You have totally inspired me with this series. I want to plan out a "mixed set" myself as a plus-sized person that is vintage inspired using more modern size-inclusive patterns.
You have my utter respect for using the long, straight needles. I'm pretty sure they'd be flying across the room (either on purpose or...otherwise) if I used them 😂
My gasp at the inside-out sleeve Did the very same thing with my first shirt sewing project, after hand stitching a million teeny tiny gathers and decided to just live with it It’s 3 years later and I’m now redoing the sleeve
Love that you kept the clicky-clacky sounds! The jacket is lovely! I like the idea of pockets on knit garments but I worry I'd put too much in them and stretch things out, lol!
Looks fabulous!! I have to say you look so great in 1940s styles-like you just walked out of a picture or something. I’ve always thought you look a bit like the actress Deborah Kerr :)
the pocket demonstration is so helpful! i am almost at a similar point in my 50s cardigan pattern and it's incredibly useful to see it in action! thank you :)
Thank you for mentioning the knit and purls being wrapped differently. When I first started knitting, I couldn’t figure out was I was doing… I have since learned that my knitting method is sometimes called continental combined. My purls end up mounted on the needle “backwards” which I then just correct the next row by knitting the “back” leg- leg on the far side of the needle. It is still the leg closest to the needle tip.
Oh it's gorgeous. I love the way the two yarns worked up together, but yes, a squosh more room would have been lovely, just to fit over more top styles but also to trap a bit more air between you and the sweater. All in all though, it's lovely and yes, a bit longer on the pockets would be nice but wow, dd you ever learn a cool skill!!!
I found this manual from a local seller and am making this too! The pockets are quite small so I will be storing one (1) cigarette and a lighter in them, a la 1940s lol
I was already going to make a cardigan or two from the 30’s-50’s. However I really wasn’t planning on knitting a structured piece, but I do have some yarn that would work and this has definitely inspired me!
Looks really sharp! Cute idea for instaling the pocketses! I bet the sandwich thing would work well with crochet, if I ever crocget anything that needs a pocket... I guess if you ever did that pocket style again, uou could just reposition it and make the flap on the back bigger?
This is amazing! Just a #Question - Do you prefer using the straight needles vs your circular needles? Is this for authenticity (because its vintage?) what circular needle and straight needle sets do you own? Thanks!
Oh my gosh it's gorgeous! I think this is my favorite of all the pieces (though they are all beautiful). It looks really good on you, too. Loving the vintage knits!
Nice to see you knitting had you thought about using circular needles which are lighter to use? I stopped using regular needles, I find circular ones so much easier
Check out 'Hawick textile & knitting museum it's in the Scottish borders. They were famous for knitting underwear & stockings back in the day. Love your skill & how u show us it. 🎉🎉
I love the shape of this cardigan, fitted but not too fitted and it's one of those items that you can either dress up or down. What pattern is this as and where can I access it please? 😊
I love your videos! I also love the way your needles are stored on your desk. What brand are the circular needles in the jar/crock that shows up at ~2 minutes on this video? They look like jelly necklaces from the 80’s, or gummy strings (my husband thought it was candy!).
Which way do you wrap your yarn for pearl? I always seem to end up with it going the wrong way when I come to knit into it if I use continental. But when I do English knitting I’m fine, it’s just that I’m twenty times slower. My small brain can’t remember what I did with English style long enough to recreate it in continental though so I get in a mess.
it looks like she does combination knitting, so her purls also go ‘the wrong way’. but that’s a valid and very speedy way of knitting if you don’t mind your stitches sitting differently :) so long as you can read the stitches and know how to work them, you don’t have to ‘correct’ your method if you don’t want to. i also knit continental (not combination style) and if you do want your stitches to all sit the same way, the way i remember it is that the right (leading) leg of the stitch should always be in front, so to create the stitch, the yarn needs to come in front of the working needle, over the barrel, then behind it. for me, that means pushing the working yarn down against the top of the needle with my pointer.
Wanted to add that I liked the knitting ASMR portion as I haven't been able to hand-knit for years and I miss the sound!
I'm thoroughly enjoying all this hand and machine knitting content 10/10
This whole series has been so fun to watch and I’m kinda sad we’re almost done! 😭
I loved the click clack of the needles. The cardigan looks super cosy. Not sure I’d manage those pockets tho.
100% sleevils is new addition to my vocabulary. The jacket/cardigan is beautiful!

