In my opinion, 91 Days is the best thing I've seen.... ever. It was brilliantly written, had an excellent dub, and didn't pull any punches. I loved how it wasn't purely focused on the action. In fact, it was actually extremely realistic, and that was the thing that made Lagusa such a terrifying character. He was just so... human. Monster is my favorite anime of all time! The mystery is so good and compelling, I watch it at least once a year! There are so many parts to it I still havent connected all the dots! The characters and plot are amazing. The best scenes for me were when nina reads the storybook talking about Johann and when she takes off her wig!! 😱 For anyone wanting a quick plot detail before watching it- a japanese surgeon in Germany chooses to save the life of a young boy who came in first, rather than an important rich man with money. His career and life start to derail because of his choice. Years later the boy he saved grows up to be a serial killer, kills people at the hospital, and frames the doctor who saved his life. The doctor has to go into hiding but gains skills to hunt down the serial killer across Europe to try to kill him before he's used in a massacre level plot. As a murder mystery/ thriller buff, I highly recommend it!
Well Zack from Angels of death wasn't technically an orphan. He was sold by his mother to an illegal Orphanage, because she found him disgusting after her lover burned Zacks skin. But it's never told if his Mother still lives or who his Dad is. Not in the Game, not in the Manga and not in the anime. So he could be, but we don't know.
Angel of Death, Terror in Resonance and 91 Days are actually so good though, from start to finish. I'd recc those three for sure. Good stories and good characters and the art styles are good too.

I know this is an old video, but pretty much all the main cast of Jormungand fit the bill of cold blooded killers save for like. One character. Your MC is a child soldier, your female lead is an arms dealer, and almost everyone else is either ex spec-ops or intelligence agent. Shit's treated lightly in series, but Koko's team of around a dozen or so people is a sheer force of pure carnage
Deserve the Sub. most anime recommendations on youtube are the same commercial, boring plot trash about entering another world like an rts. Notable mentions: Zetsuen No Tempest, Mai Hime and Elfen Lied
If remember correctly the terror in resonance guys weren’t cold blooded killers. I’m pretty sure just wanted the world to know what the gov was doing to them. I’m pretty sure they went out of their way to have innocent people evacuate before destroying something. It’s been a few years since I watched it but I wouldn’t put them in the same category ass the guy from angels of death
Angels of Death HAS to be my favorite psychological anime! Below AOD, are my four other favorites and just some horror anime I know but they don't top off as good as AOD itself. [Another. Corpse Party. Daganronpa. Chainsaw Man.] ------------------------------ [Elfen Lied. When They Cry Deadman Wonderland Devilman Crybaby. The Future Diaries. Bug Island / The Island Of Giant Insects - (This one, I MUST warn is f*cked up!) Death Note. Tokyo Ghoul. Shiki. Mieruko-chan - (The ghosts in this one are as scary or a bit disturbing as most people would be able to handle.) Bloodivores - (Didn't get to see this one yet but I'm just putting this one here anyways.) Re:Zero - (This one is more of a magical fantasy but with lots of deaths, blood, and some body parts to finish off.)] If I come back to this video someday, I'll update this list with some more anime names.
I was never able to watch the entire show, just small glimpses on TH-cam. But I have read the manga and it is the best one I have ever read. I absolutely love it. It shows a little more than the anime I believe. To give an example the anime only shows Zack's and Rachel's past. While the manga shows Eddie's, Cathy's and Danny's.
Many animes missing in this video... 1. ANOTHER (must watch anime) 2. CORPSE PARTY (One of the best horror anime) 3. Junji ito collection 4. Death note (one of the bestest anime's of all time) 5. Angels of death (very emotional psychological anime) 22. 91 days (very underated) All the anime's in this list are 18+ and if any any anime misses kindly write it down 👇🏻
Awesome list, though in my personal opinion I think you missed a twisted one, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Not as bloody as some on your list but definitely out there. Aside from that one I've definitely got to see a few on this list
Johan is an amazing character. He is the worst kind of villain because he is so unassuming and seemingly harmless. For me, Monster was a tough watch. I don't like how physiological thrillers mess with my mind, but the story is so well-written it was impossible to look away. 🫣 I know some of the young ones might disregard this anime cause the art style isn't all flashy and shiny like today. However, the themes and moral dilemmas this show raises truly makes the audience ponder and question the line between right and wrong, good and evil. It's definitely worth a watch, imo. 👌🏾
Monster is by far one of my favorites. Most people won’t give it a chance given that it is such a very long manga, as well as the art style being an older watch, but every second is worth it. Johan is incredibly dark. One of my favorite panels is of Johan pointing a finger at his forehead while Kenzo was pointing a 🔫. Poor Kenzo man. Johan dressing as his twin sister was an insane but not shocking twist given Johans psycho personality. And then the endinggg. Gave me chills.
