What an adorable and extremely useful studio space! The large, countertop ironing surface is genius! How nice to have such happy, colorful vintage items all around to keep things cheerful! Way to go!
Wish my sewing room was this beautiful. And have to say I'm in love with the bake sale range of fabric on your table. Actually love all the fabrics you use
I am in LOVE with your sewing space!! I have just GOT to steal your idea for using the toy cash register and stove/oven for your pin cushions and pins!!! How clever!! Thank you so much for sharing your space with us!
IT's wonderful Lori's talent and the spectacular vintage colección.! So organazed an lovely sowing room. May God give you health and life to enjoy and teach us, all your excellet proyects.. Regards Lori.!
Lori, you are a girl after my own heart! Of course I am about 40 years older than you! I love your studio! Glad you got started young. Enjoy it all, Girl, you deserve it.
Lovely room I love it, your pincushion, ornaments, and antiques, all beautifully organized. You do have a great collection of supplies but the way you keep them is amazing. Keep t up and thank you for sharing your time and knowledge. Blessings
Thank you Lori you are so organized and I loved the ironing space you've made, I'm going to use that idea. Also I like the baskets behind you too for scraps. Great video it gives me inspiration to vamp up my quilting area.
I have to say when I came across this video I was super excited to hear Lori talk about her space! Only to realize that the interviewer was doing most of the talking, and interrupting Lori, and the camera was awful, etc etc … I expected a better video from such a prominent shop! Love love LOVE 💕 Lori’s designs, and I buy from this store often , but UGH 😩 Please, as someone else said, get more professional with your videos. THAT is how people are finding designers, etc these days. Absolutely adorable space though.
Hello Pele! Thanks for the feedback. This video is from 2013 and we have certainly grown in our video quality since then! You can check out our more recent videos here: th-cam.com/users/FatQuarterShopTX
she said she used 54 inch apulistry fabric so I figure that the table top is 50 inches wide and if I am looking right it is square or maby 60 inches from the side wall out. I love it and I am going to try to do something like it in my 12 x 12 sewing room.
This nice lady attempting to do the interview really needs to be off camera and let Lori lead us around the room. Interviewers shut up when the guest speaks, not keep running inane comments going. Good grief. And honestly, Lori Holt is a top fabric designer. So she doesn’t need to “shop for fabric” that much-she uses her OWN! Duh! At some point, Fat Quarter Shop needs to decide that they’re going to start doing professional videos if they want to increase their audience and Likes. The camera work is horrendous in many videos, like the one where Lori shows how to make her great design boards, and the interviewer keeps looking back at the camera person who keeps jerking the camera around, while the edits in that video were done by a 6 year old. Finally, the sound quality is a disaster. Even with my high quality headphones turned up I can barely hear some of what is said, and the sound only comes out of one side..? I point this flaws out because they are consistent throughout many of Fat Quarter Shop’s videos. What a mess.
I must say I have the same impression of the interviewers and the sound quality and that it only comes out of one side, and I have quality headphones. But, aside from that, I love Lori Holt's designs, fabric, notions, etc. so I do watch to learn anything Lori shares. She is a phenomenal designer and very humble and kind in her presentations.
Just came across this video and thought to myself “I wish the interviewer would shut up so we can hear Lori speak!” … then I saw what you and the others here in this thread wrote and can’t agree more! So sad that they can’t do better than this for such a wonderful designer. 🤦♀️
I love Lori's studio! Not only is it well organized but it seems like such a pleasant place to be. Great ideas!

Love seeing Lori and her room. Couldn’t here the lady with the questions, but that was ok. She was more in the way anyway
Love this room
That sewing machine looked like the one I have. A Bernini 1230, which has been my workhorse for over 20 years, with no problems!
Love it. Love organization too. I think we must be kindred spirits
I love your design studio
I'd love to know where Lori found those adorable aprons for those soda bottles!

I have watched this video a few times since it came out, and I still can't figure out the overall dimensions of the room. What size is the studio?
What brand of iron with the thumb rest are you using?
Hello Karen! That is a vintage iron that Lori Holt collected.

Must agree with the two replies.