My gasp at the inside-out sleeve

I've done that, "I can live with this!" then a month or two later, "No, I can't, back to the UFO pile with you."
Thanks for breaking down the pocket construction, that was fun to watch!
Love that you kept the clicky-clacky sounds! The jacket is lovely! I like the idea of pockets on knit garments but I worry I'd put too much in them and stretch things out, lol!
Fantastic!! 🎉 Congratulations on an epic capsule wardrobe knitting masterpiece. The pocket construction on your jacket is fantastic.
So thoughtful of you to ask whether Nutella has anything to add! What a good baby and knitting helper! Please tell her for me that she's wonderful
Looks fabulous!! I have to say you look so great in 1940s styles-like you just walked out of a picture or something. I’ve always thought you look a bit like the actress Deborah Kerr :)
the cardigan looked cute when you tried it on with out the sleeve. well done. lovely cardigan
I love the pocket construction! Thank you for the in-depth look at it!

It's so cute!!!! Slevils! haha! Great term! - Kimberly
Wonderful, you are so clever making that equipment for winding the yarn, you are definitely an engineer! 😊
Sleevils- love it. OMG we’ve all done it!! 😂❤
oh it's almost like a 3 needle bind off! but you're casting on.. i love that it's so interesting

Pockets, drooling.
The knitting asmr was 💯💯💯💯💯
This cardigan turned out super cute! I see why you were switching between cardigan and jacket. It has nice jacket structure.
SO EXCITE - my favorite series continues!
Love it!! It's just such a perfect shape and length. Yay!!
Beautiful jacket. I really enjoyed the clicking of the needle.
I found this manual from a local seller and am making this too! The pockets are quite small so I will be storing one (1) cigarette and a lighter in them, a la 1940s lol
Boy. Can you knit quickly! Looks so nice
Love the cardigan! 😊
Love the curved bottom front edges of this jacket👍

So cute!!! I love the shape!!
🎉🎉🎉 my fav vintage knitter posted!!
It turned out so well! Can't wait to see it all together.

That way of making a pocket is so interesting. I want to try it!
What a lovely cardigan! I love the shape of the front and I love how the plied yarn came out. It's really a beautiful project.
I have this booklet as well.
I love the cardijacket! So snug looking.
This is such a great outcome! I use reclaimed yarn as well, but I have never marled different colors together- it is a good idea.
Wow, it looks stunning. Great choice of buttons and I love the curve up into the button band
It's really cute! I love the rounded hem!
💜
Yay, you did it, and it looks amazing, I'm trying to crochet a jacket shame I can't read crochet patterns. 😅
Looks really sharp!

So nice! You did a great Job 👍

it's so nice! haha, i've never heard the term "sleevils" but i like it
I love your jacket..I will be putting flaps on my next cardigan/jacket. Thank you ❤
All is so lovely and I love them, can all of the patterns coming to your Esty shop?
Though i know your machine didnt make an appearance in this video, i look forward to when you put out your own knitting machine patterns!
It’s been so fun to be with you during this process and your finished knits look fantastic! Looking forward to the outfit twirls next time!
Very nice!
Looks so nice , love this time period series !! Great work !!
Oh my gosh it's gorgeous! I think this is my favorite of all the pieces (though they are all beautiful). It looks really good on you, too. Loving the vintage knits!
Sleevils 😂 I expected the transition screen to say One Chocolate Later ...
❤ love the knitted jacket ..wowwwwwww 🎉
Nice to see you knitting had you thought about using circular needles which are lighter to use? I stopped using regular needles, I find circular ones so much easier
And I love knitting two sleeves, both fronts, a pair of socks or a pair of mittens at the same time. Not to mention afghans!
I'm in dire need of this pattern
That's lovely!
that is so cute!!!!

Bravo!!🎉
Cool!

The pockets were the strangest thing I’ve seen, but very cool

Very nice work and what Beehive book is that what number if it has one????
This cardigan is so cute! I also love how we see you wear the other pieces of the capsule wardrobe while you were knitting this.
I’ve done a “sle-evil” before…and it hurts!
How come you wrap your knits and purls differently? Does that not twist the stitches?
Knots? I didn't hear you say that, did I? We've all made epic errors -- just putting the sleeve inside out is nothing!
Wow

@@sadlittlestray I love knitting combination or Eastern European as it is less painful for my messed up wrists.
@@jjudy5869 thanks for trying to explain both of you. Crochet is so much easier. Knitting remains a dark art for me.
It's quite shocking, the photo of the lady wearing the jacket/cardigan could be your great aunt when young.
Birdy
Don't take it personally. The crochet elephant just has main character energy and it confused your camera for a bit lol
wow :) xxx
Are you a doctor? "We" are knitting...cute.😅
