Just got my carbon surf delivered today. Literally just opened the box. Got off from work it’s 3:30 am excited about this new rod and I live in Long Island. To sleep or not to sleep?... definitely not.
I know everything is mostly personal preference, but for a newbie that never owned a surf rod before, do you think there is any difference in casting ability, ease of casting, and learning curve with moderate vs fast action, or stiff vs whippy rod?
There absolutely is! Rods that are more moderate like the GSB tend to be easier for beginners to use as the moderate nature of the rod generates more forgiveness on your cast, and can hide "sloppy" casting while still getting good results. Fast action rods have 0 forgiveness, so if you mess up your cast, it is really going to show and send your plug exactly where you didn't want it to go.
@@lamiglasrods9098 thank you. I've heard arguments for fast and moderate. All I know is my first and only surf rod is a mojo that to me is pretty fast/stiff. And after about 50 outings over the last couple years I finally felt and saw what a good cast feels like. I know a lot of it is technique. But mostly going to get a more moderate rod for next season. Thanks again.
I know this is old but I use two lamiglas surf rods in fresh water. Super surf 2G Pro 11’ and the GSB 10’. I do mostly chunking with the GSB for big river catfish. The SS-2G I throw metal and heavy swim baits for striper, still chunk with it some ! I highly recommend both of these rods. My best metal Rocket launcher rod is my St Croix Legend. I have 3 of these, one I bought used. Needed to try one at a reasonable price before shelling out big bucks, it’s 10’6”. Also a 10’6” I bought new and a 9’. These rods have no equal. Their fantastic lure rods !!!!!! And you can NOT beat the Shimano Thunnus Ci4 spinning reels, I have two 8000 two 6000 one 12000 and one 4000. Light, powerful high drag reels. They are flawless performers. Worth every nickel !
The fact that Lamiglass thought this video was good enough to post as buyer guide for someone is potentially investing the better part of 1000$ is a clear indication that they are satisfied with mediocrity.
Is that Carbon Surf rod you held in your hand a MH or H rod? Could it cast at least 100 yards if you use a 3oz lure? Also, have you ever used the Insane Surf rod? If so, how is it different from the Carbon Surf rod? Thank you if you could answer my questions, I appreciate it!
Lamiglas warranty is shit! I had to argue with the management & owner to replace my gsb for 6 months ...... never got anything! Lamiglas does not warranty their rods!
Oh on the contrary ! I bought a new high end lami and straight out of the box I tied the line off to check the action and it snapped right in half. Had a new rod 4 days later !
The audio on this video is annoying. Video content appears good but could not get myself to watch with the volume going too low, and hearing mic bumps.

How does the gsb 11ft 2 Peace (2-5oz) handle 1oz bucktails?

What’s the rating on the GSB?

What sized gsb on this video?
no lamiglas insane surf?
Audio fucking blows
this would've been a good video if your volume didn't SUCK!
Does the warranty cover the guides if they break or crack? On the night shift rod. Thanks
Probably not!!! : (
None it does not. Nightshift rods are over priced and not worth it.

The audio is about as serviceable as Lamis' warranty. 50 50 shot your going to hear anything back from Lami.
what spin reel is this??
