Nice new group this week DCA. The Sebenza, HiliteXL, Case Hunter, and Launch15 look like your top 4 (haven't bought into the James stuff yet ... but dayz not over).

That table of blades would pay for months of me providing too have a roof over my Families heads. Nice Blades too much for my pocket book for sure. My $29 Civivi Mini Praxis will do just fine !!! 😂😆
Hello KnifeCenter and Mr Anderson, I have a Helle Temagami as a belt sheath knife, and a Reiff F3XC with the kydex sheath I wear as a neck knife. I am wondering which knife you would recommend as a folder for my pocket to either be the perfect middle between those two knives or a knife different enough from both that you think of it as the knife to complete that three knife set?
I love the new KnifeCenter exclusive Sebenza, and I do believe Magnacut to be an upgrade over S45vn, however, I don't think that Magnacut is necessarily a steel that has higher edge retention than S45vn. Obviously geometry and heat treat make a difference in how much abrasion a steel will resist, but extensive testing by Dr. Larrin Thomas (the guy who developed the steel) has led him to rate the edge retention of Magnacut just below S45vn
I'm not saying anything about the price at all here. They can charge whatever they want for this knife. All I'm disputing is the statement that magnacut has better edge retention than s45 VN
Check out Cedric and Ada. His tests have shown Magnacut to have crazy levels of edge retention. I believe the highest of any stainless steel he has tested.

I am surprised to see CRK using it on the Sebenza. When you already own and command the Gold Standard, why change ? As the saying goes, "If it aint broke, don't fix it".
They were using S35VN before that. S45VN is a fairly recent update. Sometimes you see newer blade steels with exclusives and sprint runs and this is a KnifeCenter exclusive.
I would love to buy a Launch 15 The issue is that Kershaw tempers their Magnacut steel at *60 - 62 HRC* that is very sad and way too soft to get a durable edge, It should be tempered at _62-64 HRC_ to hold a decent edge.
DCA, wondering if any of the knife manufacturers have ever considered using roller bearings instead of ball bearings. I’m thinking it might reduce blade play in the knife which usually occurs with ball bearings. Just a thought.
Real steel used roller bearings in a few models. The G5 metamorph has or had them. The older model i have has them. Not sure about the newer ones. Definately increases surface contact at the bearing/blade interface and they are pretty buttery.
