That picture of Geraldine actually moved me to tears. Just by that smile it seems like she was such a wonderful person who didn’t deserve to go out the way she did.
I was just about to comment something was truly shaken inside of me when I saw that picture of her. How terribly sad she didn’t maybe try exploring a lil bit to get back on the trail
@@felinemocha1995 i have always been taught, as soon as you realize you are lost, stay where you are, if you try to find your way back, you could go even further away, and if people are looking for you, you could move to where they have already searched (and probably wont look there again). I feel awful for her situation, but do wonder if she hadn't gone searching for cell phone reception she may have been close enough to the trail to be found alive.
I love how Geraldine wasn’t upset or angry about her situation. She did her best, wrote to loved ones & came to terms with what was going on. Bless her
Dang man, Geraldine did everything right. Stayed where she was the whole time to keep herself as close to the trail as possible, put up a reflective banner, made a smoke signal. Saved her phones battery. She really was a smart, capable lady and she did indeed leave us with absolute grace.
I've watched so many of these "photos with disturbing backstories" videos, but Geraldine's story has been the only one that actually made my chest hurt. The way she was so positive and even at the end how she accepted her fate, and the photo of her smiling so brightly. It just makes my heart ache
I agree. The fact that she was only a couple miles away from the trail makes it that much sadder. I'm glad that she at least went out positive and accepting, and that her wish was honored at the end of the day.
Absolutely seeing her smile would brighten your day and you would have to stop and thank her and ask if she would take a photo. I hope her passing was as peaceful as it could be for her i hope that she was able to pass without to much discomfort.
@Youkandme Hikers I wish she hadn't given up so easily . The Appalachian trail is unforgiving but she was so close to the trail .I'm 61 and still section hike as I live near Springer Mtn ,but I am so prepared for anything, it would puzzle my family if I ended up like this poor lady. RIP Inchworm .
I remember watching a TV special about the Grizzly Man when I was a kid. It is so tragic, but it also absolutely STUNS me that they would be SO foolish as to not have a single way to defend themselves. No matter how much you love wild animals and want to protect them.. they do NOT love you. It was hubris of the highest degree to not have a healthy fear of those giant creatures. They deserve conservation but protect yourself or pay the price... which they obviously did.
I completely agree no offense but how can someone be that stupid and think that Grizzly Bears see you as their own and love you?! I hate to sound mean but it's true. Even experts and trainers are always extremely cautious and careful and sometimes even they won't go into certain areas. And this guy just dragged his poor girlfriend here and she also sadly paid the price. I can't stand people like him who disrespect wildlife and nature.
The only thing is he didn't do anything to help them. He was just in their way doing the exact thing he would get mad at others for doing. He was a narcissistic who thought he had some gift to become a bear
@@colbypatterson8273He did far worse than not help them. He claimed to love the bears more than anything and said he would die for them. Well, yes, he died, but this guy who “loved“ them so much got two of those magnificent bears killed by his actions. THAT is the real tragedy.
@@moonspun4evrFor a bear a human is kind of a wild little piggy. There is no point in killing it if you have enough food. And it can be amusing to have one around. He stayed long enough that he met a hungry bear who didn't know him and didn't care.
The photo of the 1st woman made tear up a bit. Such a beautiful smile. She looked like a great person and she had to go through all that horror. Alone.
@@geraldinegoe2516 that's what we all think but it's so easy to get lost in a scenery where everything looks the same. A compass can work wonders I think.
@@jackye611 I agree completely. I did a lot of hiking as a teen in the Pacific NW (OR & WA) all in areas where several serial killers & Sasquatch were active. I was incredibly blessed. So many of the mountains are indistinguishable from each other & all the little creeks are the same! I was always in groups or with my father. I am 70 so it was a long time ago.
@@geraldinegoe2516 What I'm wondering is why the f@#$ she didn't have an EXTERNAL GPS on her! I mean, you're embarking on a 1000-mile hike. Why wouldn't you invest
