I was moving loot to a different base in a balloon and got bodied by the chinook. Fell apart instantly.
I used to take it with minis when they were free road spawns, but it never occurred to me to use a hot air balloon... new rust goal!
I believe it is possible to destroy it with a drone, its just a lot harder to hit the right spot compared to with a mini. I saw it done in a recent kcmo video
You can actually kill it with a drone if you hit the rear side perpendicularly, it causes the chinook to lose control and crash, sometimes even just one shots it in the air

If you push with the car, does it show the crate moving on the map? If so, sounds like an HQM car base is the way to go

Did you test crate in truck bed with the double truck bed in the middle? Cockpit with engine and rear seats on the end. You'd be slow as shit going uphill but it might stay on as long as you go straight
I didn't, it could possibly work. crate physics seemed a bit weird so not sure. would be super hard to get the crate to land on the car anyway though since it's not always in the exact same spot
Kcmo was able to break it with a drone in his latest video, it seems like the sweet spot is the rear prop gears

I couldn't get it to happen but I was able to ram it off it's course so it may just be a matter of hitting the perfect spot. Then you can build a base around crate too, crazy! definitely should check out that video

If you move the crate does it show up on the map where it is now or where it was dropped?
Sebbyk tryed catching it with a massive netting wall but it would ajust it's pathing an go over
yea I tried a super tall wall as well but it always went around. it certainly does a better job of avoiding player objects now than it used to, but nini's video is only a year old and I've seen people in chat claim chinook hit their base not that long ago

I have an irrelevant question cuz i need help
when i luanch rust it closes immediately after launch.
i reinstalled the game twice and verified it multiple times and it still resists
also the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe in the gamefiles wont open even as administrator ( a prompt opens but closes immediately ). i dont know what to do ,i would really appreciate a solution thanks!
Also, you can reset the crate timer by shooting it ;)
not reset , just add more seconds to it by each bullet
About destroying the Chinook, is it feesable to do it with HVs or real rockets?
Yeah. It only takes a few HVs

Hvs but you have to shoot it through the rear open hatch
IIRC it is pretty impractical to destroy with HVs. I shot a ton at it and it didn't go down. I also tried killing all the scientists but the thing flies itself without a pilot so....

This is patched since helis no longer can get C4 stuck to them, because mini bombing (where u put like 6+ sets of '8 C4s' /w ea on a diff frecuancy and u blow them up in succession to drill down x amount of floors.... yeah, I had a lot of fun until it got patched.
I’ve seen someone do it with a drone it took forever thought they had to use 2 and hit it in the tail
Once we made a huga base on clif it almost crashed every time in it and got destroyed.
This does work with drone, you've got to aim at the back

This isnt all possible ways. You can crash Chinook with drone!

This can be done with a shovel. A partner drops you from the mini onto a cargo helicopter and you hit it with a shovel, the cargo helicopter explodes.

2 Hvs from behind it from a mini can kill the driver and cause it to crash
it takes way more to kill the pilots now, and then it keeps flying even without them :X its weird

yea I tried a bunch of times but never got the drone to work, but kcmo's video is awesome lol I think you have to hit it just right and maybe the heli needs to be going in the right direction as well. I was able to knock it off course just never fully break it
