+Crash Bandlcoot Maybe is been too long and you guys forgot how it was, but it was actually quite fucked up and dark. A story doesn't need to be constantly gory and psychological to be dark. The whole concept of little girls being used as disposable weapons in a world that discriminate them was dark as shit, but the anime itself had plenty of disturbing moments. I mean, did you guys forgot the little girl who poured molted lead in her eyes because her mother hated her eyes? If I remember she was killed in the end... Or that time when we got attached to the orphan school girls in some nice heart-warming episode, just to have them all killed in a bomb attack by some bastards who discriminated them? That shit was dark....
@@davidgreen5994 "A story doesn't need to be constantly gory and psychological to be dark." Umm, that's literally what dark is: if it isn't both, it's one or the other. You see, when it comes to anime, you have edgy (wannabe dark titles) like SAO, Arifureta, High School of the Dead, Date A Live, Freezing, Assassin's Pride, the list goes on; titles that aren't "constantly gory and psychological" because of stupid things like harems and lolis which ultimately put their plots in the backseat (the type of "dark" a 13 year old would write, hence "edgy"). And then you have ACTUAL dark titles like Berserk, Babylon, Death Note, Shiki, Another, The Promised Neverland, Psycho-Pass, Parasyte, Monster, Terror in Resonance, etc. Wonder where Black Bullet fits? Definitely not with actual dark anime. Edit: A loli harem of cute little loli girls getting blown up doesn’t make me think “oh, that’s dark”. It makes me laugh and wonder who tf came up with that…a 13 year old 🤣? Don’t talk to me about dark until you can’t even sleep with your girl because you’re still traumatized by the fact that your father figure sold your booty for pocket change while you were a kid, and now you have to watch said girl get piped right in-front of you by your best friend (and enjoy it so bad she cripples herself) while the kid YOU put in her is tainted by the seed of her rapist and later becomes his vessel for reviving. Don’t talk to me about psychological until the dude you wasted YEARS of your life trying to get revenge against finally dies in a way you didn’t want and now you have nothing left to live for or return to because you murdered countless innocents in your blind pursuit of vengeance, a truth so hard to bare you willingly relinquish your freedom and live on as a farm slave. @@6ixlxrd Not of the 'edgy' anime you mentioned are in any way or form considered as being dark. Naruto... Mirai Nikki! How could this anime not be on any of these lists, a dark romance taken to the extreme in such a fantastic manner. Deserves more love than it gets!
Gunslinger Girl is a great watch, but pulls the heart strings as you learn about the girls past and the things they do on the "job". Fantastic list. I am ALWAYS looking for darker, more mature, earnest animes. Black Bullet is one of my favorite animes, though, I usually cannot rewatch it, because of....that event. It haunts me.
My recommendations: *Akame ga Kill:* Often gets a bad rap because of just how many main characters die in gruesome ways, I really enjoyed it though. *Fate/Zero:* The darkest of the Fate series imo (haven't seen the movies yet), some dark scenes come to mind, especially involving Caster. *Grave of the Fireflies:* Anime film that presents the real atrocity of the atomic bombs, no holds barred (you will cry). *Berserk:* Obviously. Already covered in your first video. *Mouryou no Hako:* If you get bored easily you will NOT enjoy this anime, it is very dialogue heavy. Most of the anime is leading up to an ending which is very good and has some really dark themes. *Shiki:* Cannot recommend this enough, it's about vampires taking over a small village. Conversely to what you might expect, a lot of the dark scenes are how the villagers band together to oppose the vampires (sometimes committing cruel acts). *Zankyou no Terror:* Two teenagers on a mission to commit acts of terrorism. As is revealed, they have a dark past. No really happy moments here.
i really wish babylon was more famous...... Babylon is one of the best anime of the year in my opinion.. The story and the characters were fucking awesome so plzz guys give a try. i really wanna watch another season if its possible
The video: *do not watch this anime* *Me Who cried more on jojo characters who died and became a meme* :You dont know whats the full potential of dark is
It started off good, but the show got pretty far up it's own ass once the plot went international. They never really explained what Ai's motive or plan was, the ending seemed like it was made no sense and they were trying way to hard to look deep by throwing around entry level philosophical thought experiments. Then there was the UN board meeting where all the world leaders were floating in a void debating stoner philosophy while galaxies exploded in the background. I know the animators were just trying to make it more interesting than a bunch of guys sitting around a board room, but I couldn't stop laughing because it looked like just took ALL the drugs.
Finally someone knows it too!! I tought I was the only one! and yeah, it's amazing, and dark AF, even without explicit violence, the psychological part in it is top notch. Terribly underrated.
Monster is fucking amazing, and the dub is perfect, with Liam O Brien, Patrick Seitz, Keith Silverstein, Laura Bailey, Richard Epcar, among others doing a spectacular performance. I highly recommend the dub.
