I just took my 17th tour through Graceland over Christmas. I can't believe I've never driven over to see Vernon's house, knowing it's been there. Glad to see it's being restored and revived. TCB
This house was always decorated with the same color lights as Graceland at Christmas. I started going down there in 66 when I got my driver license to see the decorations. I started attending Humes in the fall of 64. You could feel Elvis in the hallways. I used to go to Graceland and park by the stone wall hoping to catch a glimpse of him but never did. The best I could do was a pretty good conversation one night with Vester who happened to be working the gate.
Touches my heart, fell in love with Elvis 61 yrs ago, I'm 73 now. There will never be another like him. Thanks for the ride Elvis, and thanks to you Spa Guy x
I try to show these videos to my mom but she starts crying whenever Elvis is mentioned... She loves him so much she can't keep it together. Awhile back I watched his comeback special with her on dvd... Tears rolled down her cheeks as she smiled. The emotions this man evokes in fans like my mom is mind blowing. All these years later and his effect is unreal.
I know just how your mum feels about this Very special man Elvis Aron Presley I to love him so much how deep is the ocean that's how much Elvis is loved and more .God bless you and your mum
I am reading and watching this three years after you wrote this and I was thinking the exact same thing - Elvis really did evoke loyalty that has lasted decades...really amazing stuff!
Thanks so much spa guy for taking me down this beautiful memory lane ..i'm loving all the Elvis memories and to be able to view Vernon's house is just superior (;
Vernon had a sweet house, and it is every bit as historically important as Graceland as Verno. was such an iconic and intrical part of Elvis' life, career, and legacy.
This was so good!! Thankyou for going the extra mile and getting all this great coverage of, well.... everything!! I can't tell you how much I enjoy your channel. Billy, you're awesome!

Billy tightened up, bypassed the chair, and went on upstairs anyway! 😂 I would love to see that pool and hot tub brought back. Especially the pool. I hope they are able to do that.
Hi there Spa Guy. Words are not enough to thank you for all you have done for not only us but for Elvis by showing us all the wonderful videos, full of knowledge and information about him. You looked cool on the intercom being Elvis and Vernon. Got to know that Vernon had another house at the end of Dolan street(left side). Elvis used to hang out there too. Knowing you, you will find it or maybe you already know about it. All the best and take care.🕺🏻👏🏼

Great I started laughing when you pick up the phone and started talking this was very interesting thanks for sharing Happy Birthday Elvis ❤️ We Love you and miss you 😪 so
I am always confused about the telephone . I got to know Dee a couple years before her death ' I asked her about the phone upstairs. She said it was not a link to Graceland so who knows. As you go upstairs the bedroom to the right is where Pricilla stayed. The bedroom with the mirrors was the boys room. There was a deck on the 2nd floor but it was removed. The two lions at the front door was put there by Donna Early when she was showing the house during Elvis week. I was a guest of hers and I stayed there for a week., It looks like there's been some work on it. If I ever hit it big I would purchase this and the Circle G for the fans. They both need to be loved.
Another great video Billy! Great to see inside and the back garden, even if they are in need of TLC!! The owners of the Hickory Log restaurant bought the house after Vernon moved into Graceland following Elvis' death. The Hickory Log was opposite Graceland on EP Boulevard where the old Elvis auto museum once stood and was a favourite hang-out for fans and Elvis' entourage. Of course, the restaurant in turn was sold to the Elvis estate to make way for the Graceland Plaza.
I may be wrong but I’ve lived in mostly old houses & they’ve all had these, including the house I live in now. They are light switches. They’re supposed to have a draw string coming down to pull on. In the master bedroom they usually have one by the door as you enter (as with the rest of the rooms) & then another by the bed to turn it off/on in bed. Most old houses have had them removed completely & replaced with modern switches. They’re still quite common over here in New Zealand.
Vernon's house is actually pretty good size, especially prior to the big houses we have today. While with a bedroom hot tub and an outdoor swimming pool, it's a nice crib. Especially, too, since he could just stroll right through the back onto the Graceland grounds or walk a very short distance to get his horse out of the barn for riding. A very nice, quiet country life, which always makes me sad - as it's so peaceful there - yet both Vernon, and especially Elvis - died so young. WONDERFUL PICTURES, TOO - BILLY - AT THE END. ESPECIALLY ENJOYED THE PHOTO OF THE WIDE OPEN FIELD SHOWING THE MEDITATION GARDEN AREA. ANY IDEA WHO WAS CONTRACTED TO BUILD THE HOUSE AND FOR HOW MUCH? I've often thought of buying one of those house that is on the perimeter of the Graceland fencing like Vernon's. And I would imagine they aren't all that much. If anyone has any idea how much those homes go for, please let me know.

