No joke, me too. I was like "holy fuck, being on board that plane would have been hell!!" as I watch those tracers make contact... Then realizing it's a game once it crashes and the animations looked like a video game.
I was sorta tipped off by some of those maneuvers and the fact that the pilot didn’t immediately turn away and haul ass in the other direction. But damn if it wasn’t convincing. Had me until the aircraft explosion in the head on.
The way the CIWS was tracking was realistic. It's got to lead the aircraft to be able to hit it. If the aircraft is constantly maneuvering then the CIWS can't hit it, especially if it's flying tangentially (anything except towards or away). As soon as the aircraft was flying straight nose in though, no more lead required, and blammo! This is of course assuming that the CIWS doesn't have a second order tracking system, that compensates lead for (relatively) constant rate turns and the like, which I don't know, nor have seen any specific evidence for.
Everything was so damn convincing until crash.
Imagine what kind of vids the pros (CIA) can make!!

ぜんぜん弾が当たってないというコメントが多いですが、これは当然かと思います。
ファランクスciwsは通常、目標との距離が2300mを切ると射撃開始しますが、その最大有効射程(弾が命中するであろう距離)は1500m、確実に命中するのは"1000m以内の距離"です。
動画内で輸送機がこちら側に向かってくるまでは発射された弾丸が直進せずに大きく下側に逸れていると思います。おそらく敵機との距離は2000m〜1500m程で有効射程の外だったのではないでしょうか。
また、ファランクスciwsは"自身に向かって直進"してくるミサイルを迎撃することが目的の兵器です。動画内のように弾丸が飛ぶ方向に対し横向きに飛行する飛行機が相手では弾丸を命中させるのに必要な偏差が大きくなってしまい、いくらコンピュータ制御といえど相手が少し飛ぶ方向を変えれば、発射された弾丸は簡単に避けられてしまいます。
つまり、輸送機が横に飛んでいる間全く命中しないのは当然なのです。
そもそも、敵の飛行機をファランクスciwsで迎撃することは実戦ではあり得ません。対空ミサイルでファランクスciwsの射程に入る前に撃墜できるからです。