I was apart of the search and rescue teams that hit the mountains in Maine to look for Geraldine Largay. She was in a very dense, thick woods part of Maine, we were doing grid searches and we would line up and trek up and down the mountain, hollering for her and looking for clues, and report back to the Maine Warden Service. The woods were so thick in spots, you couldn't see other searchers 10 feet from you on either side. We worked our butts off trying to find this lady, and I can promise you it was a quiet trip out of the woods for everyone involved, knowing she was still out there somewhere. It was a good feeling hearing her body was eventually recovered. As someone born and raised in Maine, please if you go hiking do not go off trail, Maine woods are to be respected cause things can get ugly really fast.
I went off path to look at an outhouse I found behind a place I just moved into deep in the bush and it took me 4 hrs to find my way back. 20 steps into the forest I turned around and went shit and lost my direction. Will never play with the forest again.
It reminds me of a story from Stephen King, "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon", about a little girl, hiking with her family in Maine's forest, who is fed up by their constant bickering and decides to take a few steps back so she won't hear them anymore. After a while she realises she is too far away and try to take a shortcut to rejoin them, and end up lost in the woods. As a French, it's pretty incredible, because there's no forest big enough to be completly lost. Even the biggest, you don't really have to go far to find a road or a trail. But after reading the book, I went to google earth to watch Maine's forests from there, and I was totally amazed by the size and the density of them. You feel really small looking at them, and it must be really easy to get lost there.
@@LynMa80 I know France doesn't have these enormous forests, but (as a rock climber) I've always been completely amazed by Fontainebleau and its maze of rocks. I can see easily getting lost in there, given the lack of visibility the boulders create.
He actually had love relationships with some of the bears there are videos of him swimming and playing with the bears. At least he died doing what he loved.
@@mojosodope45 She actually did all the things you're supposed to do when you're lost: stay put, set up a shelter, hang something reflective, start a fire to attract attention, etc. It's just that none of the searchers came close to her, despite the fact that she was only a mile from the trail. As the days went by, she ran out of food and water and eventually starved to death. This probably happens more than we think. It's easy to lose your bearings in the woods. Learning to use a compass is a good idea if you go hiking a lot.
@@hannibalbarca1147 Seriously….? WTF it’s not their fault she died….it’s her own fault for going hiking ALONE and then wandering off the damn trail SMH 🤦🏼♂️ People always blame somebody else instead of the person responsible….she killed herself, plain and simple….
@@philiptucker7590 Exonerating the police and rangers for giving up a search when she was very much still alive is horrid. She was a lady who didn't think this would happen, she had 200 something miles left to go after all. I think that the blame definitely lies in the hands of those who just said "Welp we tried, we give up". Funny how we really can put value on a human life when it comes to "resources and time spent". But she does serve as a reminder to never go alone. That message should be made very clear.
@@philiptucker7590 Yeaaa thats not how this works. Yes she was irresponsible to continue alone on a mountain pass like that, but to say that the police and recuers had *no* hand in her death for giving up so quickly, when she still could have been and **was** very much alive, is ludicrous, insensitive, and downright ignorant.
I don't understand how some random forester was able to stumble across Geraldine's camp but no one from the rescue team was able to. Especially since she wasn't that far off from the trail. That is so absolutely tragic.
@Big Daddy I agree! I don't just get sitting in the same place for that long and being only a mile from help. That's what's so sad to me. If she'd kept putting one foot in front of the other, maybe she would have been found.
@@creativerock1646 Ohh, I didn't know that. It seems like she should have had or seen a map of the Appalachian trail though. It has civilisation on either side of it, not like somewhere in Alaska.
Geraldine- wow, what grace, what dignity. The fact she could stay so positive even lost in the woods and hearing all the sounds at night and alone is a testament to her bravery and courage. Her last letter to whoever would find her was moving. Made me tear up a little. It so hard to understand how someone can only be a mile or so from trail yet it took two years to find her. Just bizarre. Thanks @MrBallen for another great installment in this series!!!

