They could have started the game at the end of the movie, with you fighting rhino as the tutorial, and as it's rhinos first time in the suit, you beat him easily, but he returns later in the game as an actual boss.
And since it's after the movie, the ghost of Gwen can appear randomly to haunt Peter, like Joker in Arkham Knight or voice and hallucinations like in fury road or the mad max game.

Why is it that no Spiderman game can surpass a PS2 game from A DECADE AGO?! Is it really that hard to make a good Spiderman game? Just take what Spiderman 2 did right and build on it! It's not rocket science, people...

There are many Spider-man games that are better than Spider-man 2. I can show you 4 Spidey games that surpassed Spider-man 2: Web of Shadows, Shattered Dimensions, Ultimate Spider-man and Edge of Time. 2 of the previous Spider-man games were better than Spider-man 2: Spider-man the movie and Spider-man (PS1 and N64).

I'm very surprised someone at Beenox remembered such a forgettable thing. Kind of wondering why they didn't include Ricochet, Dusk and Prodigy as alt costumes as well.
ANYWAY, I'll stick with Spiderman on the PS1/N64. Best Spidey game we're gonna get unless Rocksteady takes a shot at it, I'm afraid.

I personally think that the studio that gives the license should have more control. There's no way that some of the film tie-ins released today would be given the all clear if the studios were given a vito to the production of these games. Most of them are absolutely atrocious.

Perhaps. I noticed a similar pattern in something else, though I don't recall what. It was a series where they seemed to alternate between caring about what happens because the last one was poorly received and being complacent because the next was well received. They never learn from their mistakes. I can't for the life of me remember what they were, but it was a series of films. It's ongoing, with at least four already out.

Joe, I just have one thing to say: the flashing incoming damage signal makes more sense for Spider-Man than it ever did for Batman because Spidey has a 6th sense specifically for that purpose. If you ask me, Rocksteady studios kind of took the idea from Spider-Man first and tweaked it ever so slightly by saying "Batman is a master martial artist, so he can somehow sense incoming attacks he can't see".
while there is a somewhat believable truth to that (Batman's battle senses) it does seem like a Spidey Sense ripoff which makes it even worse when it seems like a batman ripoff

"Web slinging is the best it's ever been".... No no no... Spiderman 2's web swinging was the best it's ever been. Actually swinging your webs on to objects rather than it just being up... Hell even the FOV was better, you were zoomed out a bit more so you can actually see the whole character and any enemies around you.

18:42 Congrats, Joe...You got the point! The Hornet was one of four alternate identities Spidey operated under in the storyline 'Identity Crisis' back in '98. The idea was that Norman Osborn and Trapster framed Spider-Man for murder, and so the police put a decent bounty on the Web-head, to the point where even normal people would try to gun him down on sight. So while he tried to find out what was going on, get it dealt with, and still be a hero, he created a number of alternate alter-egos: The Hornet and Prodigy acted like heroes, while two others of his, Ricochet and Dusk, pretended to be criminals so he could get an ear in on the criminal underworld.
tl;dr It's not supposed to look like Spider-Man, because Spidey used the alias when he was framed for murder.
I'm surprised to see a nod to the Identity Crisis/Slingers. I really liked the Identity Crisis storyline (probably the best Spidey story arc of the 90s), but it seems Marvel hasn't done anything interesting with the Slingers recently. Although a Spider-Man video game based on the Identity Crisis storyline where each identity has a new play style.... hmm, I'd buy that.

These reviews take a lot of time to set-up, shoot and edit. Unless he works like a drone and does nothing else, there is no way he can push that many reviews out. And what is the point of him reviewing games that have already established themselves as great games? Between release and the review coming out, most people would have snagged it up. I would rather he stick to games which people hope and wish were good games to dissuade people from buying/not buying them.
Look at his more recent reviews. ESO, MGS, Titanfall, South Park, Killzone. Those are all games a lot of people wanted to be good and had a lot of hype behind them. People who were patient and didn't jump on the hype train benefited from his reviews. I would rather he stick to games like those. All those games you named for review, most of them are just so you can feel good that he agrees with you. A huge waste of effort just so some of you can stroke your egos a bit