Thanks for showing us Elvis dads house. Just imagine how Vernon felt owning his own home because they were so poor and have swimming pools, hot tub etc. That’s a pretty big house. From the street you would never know it. I liked the chair Elvis used to sit in. How long have people been able to go in Vernon’s home? That’s awesome. TY SpaGuy
Amazes me how this Presley family rose to be famous & from dust we go back to dust...& how Vernon's house is still there but is not well maintained. My thinking is this is Elvis's dad house & a big part of history /plus borders with Graceland ...think it should be part of the Graceland attraction / Elvis history with the house included with the mansion tours... Honestly Vernon's house /pool etc should be A-1 maintained. It's history. His dad so many times went with Elvis in the touring / concerts. Father/son were so close.
Never seen this vedio, loved it!!! I'm going to watch part #1. When you pretending to order a peanut butter and banana sandwich brought back memories. My mother would make my brother and I peanut butter and banana sandwiches on fresh not toasted Italian bread. They were so yummy!!! Great vedio!!
How are you my Friend? Thanks for posting these kinds of videos. Makes me feel a little closer to achieving my dream of one day seeing Graceland and Memphis. Maybe.......you could show me around one day. I wonder what Elvis would have thought knowing he has a huge fan in South Africa
On a website, it says Elvis had a doorbell style buzzer installed underneath the dining room table that would summon the kitchen staff. I just searched online and somebody says the one on the ceiling in Vernon’s home was a heat detector for a fire alarm system.
Yes there is indeed a door bell under the dining room table you can see it if you crouch down and look under the far end of the table during the tour and I touched the door bell on the ceiling in Vernon's room and it is a door bell no doubt.. No one has been able to tell me why it is there but it is there and and not a heat sensor..
Fancy living over the other side of Vernon Presley's house right next door to Elvis himself wow !! Just a thought I would of meet Elvis for sure he'd like me I bet !!
I dont know why it took me so long to watch this video. But, I want to thank you for the Elvis history lessons. It is very much appreciated. Next time I get to Memphis, I would Love to meet you. Just to say Thank You in person.
I had a very deer friend who was a care taker of this home for awhile. I visited her a spent the night and slept up stairs in Elvis's bedroom. Lots of fun times have been had in this home.
Very good Job Spa Guy. I was just in Memphis for four nights, June 23-26. Vernon's house was closed as usual. Never got to see the inside till now. I drove over to Audubon and the construction crew were over there working on the repairs from the fire.

SG, this was really cool, nice work
Muito legal este vídeo da casa do pai de Elvis Presley, Vernon Presley saudades de um cantor incrível abraços de São Paulo, BRAZIL. 🇧🇷
Awesome Billy. Thank you Sir! Love and appreciate you
Great video thankyou so much Billy God bless
Thanks for showing us Elvis dads house. Just imagine how Vernon felt owning his own home because they were so poor and have swimming pools, hot tub etc. That’s a pretty big house. From the street you would never know it. I liked the chair Elvis used to sit in. How long have people been able to go in Vernon’s home? That’s awesome. TY SpaGuy
The chair was not actually one Elvis sat in that is a myth i later found.. The house was open Elvis week in 2017 and hasn't been since..
@@SpaGuy Why?
Amazes me how this Presley family rose to be famous & from dust we go back to dust...& how Vernon's house is still there but is not well maintained. My thinking is this is Elvis's dad house & a big part of history /plus borders with Graceland ...think it should be part of the Graceland attraction / Elvis history with the house included with the mansion tours... Honestly Vernon's house /pool etc should be A-1 maintained. It's history. His dad so many times went with Elvis in the touring / concerts. Father/son were so close.
Please don't blame Priscilla they are 3 sides to the story right side wrong side and real side.
@annfurlong6439
It's well know Elvis cheated on her
I enjoyed these 2 vids on Vernon's house very much. Must say that Memphis looks quite nice and green. I would love to go there some day...
btw: I guess you sneaked your way to upstairs? "-)
I love your video sir keep em coming pls.
Thanks for all of your hard work bringing us Tennessee history
I don't believe I have ever seen the Racketball court!? Another awesome video Spa Guy. Thank you for filming. :)
My mama was a big Elvis fan also & she passed on a few months back I know she finally got to meet her dream idol lol.
I hope it's open in August during Elvis Week, because i'm in Memphis then !
How are you my Friend? Thanks for posting these kinds of videos. Makes me feel a little closer to achieving my dream of one day seeing Graceland and Memphis. Maybe.......you could show me around one day. I wonder what Elvis would have thought knowing he has a huge fan in South Africa
Obrigada !!!! Adoro tudo que diz respeito a Elvis ❤️ Triste ver a casa de Vernon assim no abandono. Deve ter sido uma casa alegre no passado.
@@SpaGuyit would be interesting to get in the roof to see if there is any electrical wiring connected to the so called door bell
Thanks for another great video SG!
Very good Job Spa Guy. I was just in Memphis for four nights, June 23-26. Vernon's house was closed as usual. Never got to see the inside till now. I drove over to Audubon and the construction crew were over there working on the repairs from the fire.
I just this awesome video, the sensor on the ceiling in Vernon's room is a heat sensor for fire alarm.
You are correct!!
Good video . I think I need to see part 1 to get it all !!!