Then again since buying mine It has preloaded topographical maps in it so I know where I'm at. My old paper topographical maps and compass are now a backup.
Timothy Treadwill's story has haunted me for years. There's a level of narcissism that exists with people like him who think they're somehow special when it comes to wild animals. It almost always ends in someone being maimed or killed.
This guy reminds me of fake martial artists when they get a dose of exposing reality. Only bears don't hold back when they kick your ass. Idiocy can get you killed

The over-confidence that some people have when it comes to being around wild animals is really perplexing to me. And then to bring his girlfriend into his delusional world is such a shame. They are friggin' grizzly bears!!!

They just got used to him being around and ignored him as a non threat. But, bring in a bear who is not local to the area who isn't used to him being around, and you can understand how different that would be. I’m just happy to hear that someone eventually found Geraldine. Hurts that it took 2 years to do it but her story and her infectious smile deserves to be shared ❤

I am now an avid fan of the strange, dark, and mysterious even though I'm a scaredy cat!! Remember folks, trust your gut feelings, don't hang out with stupid friends, don't go into the forest alone. Thanks Mr.Ballen!
So many times on this channel you hear about someone dying because they did everything wrong or did something stupid, which is why it hurts to hear Geraldine's story. She wasn't being needlessly reckless. She did everything right after realizing she'd made a mistake. Her husband immediately contacted the authorities. A search party was organized and everything. She SHOULD have been rescued and laughed about this story to her family and friends.
She did do the right thing. Under those circumstances it is prudent to tie flags, with notes, across a wide area to guide any potential rescuers to your location.
@@jamesyoung187 thats good to know, I wouldn't have thought of that especially if I start to panic. I've gotten lost in a small patch of woods just trying to evade insects, so I don't think I would've fared much better in her situation.
I don't actually think she did the right thing, in a forest as dense as that one she should've started walking at some point and not just stayed at that one campsite. She wasn't found until after 2 years which means she was in a very hidden place! She possibly could've survived had she tried to find civilization. Plus it's never a good idea to hike alone especially if you're not an expert which she wasn't so I wouldn't say she did everything right, as sad as this death is it could've been avoided unfortunately
I like how Timothy called the bear a “ it” when he was being eaten alive by one. Before that he was treating them like they weren’t wild animals running off of instinct.
Well he said that's how he wanted to die so he got his wish. Not really fair to make that decision for Amie though. Even though on the other hand, she kinda did it to herself since she very easily could have just flew back home without him the minute he started talking about going back into the Maze without protection when the Grizzlies are at their meanest and hungriest. I'd have been like, *"aight, imma head out".*
Them being wild animals doesnt mean they should be described with the neuter gender. The real problem here is how messed someone must be to like a detail of two people being viciously killed, even though they are to blame for their stupidity, he with his arrogant wishful thinking of being the bestest grizzly bear expert (I am shocked he was never attacked when playing with the kids), and she for doing something she was terrified of for no valid reason.
@@СавинШайринThe best guess for why he was never attacked is probably the argument someone raised in Herzog's documentary, which is that he simply confused the bears that much; their instincts tell them how to respond if he runs or fights back, but they have no idea what to do when they put on a threat display and this bellend just sits there jabbering at them in baby talk. It kept him safe until he ran into a bear whose desperation and hunger drowned out that confusion.
Considering how the family went out of their way to bury and hide that audio and you still somehow have a profound recollection of it I'd say you're more a cold blooded psychopath than any wild animal

@@metalmike570 So let me get this straight. Your argument is that, because some prisoners turn to God during their sentences, God's wrath is the only repercussion for doing bad things? You do realize that doesn't make sense? Just because God is a motivator for some people doesn't mean he is the only motivator. A conscience, for one, is a repercussion, as is prison, a fine, getting hurt or killed, losing a body part; all of those are pretty serious consequences that could dissuade someone from doing things.

It isn't enough - obviously to change a criminal most of them would say "I ain't scared" or "I don't care"; I think it's where they came from that pushed them into crime. God has heart for them and some do come a long way from where they were, I've seen a lot of prison documentaries here. The system is very cruel it's almost impossible for them to get back into the civilian system. Most will return to prison and many will grow old there and pass away.