@asherjames5435 Well, it is long; but I mean, ppl watch Naruto and One Piece that have like 1,000s of episodes. So, I can't say if this is really the reason ppl wouldn't watch Monster. It's a more mature story, with themes that the very young might not completely appreciate. 🤷🏿♀️

I've ready watched angels of death and it's actually nice to watch all the blood and gore caused by the crazy guy
Such a good anime
I watched this vid looking for a new anime to watch and chose to watch monster, and I’m so happy I did, it’s a master piece
very well..heres we got some underrated
dark anime....tnx
6:45
Narrator: the moment you find a character that uses a number instead of a name you know something is wrong with them....
*Voices inside my head*: He knows too much he needs to go...
Me: Roger That.
91 days is painfully underrated
big thumbs up for including 91days
The Future Diary should be on this. That one chick was demented
Code gease is just amazinggg if u r looking for an anime to watch code gease is the best option istg its soooooo amazing and it has a lot of twists its overall simply magnificient
Yes monster is in no 1 always underrated, I couldn't agree more ..one of my favourite anime..sad but I have watched all...but thanks
Thank you for satisfing my needs. 😢
Wow it's one of those rare tops which was made by ppl with brains. Such a good top man... I totally agree with it. But I think it needs a place for Death Note. Because Light's transformation was so sick omg it's classics everyone should know)
Loved Terror in Resonance, Monster, and Inuyahsiki. Have to watch 91 days now
I loved the part in Inuyashiki where the guy starts to kill all the trolls on Internet that were trolling him.
Somehow, this shows are my cup of tea. There is just something about them that feels entertaining to watch😊
Tanya is not evil. Tanya is a pro. Nothing more, nothing less. And boy do I love that anime!
Happy to see Inuyashiki get some love! Do not mistake it for the similarly named, older anime Inuyasha which is for kids. Inuyashiki was one of the darkest anime I've seen, and also pretty good overall. But not for the faint of heart. 91 Days as well.
Eeeh, tame titles, thanks for the recommends definitely watching them all
Some sugestions for dark anime:
Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls
Shigurui: Death Frenzy
Berserk
Elfen lied
Mirai Nikki
Hellsing Ultimate
Tokyo Ghoul
Parasyte The Maxim
Attack on Titan
Gantz
Jigoku Shoujo
Ergo Proxy
Highschool of the dead
Ajin
Redo Of Healer
Basilisk: Kouga Ninpou Chou - sorry it was this one
Terror in Resonance and Code Geass are the reasons I'm so interested in anti-hero protagonists
Thanks for posting been searching for some goodey and bloody anime for a long time ohh I'm pleased. Ari gatou
Thanks for reccomending. I had a fun time watching Angels of death. It made me shed to tears in the ending. To me, I actually liked the character Danny, yes even though hes like the ultimate boss but y'know, he has his reasons and a sad past. I believe everyone there had a sad past.
Except for Cathy. And probably Gray.
5:33 A body count that can rival Light Yagami’s, now I’m scared.
Actually surprised Death Note wasn’t on here
same
Highly recommend Jormungand if you are lookin for more shows like this.
These going to be great
Bang, keep it up and don't be healthy and continue
I think 'Elfen Lied' deserved a spot on this list, peep it if you haven't.
Dude almost to 1M subcriber sheesh
91 days is like so satisfying and it feels like a movie with just 12 eps but so much happening it is a master piece my fav anime
My opinion which anime has the best cold MC is REDO OF HEALER MC is a boss in the making image making a princess your personal slave. Respect 🔥🔥💯💯💯
Monster is a MASTERPIECE
Wow, keren bro!!! Good job
I'm so happy to see angels of death in the list
Angels of Death was the first anime I watched. I’m not sure what to feel knowing it’s probably one of the darkest ones I happened to watch first.
