The area you were referring to that Hk designed for flip iron sights was not made for your sights. If you noticed the upper receiver above the exiting port is thicker than your normal AR. This not only helps with placement of your cheek when using optics but it also keeps the upper from flexing from over heating using a non lubricated bolt carrier that would cause substantial amount of friction. But in a gun fight you has time to lube their hardware. Great choice on your new purchase by the way. I'm and Hkmr556a1 fan myself. There can only be one if it's survival mode time. Myself also would grab my Hkmr over anything else. ENJOYED the content. ☠💀☠🇺🇸✝️

Sean, you should collab with Arm&Gun channel, he's also a gun hipster with a very impressive collection. You said that MR762 replaced your SCAR 17 - try POF Revolution (which probably weighs half of that HK) or XCR-M.
For the money HK charges for the 556 and 762, I wish they would include a chrome lined barrel. Even a nitride barrel would be great. Not a fan of nitride as I shot one out in about 6k rounds(it was abused but still--I have a noveske light infidel CHF chrome lined abused as much or more with more rounds on it, and I still shoot it out to 600) Unlined for me is a complete no go for a gun I'm shooting a lot.

Is that an H&K maritime mag? Those things are supposedly legit but also heavy and expensive. Could buy 3 or 4 Lancer mags for the price of one of those. Always enjoy seeing the Gucci guns you get. The HK MR556 was a very good choice. Random question is the stock lower receiver compatible with Pmags? Couple years back I heard the HK was using something like Emags, but not sure if that's changed.
Have you shot the MR556 with suppressor yet? Just wondering how it went, i have a similar setup but with the RC2 can. Since the MR556 doesn’t have an adjustable gas valve between normal and suppressed, some say you have to get a zero back pressure suppressor like the OSS.

From one Saker owner to another, ditch the Trifecta mounting system and go with the ASR. After continuous problems I switched and never looked back. Sakers are great cans. I have both the 556 & 762 so I'm not shit talking them. But the Trifecta system, although cool in concept, is problematic. The ASR system is simple and proven.