Pretty much. Same goes for Geraldine. For those of you who enjoy nature, myself included. You need to understand that nature is not sentient. It doesn't care for you. If you're hiking a 1600 mile trail. Be prepared. Be ready to take care of yourself. In every regard. You're exposing yourself to something that is for lack of a better word. A dog eat dog world. Have the tools and skills to care for yourself.

The first story was so heartbreaking, Geraldine was so positive about her situation, she wasn't panicked or anything instead she accepted her fate, when I saw her picture I couldn't stop my tears she was so happy
I thought that was so cute at the end! Little Henry is so lucky to have the best story teller Mr Ballen as his dad. I'm sure Henry's stories will be a lot less deep, dark and mysterious though lol (;
I find it astronomically unlikely that the therapist’s assistant overheard the murder confession. It’s much more likely that the therapist got around professional restrictions by telling the assistant, and the two concocted the overhearing story.
the real story is the therapist was recording their sessions and asked his assistant to stay outside to make sure nothing crazy happened but she claimed he was abusive so as a “fuck you” she went to the police with what she knew.
It's a concept that allows the therapist to not have to testify if they don't want to. Akin to pleading the fifth. It's not a law. It's a huge grey area. If you know someone killed someone it's perfectly fine and a basic human duty to tell someone. It's why they added a whole, "hurt yourself or someone else" umbrella cause. Because hiding behind a "professional courtesy" basically makes you part of the murder if you don't tell someone.
I thought the same thing instantly, glad to know there are some people in here with an at least, normal level of not only common sense, but also deductive reasoning. I don't think anyone should go hiking alone. Im a very independent person and I enjoy doing activities alone just as much as with friends but there are some things you just SHOULDN'T do alone.
I understand wanting solitude, however I am in agreement, there are just somethings you shouldn't try doing alone, and if you are with someone who has the experience and for whatever reason they must leave, then you should leave together, very sad and heartbreaking story!
I walk the trails around my house, and they are all close to a road and I have great cell reception on all of them….. that being said there are bears and coyotes and I think mountain lions, also rattle snakes. I keep my phone on me, and a loud boat horn h the type that is pressurized air in a can ) because the horn will scare coyotes….. Bears are something else. You do not want to scare a bear or scream or be loud. Anyway, as I walk I send my mom pics and texts of where I am….. letting her know how much longer I will be and my location every so often. If I am only gone 30 minutes it’s usually just one text saying which trail and a picture, but if it’s an hour it’s at least two. anyway these are the precautions I take, and I am not trying anything even close to what this 70 plus year old lady was attempting!!!! It’s crazy….. Her friend should have made her leave with her, instead of letting her go on alone!!!!
I walked the entire AT alone at 22yrs old in '03. It was magical. No phone but I did have an emergency radio that works ANYWHERE AND there's SO many towns within 10miles of the trail in most areas. I hiked to a McDonald's atleast 3 times (being tired of dehydrated foods) and post offices 6 times to mail dirty clothes and pick up supplies that were planned and mailed by a specific date(planning!) Also, there are things called maps that adults used to use... The trail blazes(markers) are there for a reason. Follow them. Understand each section of the trail before hiking it. I studied the next 20 miles every time I set up camp for the evening. The preparation to hike the AT took almost as long as hiking the almost 2200 miles. It took from April to October going from Ga(my home) to Maine. I feel bad for her BUT she was setup to fail both mentally and physically.

Today is 7/4/22 and I want to wish him, his family (cute baby), and everyone else a very Happy Birthday America.
Bullshit! Bears are not robots, they are induviduals like you and me. It is rather obvious that the bears he had known for a long time, and gotten to know during a time when he was much less arrogant than when he died, knew who he was and did indeed accept him. If you can cuddle a bearcub without the mom hoing full on Revanant on your arse, you are indeed doibg something right. Shit went wrong when he stopped thinking realistically. As you clearly heard in the story, he broke away from his usual routine when he was attacked. He stayed longer than usual, he brought along another human that the bears did not know, and he approached a bear that was known to be aggressive and unpredictable. He did one stupid thing after another, and that lead to his downfall. If he had just stayed realistic, he could have been alive now.

