Isn’t the pilot workload higher than a TBM or Piper though? I heard the flight deck and control systems are already outdated and lag far behind its rivals.
The elimination of an overhead panel, and well-thought out button ergonomics that coincide with your checklist/flows, I found this to be more efficient than the TBM 850 workload I’m very accustomed to. It’s really on par with a 2018 TBM 910.
@@jimallen8238that’s false. It does not have a g3000 but the major diff between a g3000 & NXI is the touch screen interface. The NXI does everything the g3000 does. Pilot workload is minimal for a turboprop due to the well laid out cockpit. In a TBM you are reaching all over for buttons in an epic you go left to right and take off. In an emergency all the breakers are right in front of you. Not below dash or on a side panel.
This is definitely an amazing flight in a seriously amazing performing Airplane! If I was ever in the market for that class of aircraft, I would definitely take a very hard look at the epic. I saw it premiered a couple years ago, and I liked the carbon fiber construction of the aircraft. Definitely an amazing bird for sure!
I sure hear that , But for me , being in canada , with the currency exchange , and the awesome Lux Tax that our &*&^% government has come up with , this will add almost 3.75 Mil to the price tag for me , so yes , Lotto tickets every week .

Hadn't seen a great video/vlog on an Epic E1000 GX. I think look for higher is trading their tbm for the epic! 😆This is for sure my favorite 6 passenger turboprop airplane. Without a doubt I would sign up for a new build once I win that lotto on day 1!

Visibility over the panel has improved with this airplane. I would love to see manufacturers even attempt to bring this down another 6". And wouldn't it be great if the glass had some kind of controllable auto-tint w/ UV screen.

Such as...the debate between the P24 and Phenom 300. I like both of the aircraft but I believe the Phenom is the better choice if you are going to use it inside the US because of the top speed edge.
I saw it as a sincere question. The operating cost is dramatically different as well. Unless you’re often over water (though the owner does nonstop to Cancun 😎) or in excess of 1000nm, the time savings for these lighter twin jets may be negligible, but cost savings of Epic significant.

Nice! But I need 8 passenger seats, some luggage, an honest and safe 2,000 mile range and a comfortable flight deck for TWO PROFESSIONAL PILOTS every time I leave the ground.
If you need 2,000 nm, you better have a good lavatory onboard and much larger operational cost budget than the Epic requires! Now, two pro pilots is da static and good idea. Actually, the owner only flies with a two pilot crew, albeit he’s 1/2 of that!

I tend to think that the price is now too high. They are behind on tech compared to TBM 960 and Pilatus NGX. No FADEC or auto throttle? Older Garmin avionics as compared to G3000 with auto land on the TBM (I think) and the latest Honeywell suite on the NGX and auto throttle as well. At 7 mil. I would pay more for a Pilatus(private lav...priceless!) but that's just me.
@@RADThird1there’s a reason Pilatus is getting Garmin cockpit. Lav is a big plus. Always has to fit an owners mission. PC-12 is 60-70 kts slower. That’s a big diff depending on types of missions.

Also, with the 1,200 shp engine, the pilot also must be commercially rated. These steps certainly promote safety, but Bonanzas and Cirrus have drawn all types over the years… Thanks for checking the video out.
The pilots know the risks involved, I’d just like to warn the silly rich people Be aware of who your pilot is and his skill set. As you know, commercial certificate has nothing to do with being qualified to fly this high performance aircraft.
The best single engine turboprop probably ever built. Fantastic performance and numbers they managed to achieve not to mention the sleek line.

FL 340 in 14 mins? A320neo's cannot achieve that when empty PAX. FL340 is not above the weather either. FL410 is above the weather.

Over 450 Million Flight hours on the PT6 variant. Single engine failure is last on the list. Pilot error would be the worry for me.
Have you seen all the tragic results of twins with an engine failure? With a single you can glide to a landing.

@@LookingforHigheronly instrument rated. A commercial rating is not a requirement for this plane. Plenty of people flying them without.
This is a strong recommendation for insurance for the Epic at this E1000 GX price point specifically. You’re correct, not regulatory.