Monster is a Masterpiece. It's not just a anime, it's a scripture, a 74 episodes essay on Human Psychology and Philosophy. It clearly shows the difference between Love and Nihilism. ***It's only for Intellectual People*** You will not like the show and will not be able to understand the ending if you are not intellectual.
I watched some of these animes and I think thanks to this list I have some new anime to watch :) When it comes to dark anime my favourite ones are Puella Magi Madoka Magica (wich stars of as a typical cute magical girl anime but gets really dark) and Mahou Shoujo Site (again with the magical girls but in this anime its right from the start filled with violence and abuse)

Nice video. Keep doing this tops.
I still cant get over babylon. Its plot is amazing.
I love it... Tnx I'll watch these later. 👍👍
I think future diary belongs to this list.
Just saying ✌️
Fantastic list. I am ALWAYS looking for darker, more mature, earnest animes. Black Bullet is one of my favorite animes, though, I usually cannot rewatch it, because of....that event. It haunts me.
Didn't think "your lie in april" could be a scary intro
Your Lie in April hurt my soul
@@diamondheat9 Was such a good one though.
Thank you for showing me new anime I'd be interested in.
Hoping for a part 3 💚
I watched the first episode and disappointed you didn't include monster. But you nailed that in this episode.
"shiki" and "kite" are missing.
I loved the list.
But I wonder what anime is in your thumbnail?!
@@GutsEnthusiast thanks a lot, friend
I recommend gunslinger girl.
Now I know where the inspiration for the movie Hanna and the current Amazon show came from Gunslinger girl.😎👍🏽
Black Bullet last Episode was Dark and Beautiful
Yea Kisara sliced her brother in half
Delay reaction.
Fav part
@@nem6358 TBF I'd be more shocked if I came across a non-crazy person in that world setting.
You can add Dorohedoro to the next video, would highly recommend. ^^
My recommendations:
*Akame ga Kill:* Often gets a bad rap because of just how many main characters die in gruesome ways, I really enjoyed it though.
The movies are much darker than Fate/Zero. Trust me, I watched them.
You can also add Made In Abyss and Ajin: Demi Human to that list as well.
Thanks for that list :)
Glad that monster was on the no 1 spot with my all time favorite antagonist johann liebert ❤
People: which one are you going to watch?
Me: YES !!!
The thumbnail is from anime Tokyo ghoul season 2..
Hlo?
What do mean mr obvious?
@Good AND Bad not everybody knows the anime dumbass
@Good AND Bad no man...I love you very much
@Good AND Bad what ep
I really recommend black bullet, you don’t know how many buckets I filled from crying. Also gunslinger girl are also good.
i really wish babylon was more famous...... Babylon is one of the best anime of the year in my opinion.. The story and the characters were fucking awesome so plzz guys give a try. i really wanna watch another season if its possible
Monster is so scary believe me when i say this. The tension is getting bigger from the first episode.
Loved the intro... Make more like this❤️
babylon was my favorite from this series...i mean the begining is veryy slow but after 2 episode the shit start to go down
The video: *do not watch this anime*
*Me Who cried more on jojo characters who died and became a meme*
:You dont know whats the full potential of dark is
Thank you for spoiling me
@@janelle192 Nigga you don't even know who died.
From the New World broke my heart so hard I'd swear it feels like we were dating the story cheated on me. The scars it left will never fade...
babylon actually made my heart race it was so intense
It started off good, but the show got pretty far up it's own ass once the plot went international. They never really explained what Ai's motive or plan was, the ending seemed like it was made no sense and they were trying way to hard to look deep by throwing around entry level philosophical thought experiments.
Then there was the UN board meeting where all the world leaders were floating in a void debating stoner philosophy while galaxies exploded in the background. I know the animators were just trying to make it more interesting than a bunch of guys sitting around a board room, but I couldn't stop laughing because it looked like just took ALL the drugs.
Paranoia Agent is super underrated and fantastic
me: sees monter at number 1 presses like
Nice top 1
Bokurano. loved the gut punch reveal 3 episodes or so in when you find out its not a typical giant robot anime.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I'm here for the thumbnail and so are you
and that's actually fucking true
True 😂
H2O SUN anime : triange x
@@gedediva Thanks Bruh
@@H2OSUN no problem . i want watch this video to see that anime. but it just clickbait
I watched some of these animes and I think thanks to this list I have some new anime to watch :)
When it comes to dark anime my favourite ones are Puella Magi Madoka Magica (wich stars of as a typical cute magical girl anime but gets really dark) and Mahou Shoujo Site (again with the magical girls but in this anime its right from the start filled with violence and abuse)
My first time seeing someone mentions gunslinger girl anime 👍👍
i love the music theme 😂, do u have a link for midori ?
#10 bro
This is a full on test of courage!