Bahahhha max you silly! The guy would’ve been eaten earlier if it was t the salmon run when he was hanging with the bears. They basically saved the guy fir a snack because they had a bounty of salmon with an extremely high fat content to eat
Our English teacher forced us to watch Grizzly Man in high school. I was one of the few that didn’t find anything heroic or beautiful about his mission. Like no, he was an idiot
in my opinion what he did wasn't so stupid that was his job but he was an fucking idiot because he put his girlfriend in danger with himself and it end up her be eaten alive by a bear
The bear that got Timothy was an older one that couldn’t compete for food with the stronger bears. My ex-husband worked around there before this happened and told me about Timothy. He was saying that he looked at himself as a protector of the bears and any hunting party that would land on the island Tim would sabotage their gear when they were away from the camp. There was a lot of contention. At least he died a death in the place he loved most. My ex also said there are cannibal bears that don’t hibernate but use the opportunity to hunt bears that are hibernating in their den. Nature is intense.
I watched a short documentary about this (don't remember the name) but the tape was given to family and a director requested to listen to the tape. The family allowed it, and as soon as he finished listening to it, he took his headphones off and told her to NEVER let ANYONE listen to this again. He even advised destroying the tape. The family I believe ultimately still have the tape, but it is locked away somewhere.

The biggest tragedy of the Tim Treadwell story was Ami's death. She was afraid of bears and he knew it yet he put her in the most dangerous place at the most dangerous time of the year because he wanted to see the bears. That was also supposed to be her last time there because she was planning on leaving him
Although I agree, Amy could have saved herself by not flying out there. She clearly made the decision to join him, regardless of what influence he had on her. She knew what she was getting into, lets be honest. Sad story all around