I'm siding with Spooney on this one. There are still way too many stupid things they did in the film and removed in the series as a whole, and especially the whole "all comes from Oscorp" nonsense which would easily lead back to them really quickly.
I mean, had his parents been close to Nick Fury, that could have easily tied Spider-Man and his search into The Avengers films, but no, everyone has to work for Oscorp.
It's just nowhere near as dynamic, presents the same storyline about someone within going rogue, being condemned a guiney-pig and such and so forth. Rince and repeat.
At least in Spider-Man-2, Doc-Oc was his own man, a nuclear scientist or whatever of his own. He was only being backed and funded by Oscorp, but I guess somebody loved that so much they decided he needs to deliberately be part of Oscorp verbatim and the same with everyone else.
The Hills of Silence Meh. The new Spiderman movie didn't really have any themes that they properly explore. Too much wrong with it. Focused on a lot of things I felt didn't work. However, the way they handle the lead-up to Gwen's ultimate fate is really well done. Spiderman 2 is still better imo.

Faisal Bin sultan I totally agree. GTA V was just not that good. Singleplayer was boring and too long and drawn out for me to even care what happened at the end. GTA Online is hilariously bad with all the glitches, the terrible community and Rockstar making it nearly impossible to get any money to buy all the new DLC vehicles and weapons without buying their Shark Cards. To be honest, any other open world game is better than it. Mafia 2, Crackdown, Sleeping Dogs, Just Cause 2, Skyrim, Saints Row, Watch_Dogs, GTA 4, GTA: San Andreas, Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed 4... The list is endless.

Joe has been doing PC and Xbox reviews, mainly PC reviews, for years. His first PS review was Killzone Shadow Fall. He has been doing PC reviews about ever week or two and none of the games he has reviewed yet are a Xbox exclusive. The closest thing to it was he reviewed Titanfall. He is primary a PC gamer.

I'm really happy I saw this review, I saw a couple clips and thought it looked pretty good but the game just doesn't seem worth getting after watching this.
Just because you don't play it doesn't mean no one plays it. There are tons of marvel fans out there that really wanted this game to be absolutely amazing (see what I did there?). Joe was probably one of them, as was I. He reviews the game he gives a damn about. That's how he enjoys doing what he does. So just back off and be patient

Seriously, why does everyone say anything with a one button dodge is from Batman? Did everyone forget that Spider-Man has been doing that from, what, 2 onward!? Batman didn't originate one button dodges, it popularized it and (personally I believe) perfected it, but it didn't make it. The dodge function is literally just what Spider-Man games do. It's getting really annoying how much Batman gets credited for things when something else does something similar. And I love the Arkham games!

it also happens a lot that you don't find anything to siwng at or swing too, even thought youre surronded with buildings, never had this problem in previous games.
Spiderman 2 on PS2 had great swinging, and Spiderman 3's was very similar. I like them both, but not this game.

Jake Vaughan Read up on reviews that dislike the movie, that way you can have varying opinions. Personally I hated the movie, I will not go into Spoilers just in case others read this but I suggest looking into why the movie is viewed as crap.
People want the movies to be 100% retellings of the comics, with no variation. That's a really dumb thing to expect. Plot twists from 40 years ago won't have the same affects in a movie today. I don't see movies so I can watch a story I've already read unfold again. As for CGI, I have no idea what you're talking about, it was fantastic.

Eh... I didn't like the first Amazing game. It wasn't awful, but it had lots of derailments of previous Spidey games. Cloud swinging, which was in games like Spider-Man 2000 and Spider-Man 1 based off the first Sam Raimi movie, but Spider-Man 2, and Ultimate had great physics when it came to swinging.
The Batman combat doesn't bother me, but in the case of the first game, you had to end battles quickly or else the enemies will bite your nuts off. Not to mention, there was regenerating health for some stupid reason.
The amazing spider man game'sweb slinging had one thing that stood out. It was the most BORING web swinging ever. Not to mention it's other horrible stuff on free roaming in New York.
watching this after the release of the Insomniac game is the funniest shit ever.