Damn my first one was elfenlied
Akame ga kill is really something else... Makes you wanna rethink existence
Oh... Monster on the first list. No shit. I've been following this story from the manga and really impressed with how the story developed.
Deserve the Sub. most anime recommendations on youtube are the same commercial, boring plot trash about entering another world like an rts.
Notable mentions: Zetsuen No Tempest, Mai Hime and Elfen Lied
Thank you for the info on number of episodes and whether there's a dubbed version
Looking for a good anime that psychologically gets to you like Happy Sugar Life but I guess in the meantime I'll just rewatch Future Diary.
Daganronpa.
Chainsaw Man.]
------------------------------
[Elfen Lied.
When They Cry
Deadman Wonderland
Devilman Crybaby.
The Future Diaries.
Bug Island / The Island Of Giant Insects - (This one, I MUST warn is f*cked up!)
Death Note.
Tokyo Ghoul.
Shiki.
Mieruko-chan - (The ghosts in this one are as scary or a bit disturbing as most people would be able to handle.)
Bloodivores - (Didn't get to see this one yet but I'm just putting this one here anyways.)
Re:Zero - (This one is more of a magical fantasy but with lots of deaths, blood, and some body parts to finish off.)]
If I come back to this video someday, I'll update this list with some more anime names.
1. ANOTHER (must watch anime)
2. CORPSE PARTY (One of the best horror anime)
3. Junji ito collection
4. Death note (one of the bestest anime's of all time)
5. The Future dairy
6. Dark gathering
7. Happy sugar life
8. School days
9. Monster (one of the best psychological anime)
10. Tomodachi game (One of the bestest psychological anime and manga is on another level)
11. Gosick (very underated gem)
12. The promised Neverland
14. Terror in resonance (very underated but one of the best anime)
15. Darling in the franxx
16. Perfect blue (one of the best psychological movie)
17. Heavenly Delusion (underrated gem)
18. Erased (a masterpiece)
19. Elfin lied (one of the most underrated anime but very good storyline and definitely r+)
20. The fruit of grisaia ( of the best underated psychological anime as well as excellent characters and excellent storyline)
21. Devilman crybaby
22. Angels of death (very emotional psychological anime)
22. 91 days (very underated)
All the anime's in this list are 18+ and if any any anime misses kindly write it down 👇🏻
my fav anime and my fav dark anime is kings game and parasite
Awesome list, though in my personal opinion I think you missed a twisted one, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Not as bloody as some on your list but definitely out there. Aside from that one I've definitely got to see a few on this list
When I just started watching anime I came across #9 Grisaia no kajitsu and it stained a small piece of my soul.
kinda surprised arucard isnt here, unless seras is the actual mc of hellsing
Hyakkimaru from Dororo should definitely be an honorable mention
yes ive seen it and its amzing
disappointed you didn't include Hellsing.
when i saw the thumbnail i knew monster will be here
Dude, Monster is so effing epic. That’s one anime I’m never rewatching.
Terror in resonance is my favourite comfort anime. Highly recommend
I forgot about that show 91 days. I remember seeing the first two episodes and forgot about it. Now I need to go finish
If Attack on Titan was in here the atmosphere in this would have changed😏😏😏😂😁
Characters were well executed. I see what you did there. Roflmao
non of these MCs are as savage as Alucard from Hellsing.
Terror in resonance is a masterpiece
Johan is an amazing character. He is the worst kind of villain because he is so unassuming and seemingly harmless. For me, Monster was a tough watch. I don't like how physiological thrillers mess with my mind, but the story is so well-written it was impossible to look away. 🫣
I know some of the young ones might disregard this anime cause the art style isn't all flashy and shiny like today.
Thought redo of healer, arifueta and worlds finest assassin would've been on this list.
Let's not forget Overlord. Hahahaah, that guy just kills people cuz of no heavy reason! Surprise surprise, he doesn't have a traumatic past either. xD
@@anubhavmuku96 what you mean no heavy reasons? The humans tries to rob his home even tho he gave them money and kills his friends.
@@DeviousMar they were under the impression that the "home" were ruins. He could have politely informed that he was still there and doesn't appreciate the presence lol. Btw I understand his actions though. He's not human, so he can't be humane. Just that it's still funny.
91 days is a masterpiece.
I've already watched every anime in every top 10 anime video ever