Thank you for your service and thank you for being such a cool dude who has truly entertained me for so many hours already, the support is earned. We all love you dude keep it up!
I agree. I find it very difficult to muster up much sympathy for someone who thought that wild grizzly bears would just take him into their food, like he was that special. Then he brings his girlfriend there, right in the middle of them, when they're trying to eat as much as they can, and he gets them both killed in one of the most horrific ways I can imagine. I can't imagine the pain this put both their families thru, but it was ultimately their faults. If you play on the highway, you shouldn't be surprised when you get hit by a truck. This truck just happened to be furry.
I remember the old, Grizzly Man documentary on him when it came out. I watched it, and as much as it tried to paint him as a sympathetic environmentalist with a big heart. He was just a fool who needlessly took risk with his safety, his girlfriends safety and to be honest, the bears safety.
The videos that are of one single story are really good, I agree. I think he is just trying to get an idea of what type of videos get the most views. Also, I'd be willing to bet, his longer videos average less view time. A 15 minute video about one story, might average 6 or 7 minutes per view. People nowadays seem to have a short attention span. If he does a 15 minute video with 3 stories, he is more likely to get people to stay and watch longer than 6 or 7 minutes, like the other type of video. This day and age, everybody wants instant satisfaction. But I definitely agree with you bro...the longer stories are my favorite too.
I totally agree with you about this and I hope that he goes back to the loner stories soon because it's been like two weeks of these types of videos and I miss the older longer more into detail videos.
The best storyteller ever! I’ve watched I think almost all. Sometimes I repeats it lol. I can watch and listen all day. Thank you MrBallen you‘re the best!!!
He was mentally I'll and lost the part for the bartender on cheers which caused him to have a breakdown. He was an addict (I believe alcohol) and whenever he went to be with the bears he'd get clean and enjoy life. So he wasn't so much stupid. Just crazy
I just caught the 'Bonus Footage' at the very end ...I must've missed that on my first watch 4yrs ago. Henry was just a little baby! So sweet to get to see that. Thanks for sharing the bonus, such sweet moments w/ your fam!
Yeah he was an idiot and he didn't take any precautions at all. His idiocy and arrogance got 3 bears killed when the park rangers went to recover their bodies.
Even if the psychiatrist’s assistant wouldn’t had overheard the confession, the therapist by law has to notify any criminal offense. There’s no such thing as “nothing leaves the room”
Facts therapist can only tell information if it involves it’s harming others or yourself so sayin the assistant over heard is unnecessary somewhat ignorant 😂🤦🏽♀️
I'm not a psychologist or anything but from what I understand about the law and from seeing a few professionals myself, they're not actually allowed to disclose information regarding a crime that has already been committed, rather if you tell them that you're going to hurt yourself or someone else, then they're required to intervene before it happens
Treadwell was such an incredibly arrogant fool. He not only threw his own life away, he dragged an innocent woman into a hideous death with him. He sank deeper and deeper into a fairy tale fantasy, coming to believe he was some kind of "protector" for wild animals that were doing just fine without him. Seriously. There is more to the story than what is covered here, such as footage he made while lurking feet away from various bears, everything from cringe-worthy cooing over imaginary "friendships" with these animals to him "narrating" a show that didn't exist but he apparently imagined would someday. What he did had all the sanity of juggling live hand grenades.
We all knew the day would come that Treadwell would be killed by a bear (extra sad with Amy losing her life as well). Like McCandless, the men came up here (Alaska) as a way to deal with their mental illness. As stupid as they were for thinking they could live the way they did, it’s still a tragic way to die. My heart goes out to the friends and family they left behind.
while it was very risky and dangerous indeed, to his credit, the bear that killed them was a total newcomer to the area that he had never seen before, an old bear that would have been far more of an aggressive opportunist due to its declining health. So while it may well have been the case that Timothy could indeed trust the bears he had been interacting with, because they saw him neither as a threat nor a suitable meal, it was sadly not a trust that could be extrended to all bears. This is the case with all animals, of course, and something that animal lovers must always keep in mind.
He forgot that you have to respect wild animals. They don’t play by the same rules as humans. I love wild animals. But I have enough respect for them to let them alone! You can’t make friends with a bear. That’s all there is to it.
Love the bonus footage. I know its a year later but congratulations to you &your family Mr. Ballen. I truly enjoy your content and appreciate the time and effort your team puts into these videos. You have made my work day so much more enjoyable
I remember seeing treadwell’s story on the news, he literally was eaten alive. I’m so terrified of bears. They hold you down and eat you from your legs up ripping your flesh off first before muscle tissue. You will be alive for a good 10 to 15 min. Feeling all of it if you don’t pass out first. That’s why I carry a .44 magnum when I’m Flyfishing up here in Alaska. If I can’t kill the bear I save one round for myself.

I agree. The fact that she was only a couple miles away from the trail makes it that much sadder. I'm glad that she at least went out positive and accepting, and that her wish was honored at the end of the day.

I like how Timothy called the bear a “ it” when he was being eaten alive by one. Before that he was treating them like they weren’t wild animals running off of instinct.
Well he said that's how he wanted to die so he got his wish. Not really fair to make that decision for Amie though.

The system is very cruel it's almost impossible for them to get back into the civilian system. Most will return to prison and many will grow old there and pass away.
“The therapist assistant.” Lol we all know that therapist got with her assistant and told her what she knew and asked her to tell police that she overheard it lol.
The assitent was actually the therapist mistress and he asked her to listen in case sth would happen to him/would be threaten. But later on she got mad on him because he didn't want to leave his wife so she went to the police to say it and ruined his career. There was a lot not said about this case in the video. Exactly. He said that Grizzly Man felt an emotional connection to the bears. The only emotional connection the bears felt towards him was hunger.
What about that over told 3rd story....man o man, that fella did all he could possibly do to put himself on the menu. Not going as far as getting butt azz naked and rubbing his entire body in a thick coat of molasses and honey....😮
I don't think anyone should go hiking alone. Im a very independent person and I enjoy doing activities alone just as much as with friends but there are some things you just SHOULDN'T do alone.
I agree. Hiking alone is always a recipe for disaster.
Especially if they are hundred years old
I understand wanting solitude, however I am in agreement, there are just somethings you shouldn't try doing alone, and if you are with someone who has the experience and for whatever reason they must leave, then you should leave together, very sad and heartbreaking story!
Geraldine’s story was so sad but i’m so glad that they were able to recover the journal for her husband and their kid. May she rest in peace ❤️
It’s so tragic she had amazing composure for someone in that type of situation to write out a letter knowing what would happen if she wasn’t found .When I saw the picture all the news reports from the search came flooding back .The way everyone spoke about her was beautiful
@@livvymarie1148 tbh she kinda was hoping for the situation as it was her time to kick the bucket if she was willing to give up that easily. Lady should’ve set camp on the trail itself instead of going three miles off the trail if she believed she was that lost…..

