Aside from watching them on TNA, they used to come around to steal shows at a Detroit/Windsor promotion called Border City Wrestling. I legitimately never saw a duo so quick, technical, and cohesive at the time. It hard to believe that they began as singles stars! These two were a match made in heaven. 👉🖐

I'm floored that Alex Shelley is the Impact world champion. I remember Paparrazi Productions being popular on the wrestling message boards I frequented. Glad that he and Saban eventually got singles gold. They were entertaining.
When they started out they were called the murder city machine guns, and were paired as they were friends and in a band together. Definitely the greatest tag team of TNA/Impacts duration.
So glad that their second run has been way more successful. Two more tag title runs, Sabin won another X-Division title and Shelley currently holds the World title.
In hindsight, I got into MCMG at the perfect time. I was 15 and it was 2008, so their out-of-ring antics resonated with me. I'd put them as number 1 on my favorite TNA tag teams, just a bit above Beer Money.
They tried pushing the Guns in late 07 and early 08, in a 6 man tag at the Against All Odds ppv both guys were told to "blade" and both guys refused which saw them get reduced TV time and put on a losing streak after. In other words the Guns got punished for refusing to self mutilate. Pathetic on TNA's part.
I remember this and Bully Ray had cut a promo during the feud where he buried Shelley and Sabin, but put Jay Lethal over because of them not wanting to blade. Apparently Sabin was the first to decline, then Shelley came behind him to decline.
when I was a kid I was equally into WWE and TNA, but oh my god, The Guns were ridiculously over and super ahead of their time. They are definitely pioneers of cruiserweight tag team wrestling. I have no idea how they never got to have more than one tag title run. Maybe Team 3D and Chavo and Hernandez kept the belts hostage?
That 5 match series with the guns and beer money was probably some of the best tag team wrestling I’ve ever seen, it’s such a shame they didn’t use the guns like they should have

Great look at these guys and agreed how TNA shockingly refused to give the best team around at the time the long reign they deserved. They should have had four or five reigns or at least a couple of very long ones when so many undeserving guys got the belts. Just sums up TNA in many ways.
It seems like any wrestling company has no idea what to do with someone(s) that get themselves over without help from the back. They burry them or misuse them 98% of the time.

You have to give it to Nash. He's usually only about making money, but he really believed in them, and did everything he could to get them pushes. Without him they probably would have never got anything good in TNA

The main issue with MCMG was Chris Sabin missed 2 years. He tore his acl, missed a year, and then tore it again his first match back. It's really sad but, when he came back at least he got a singles push and was the champ. But yeah. MCMG is the team that the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega took everything from. Your average wrestling fan probably won't realize it either. But they were 2 of the most innovating wrestlers of all time!

😂😂😂😂 TNA is an excellent example of why wrestlers especially ex wwe famous wrestlers should never be allowed into the booking room. It was Hulk Hogan Bash at The Beach all over again times a 100. The whole main event mafia storyline was "we're more famous ex wwe B list celebrities so we have a monopoly over the main event and world championship booking". Guys like Hogan,Angle,Steiner and the others completely buried the younger guys. Meanwhile the guys who were the workhorses like AJ Styles,Samoa Joe,Christopher Daniels,Motorcity Machine Guns,Generation ME(Young bucks 😂😂) and Frankie Kazarian were stuck in the under card or midcard with the X division title to fight over. It essentially came down to guys like Hogan again flexing their egos and burying young guys to make themselves look good.
Motor City Machine guns have got to be my favourite in ring tag team of all team everything they did was so fluid, quick and looked amazing. Thinking back on just how amazing the tag division was in TNA back then having Beer Money, Team 3D, LAX and MCMG all in the same company at the same time was amazing and i wish we got more of those 4 teams battling it out to be the best over the Main event mafia stuff because as entertaining as Booker, Steiner and Nash are they just couldn't go in the ring so all they had in ring wise was Kurt and sting. Feels like thats the tale of TNA though all the talent in the world wasted to push established ex wwe guys.

At the time seeing MCMG as being 12 at the time and realizing the state of wresting at the time was changing made me realize how underrated MCMG were more on a worldwide scale at the time with TNA being the lower company
I think they also hold the record for being one of, if not the only group to ever kick out of the 3D, the move was protected that much. They were a tag team that definitely should've won sooner and I do wish they had gone to WWE. The tag division with them in it could've been amazing.

The Guns were one of the highlights of me watching TNA when I was younger, anytime I saw Shelley or Sabin on TNA I would get excited cause I knew I was in for a classic, I will always appreciate them. Hell, when I was younger I had the TNA game on my DS and I would only use Shelly or Sabin caused I was so fond of them

The Guns were one of the highlights of me watching TNA when I was younger, anytime I saw Shelley or Sabin on TNA I would get excited cause I knew I was in for a classic, I will always appreciate them. Hell, when I was younger I had the TNA game on my DS and I would only use Shelly or Sabin caused I was so fond of them
