@tim wildsmith By chance do you have a copy of the original 1995 NASB Handy size preacher's bible from steadfast bibles. It has a readable 9.5 font. If so can you compare that font size to this one? I know different fonts have different sizes even for the same number. For example I just brought the NLT with the 10 pt milo font and it reads like the 10.5 font in the Zondervan NASB SCR. Thanks.
I have been debating on getting this personal size would be my first premium bible, in blue goatskin. At age 50 yrs old, fighting the need for glasses (I HATE wearing safety at work). I am worried 8.5 font would be a strain on my eyes. I think I will wait on the Schuyler Quentel NIV Imperial Blue Goatskin Bible with 11 point milo font and thicker paper 36 GSM but it won't be out till mid 2022 maybe I should break down and buy the personal size in blue goatskin. Tim how is their return policy if I want to return it, if font is to small and paper to thin ???
I don’t think you will get 36 gsm paper, that is a thing of the past. You might not even get 11 pt. Some have gone to 10 pt. Contact Evangelicalbible they can give you the plans. But it will be larger than personal size.

I purchased two beautiful PSQ's when they were still available in black calfskin - one NKJV and one NIV. The NKV has a blue liner with blue ribbons, gold page gilting and gold printing on the spine. The NIV has a red liner with red ribbons, and silver page gilting and silver printing on the spine. I thought that I wouldn't miss the concordance in the PSQ, but I was mistaken. So they stay at home and my Cambridge Pitt Minions accompany me to church and Bible study.
I just go a Schuyler Quintel NIV (in black). The first thing I noticed was that it was unexpectedly thicker than the other Schuyler Quintels I have. Is there extra stuff in there? No, the paper is 36 gsm paper. All the other ones are 28 gsm paper. Why the thicker paper in the NIV? I like it, but why? The NIV PSQ is 28 gsm. Well, the paper on the 36 gsm bibles is better, I mean it handles better. The look (bleedthrough, opacity) is very much the same. I prefer the feel of the 36 gsm, but overall, the 28 gsm Quintels are so nice and such a great size and weight, I do not think I would want all of them to be 36 gsm. The PSQ is the perfect format for the 28 gsm paper. It's frustrating, as I would generally love the 36 gsm, but I want the bible to be the size and weight (and large format print) of the 28 gsm Quintels.
I’m really liking this Bible and considering buying it in the future. They also have it in mahogany calfskin- which do you prefer? Calfskin or goatskin? :)
A question for you, Mr. Tim, if you have the time: I have an Allan NIV1 and a Schuyler NIV PSQ, and I’m trying to decide which one should be my daily reader. If you were forced to choose between one or the other, which one would you keep?
Maybe I'm mistaken but you sound slightly sick or recovering. Hope you're well and I'm wrong. Sounds like you're speaking at a bit fewer decibels and a bit tired. I battled a covid crud feeling for a couple of months after catching it in 2020 and it took me a while to get the wind back in me sails. Anyway, we'll pray for you either way - healthy or sick.

They 2022 full-size NIV Quentels are confirmed for 36 GSM and 11pt type size. They may have a restocking fee, so look into that before buying the PSQ.