Today is 7/4/22 and I want to wish him, his family (cute baby), and everyone else a very Happy Birthday America.
Word of advise: You are NEVER a bears friend, let alone a Grizzly. They are either not hungry, or not annoyed enough to kill you.
@@maximillian1109 you seem pretty sure of yourself. Do you own a bear, and or hang out with bears on a regular basis? Probly not right? And why is that? Because they are an aggressive powerful WILD ANIMAL. You are just biding time being around them. Dude got killed because he's an idiot.

At least he died being eaten alive yeah I don't think he ever wanted that as stupid as he was thats a horrible way to go
I watched a short documentary about this (don't remember the name) but the tape was given to family and a director requested to listen to the tape. The family allowed it, and as soon as he finished listening to it, he took his headphones off and told her to NEVER let ANYONE listen to this again. He even advised destroying the tape. The family I believe ultimately still have the tape, but it is locked away somewhere.
It’s “Grizzly Man”

The biggest tragedy of the Tim Treadwell story was Ami's death. She was afraid of bears and he knew it yet he put her in the most dangerous place at the most dangerous time of the year because he wanted to see the bears. That was also supposed to be her last time there because she was planning on leaving him
Hmmmm... Now THAT makes his intents on going there in the first place during "aggressive" season even _more_ suspect.
Something tells me her death was part of Treadwell's plan, I'm sure he knew she was going to leave.
she was fully capable of making decisions. She chose to be there even thought she felt fear. She is responsible for her own death.
Although I agree, Amy could have saved herself by not flying out there. She clearly made the decision to join him, regardless of what influence he had on her. She knew what she was getting into, lets be honest. Sad story all around
That is the worst part of it. If I were getting ready to leave, I would have stayed home. Thanks for the extra info.
Also that bonus footage made my heart just swell so much. The way you wiped your face (this is unreal) and the look of love you gave them.. ive been subscirbed for abt 3 or 4 months i think but i already fookn love you. Thank you for your service and thank you for being such a cool dude who has truly entertained me for so many hours already, the support is earned. We all love you dude keep it up!
The documentary on the Grizzly Man was pretty sad. His heart may have been in the right place but he was extremely foolish.
A ranger at Yellowstone once told me, “National Parks aren’t dangerous, it’s the idiots who die there that are.”
He was arrogant. I have no sympathy for him.

I remember the old, Grizzly Man documentary on him when it came out. I watched it, and as much as it tried to paint him as a sympathetic environmentalist with a big heart. He was just a fool who needlessly took risk with his safety, his girlfriends safety and to be honest, the bears safety.

I miss the longer creepy stories, just my opinion. I'll watch it all regardless.

Exactly. I've been to enough of them to know!! Haha 🤪
I'm not a psychologist or anything but from what I understand about the law and from seeing a few professionals myself, they're not actually allowed to disclose information regarding a crime that has already been committed, rather if you tell them that you're going to hurt yourself or someone else, then they're required to intervene before it happens

The quote "Walls have ears" Exist.... 🤷♂️
I love how Mr ballen speaks on the victims or ppl involved. So respectful. Another reason I continue to watch
I wish he would be disrespectful just once to jazz it up hehe
I have a special relationship with stray cats... but I'm also aware that they can fuck me up lol.
