. I have been wondering what has happened there since the flooding. I wished I could have seen the moon and the rainbow you mentioned at the beginning!. That would be awesome to see!!! I would be afraid to live in the community at the 8:57 minute mark...that is TOO close to that 'mountain'. I'd be concerned EVERY time heavy rains came, thinking the side of that slope would start breaking away! whew, I can't!!!..

    So so Pretty there. Some of those shots could be Farm Lands in the States, we're all the same - just in different Geo Areas ❤ Thanks for the adventure (loved the pool of water sandwiched between the rock wall sides, on your side trip that will be a future Vid) Be Well & Happy Saturday, it's Snowing Pretty good here in Western NY (Buffalo/Orchard Park Area, 14°F here this morning, that's -10°C ~ not sure what temp rating you all use) Peace❤

    Hi Rich, love your scenic video's. In watching today, two things came to mind:
    1. The folks at Toyota need to see your footage to demonstrate what your vehicle can do.
    2. Think about a part time career teaching others how
    to work the drone like you do and capture footage. Awesome stuff!
    Stay safe!

    The videographer here mentions "gale-force" wind. You encounter this in that area, especially at night during the winter months. This powerful moisture-laden wind is locally called "baharéké" (ba-ha-ray-kay). It is best to go during the spring-summer months for that reason. Summer and winter are essentially the same except for that very intense seasonal wind. At night it is a roar like a hurricane, and the buildings have to be constructed to withstand it. All that aside, western Panama is an extremely enchanting place.

    • @AdventureRich
      @AdventureRich  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Finally! The correct spelling of baharéké! Thank you!

    • @notmyworld44
      @notmyworld44 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AdventureRich Now don't give me too much credit for that spelling. I'm a linguist, and I only remember hearing that word from the Ngöbe people while I was there, so I only attempted to render it phonetically. I'm still haunted by the beauty of Panama, and I wish very much that we could go back. When I pass over into Heaven I'm going to ask God to make my part of it look just like Chiriqui Panama! 😉👍
