Go to the C.G. Rec to turn in your MMC application... They can sign instead of a notary, plus they will review your documents, so it's also nice to know we're your home port Rec. Just advice that my Port agent from my local told me... I am glad I did.
When I made this video, you had to have your MMC prior to applying. Which requires you to get the physicals. Then once you applied, SIU requires you to get their physicals. Currently, they’re not requiring the MMC document to start the school.
It’s basic stuff. Maybe fractions if you’re unsure. It’s not really a test, more of a placement. They’ll give you tutoring if you place under an eighth grade level.
Overall, the program is the same. Last year (summer 2020) they temporarily postponed classes. Currently, (spring 2021) they are still having classes, though they are doing so at a lower capacity. Generally they’re having around fifteen cadets in any given phase at a time. They’re providing and requiring masks for movement around the campus. Beyond that, the program has remained the same. That’s a great question by the way. Thank you!
I think SIU is the way to go. You could get your documents and try MSC there’s pros and cons to that as well. If you’re in good shape you’ll be better off than a lot of people already. The program is ever changing, but p1 is 16 weeks, no pay, p2 is 60 days and you’ll get about 3k a month, p3 is no pay, p4 is 120 days and you’ll make about 7k a month
I have diesel engine experience but leaning toward deck. Can you give me pros and cons to both? Also talk a little about out sea sickness. Will that shit go away haha
@@todaysmodernpirate How long is P3 ? And I assume you’re talking about the stages in the SIU program? My biggest hurdle would be supporting my family until I get some pay under me. I Definitely leaning towards the SIU program. Thanks for answering my questions man, this stuff has been convoluted to navigate.
@@RJ-li2xdThe pros and cons of deck work are we’re the catch all. I’ve worked in the engine room when they needed help, in the galley when they needed help, but I’ve yet to see any other department come out and chip and paint. Hey! I am unfamiliar with one stop, so I can’t really speak on that. SIU will not pay for any dental appointments, however, most dental agencies will give you a free exam. In that you can get them to sign off on the dental document.
@@todaysmodernpirate I called pp about that it is a dept of labor program for help if you need it to help pay for your mmc and twic things of that nature

The physical, vaccines, and Benzene exposure test was 270 up front Money Order only at the Hall in Baltimore
How's it going out there
Why would you get your dot physical twice? Shouldn’t you wait and get the SIU cg physical to save money on the drug test and the dot physical?
